Hello XDA community
Currently Under a Gnexus CM10, I just bought a new Nexus 5.
I need your help to get the fast parameters in the notification bar like CyanogenMod ( i love this )
I'm Root, but I dont want to change my ROM. I've got GravityBox but I can not find this option.
i've tested notification toogle but when i have an notifition with an email or sms, notification toggle is in the 3place, but i want the setting in the top, like CM setting.
Can someone help me ?
Sorry for my bad English
Why not just use the quick toggles that come with android?

I believe so. Check it out and see.
Yup, power toggles just requires a one finger pull down.
He's not looking for power toggles on the home screen, but rather in the notification drawer to be accessed any time, just from the one swipe. However, I don't believe you are going to find a solution that doesn't involve an app that sets the toggles in the notification drawer, but as you found, they don't pin to the top. This is most likely due to certain kinds of priorities and permissions that aren't easy to implement in a regular app. I haven't seen an Xposed module that would add this kind of functionality yet. You could check out the Xposed thread and put in a request for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327541 However, I'm pretty sure that if it is a deal breaker, a custom rom is gonna be the way to go.

Would it be possible to place an Edit button into the Notification Window, For example, next to the Clear Button which clears all your notifications? What it would do is let you edit the Notification bar how you want (Change Notification colors and things like that). I know you can already do that in the Spare Parts App In Superbad CyanogenMod but I was just curious if that was a more convenient alternative.

If you ask me, thats already extremely convenient. You're lucky you have the option to do it from the phone.
I prefer it the way it is=p it would be annoying having to see that every time I get a text...
On the other hand, adding some sort of editable region on top of the notification bar could be a neat idea. Like for example, I would put a toggle for brightness so that I could have easy acess to it without needing to go to home and use a widget. The behold 2 and galaxy s have this little power control thingy in the notification bar to toggle brightness, wifi, gps, etc and it would be cool to port that over.

that would be sweet!
The only picture I could find of the behold 2 was in the pdf manual It's small and on page 10 if anyone cares. http://support.t-mobile.com/doc/tm30312.pdf
I think a shortcut to spare parts from settings would do the trick.
How about putting the power control widget on the notification bar next to the operator name? That would be cool and convient.
What I wouldn't mind seeing is a button on each notification for selective clearing of notifications...
Specifically on the G1 when I'm installing many apps from the market then I have unread emails and sms, I want to clear up all the installed notifications without wiping all the notifications. :\

I'm in complete agreement. If there was some way to have selective clearance of the notification area without actually launching said notification, that would be fantastic.

I am in agreement with both of these! I'm starting to learn Android from the ground up and if nobody beats me to it, I'm gonna work on this.
Well Im glad that me posting this has made some positive ripples in the community.
Hello,
I write this post because I need some information for the personalization of my nexus5 (kitkat stock rom).
I would like to customize the toggles accessible from the notifications bar.
I need to have:
-A button that allows me to enable or disable the data network (currently enters clicking in the statistics and from there I have to click the button on / off)
-A button that allows me to make 2g/3g/4g switch (sometime if i need only use whatsapp i use edge for saving battery)
Have you any suggestions?
I know someone will chase the rabbit of the hat!
Thank you,
xSliv3r
HI
Please try
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle
I use Power Toggles:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc
It works very well and you can create toggles for your Notification area or as Widgets for you homescreen.
Hi,
thanks for your answers!
I've tried this app but there isn't possibility to add nothing in quick toggles area...
With this app, minewhile, i've added the toggles in notification area...
Have you ideas?
Thanks,
xSli

I have root but don't think this is available unless you flash a custom ROM, I'm just praying for AKOP to release something...

Has anyone with Root access tried GravityBox Xposed app yet? That should do the trick but I don't know if they updated to 4.4 support yet.
the xposed framework doesn't work on 4.4 yet, sadly. The developer just ordered an N5, and is already looking at the issues, so hopefully we'll have an update soon.
you've already got a data toggle, press and hold the centre button which has the signal icon on it. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work exactly the same way, quick press into settings, long press toggle. Arse about face compared to others but it works.
I couldnt install either of those apps..kept getting error 920...awesome.
Had the phone in my hand for an hour and debating sending it back for a few reasons.i dont know why google wouldnt implement quick panel..its a basic must have for many

Im just waiting for the up to date Cyanogenmod build to be developed and released which will have fully customizable expanded quick setting tiles as standard. Its what I usually do with all my Nexus devices.

I have used the various 23 Toggle mods, battery mods etc that are available for the Note 2, S3 etc. Looking forward to these being available for the N5... but development takes time.
coming from CM on my old LG P990, this is the only thing that I'm missing ; customizable quick setting tiles.
I use old good Widgetsoid. Very customizable.

GravityBox
I'm using GravityBox and works very well. I recommend you to try it. It needs root acces.
I'm using Quicker Free
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bwx.bequick2
It is similar to the QuickPanel in appearance but allows you to add and remove the settings you like. Also allows you to make more than one screen of settings.
Actually just tried out Power Toggles and like it better than Quicker Free
Just use Cataclysm rom. It's pretty much stock rom with a few added options like this
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I use extended settings haven't tried any of the other options really but it does what i need it to do and i think it meets your needs and its also free but there is a paid version with some extra features

Man! I didn`t know that, cool
Hi Guys, I'm a long time android user, but this is my first pure AOSP, I've been on various CM roms for quite a while.
I was pretty surprised to see that I can't find a custom quick settings option (ie change how the quick settings buttons work)....
- Why would you ever have bluetooth and wifi tiles launch settings menus, rather than just toggle bluetooth / wifi on/off - really silly default option..
- would love to be able to add a torch, screen timeout & screen rotation lock tiles...
My question, is there any way to get this sort of functionality without going to a custom rom - still using the quick tiles? or is it just a matter of me not being so impatient and waiting for CM or similar to be released..
Love the idea of being able to get OTA updates.. and really to be honest, the only thing I am really missing from CM is the ability to modify the quick tiles..

If you long press a tile, it toggles that setting on off.

Awesome, thanks, at least makes bluetooth and wifi toggles more practical..
So I take it that adding extra tiles (ie say screen rotation for example) , is not an option in AOSP?

Not that I remember, it's an added feature to ROMs.
It's good to know I am not the only one feeling this one.
I was a bit shocked to see how little options there are for customization in the stock rom.
I guess I am spoiled by CyanogenMod....

Checkout widgetzoid. It is what I use for this functionality.

Here is a screen shot, very customizable and the bolt to the right is like torch.

If you want rotation lock in quick settings you have to modify SystemUI.apk and framework2.jar. If you were using stock you'd have to modify those, but using AOSP means you can just change a few lines of code and recompile.
If you want to know the exact parts to modify let me know.

Cataclysm Rom has customizable quick settings
Root and Xposed Framework
I had the same frustration as you. Root your Nexus, Download Xposed framework the Gravity Box for KitKat module and you can add toggles and change other stuff if you want. Its perfect for customizing your stock os.
Id recommend make a nandroid backup and save it. I dont know if it effects your phone when you get an OTA update. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL THIS I love my Nexus now
Hi. I'm trying to buy a Nexus 5. I had it before and one thing that annoys me is the lack of quick toggles (for the Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, Screen Rotate, etc.) like what one can do on a Samsung/Sony/HTC/LG/Motorola phone.
Now, i know installing launchers does not have a quick toggles feature in its UI but my question is:
1. IS there any launchers out there that has the option to have quick toggles in the phone's UI? (like when swiping your fingers from top down to the screen?
2. What alternative quick toggles app that i can install for my Nexus 5?
Please advice.
If you don't use the 2 finger swipe and longpress in the times, i can recommend:
Power toggles from Painless.
Can be used as widget in lockscreen, too. Switch e.g. wifi on/off without unlocking phone

Custom ROM or Xposed Framework.
Also questions belong in Q&A, not General.
Yea just use a custom rom or u just long press on the status bar toggles to turn on/off

Quick tiles are part of systemUI which is part of the rom. Nothing to do with launchers at all.
Custom ROMs or Xposed.

It sounds like you aren't aware of the two finger swipe (or right side pull down in some ROMs). I think Google's implementation is better than that of other manufacturers.
Hey guys am I missing something.
Got my U11 and noticed that in the navigation bar there is no sound profile toggle button. Just came from a M9 and it use to be there when I was on that device. Havnt been up to date with sence UI for the last few years so this could be something that was taken out.
Yes I do know you can download a widget for it, just seems odd to leave it out stock.
First 2 screenshots are from my U11 and the last one is from my M9.
Thanks
Like you, I came over from the One M9 and I'm perplexed to find the Sound Profile toggle missing from Quick Settings. I resort to pressing the volume button once and hitting the bell icon as that is the next easier thing compared to going into Settings to look for Sound Profile.
Agreed, but that's a much less elegant solution than we had before
Sent from my 2PZC5 using Tapatalk
Ya i dont get it. I wonder if it was something they forgot or they ment to not include. I have started using the volume button and tapping the bell like you described, but i dont like it. Why can't it just be in the quick settings (or whatever that's called up there). Guess I'll just download a widget for now.
I'm a big fan of @LeeDroids Shortcutter app, it adds loads of useful tiles, including a ring mode tile and access to systemui tuner w/o root!

great I found a specialist! I am a noob now as I haven't flashed, rooted, etc till 2 years because I had a Samsung s7edge [emoji17] !
I want to flash again leedroid and maybe ex kernel or tbalden...
Are you sure no need to root ?
What is system ui tuner ? An option to lower the CPU on the fly? As I really need to lower the CPU when I play as the device gets very hot and drains so much battery..
