Just saw this while searching for update for my SCH-i715:
"Samsung and Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software update, SU1 SW Version, I915VRBMA3, for your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. This update includes an upgrade to the Android Operating System 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).

This update will address the following:

Downloading and installing now. Hope this is rootable.

How does one obtain the OTA link if the update isn't available from the device itself?

Man, i hope someone can port this over for the At&t version.

Any reason not to flash this to my gt-p5100?
As I've understood sch-i915 and gt-p5100 have same specs?

I wouldn't but that's just me. I'm pretty sure the builds for the p5100 are different. Also I'm pretty sure the p5100 has its own version of 4.1.2

The specs are the same but the builds for roms and such are different. Try using this

If they were the same then the root method for the p5100 should work on the sch-i915. Since it doesn't I have to believe they aren't the same and I would not risk it.

What about flashing it on a i497 ?

Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 i915 Custom Recovery?? Roms??
Hi All,
Is anyone flashing custom recoveries and roms on this i915? I'm not finding much info which leads me to believe it's a red headed stepchild... I am tempted to try and flash a recovery and rom I see here in this forum for the P51xx.. no idea if it will work. This tablet is super laggy and i'm suffering badly.. any advise?

If you've ever caught yourself thinking "I don't have enough paperweights" then go ahead and do it! Otherwise no don't flash stuff that isn't compatible, especially since there are no stock images available to restore if it's messed up.

me too...i flashed 3 times and phone doesn't boot...get stuck on samsung logo

Problems with boot? Yeah he mentioned that his tester said there was smth wrong with a script (No clue what that means)

I think was with the script for the zip. I think its not flashing properly so he uploaded the file again

The preload folder is deformed. Im recreating the preload. thats why it doesent boot

so i can safely flash this rom now? are the bugs listed on the rom's development page the only ones or are there more?

performance wise i think this will be same with TMN release, considering what i already see with XXMD4, i started to think that samsung lack of attention to polish their firmware. I will update atleast after XXME release

Stop creating new threads for every firmware release. Use a previous thread or post in the jelly bean thread.

Looking at all other FW for A2, even NFC versions, all JB sucks... Very laggy and stuff... So i think this FW is the same too

Why? We has XXMC8 was single CSC TMN we now have XXMC8 have CSC is BTU(I thinks it a Multi-csc) that not have new baseband (ex: PXXME1 from GT-I8160P i thinks it must have baseband is XXME2 or more)
Rumors to the XXMD4 was a Jelly Bean Official, I thinks it is old version:fingers-crossed:

Should be ok to flash... The modem for china isnt the usual so u get messed up... But UK is same as TMN

No lmao... U can use Odin if ur not in UK region and Kies in UK region, if you dont want to try UK, then u wont know... U never kmow maybe it fixes all the lags unlike TMN

Flashed Phil recovery got softbrick then flashed stock 4.3 all ok.
Today flashed old bootloader got hardbrick phone didnt work solved by sdcard debrick you can try it you need 16 giga class 10 it booted device then flashed stock 4.3 .
