The yet to come out Viewsonic "Viewpad" tablet is to be dual boot Win7 or android...although differentprocessor. Hopefully they will do better than the g tablet with their android os overlay.
Should I stop thinking of all these tablets like it's a laptop, that the OS can be changed from Android, to Windows, to Linux? or is it basically the same as a normal PC?
Thanks Again
Would forget about windows but (a version of) Linux should be doable. Possibly CE6 but I don't think anyone is doing anything with it.

This is not an x86/x64 CPU so the OS has to support Tegra specifically.
These tablets have a different processor in them, so, no, they cannot run any Window OS except Microsoft's mobile OS, a.k.a. Windows Mobile, a.k.a. Windows CE, etc. These tablets are more akin to mobile phones than general purpose desktop/laptop computers.
i got this old phone because my iphone was stolen. windows 6.1 is on it right now. this is the at&t version of the phone. Please be aware that i know nothing about roms/phone hacks/etc...
i would like to upgrade this phone to windows 6.5 (or 7 if it can do it)...
thank you for your help.
also, what software do i use to hook the phone to the pc (windows 7 64-bit)
um, anybody! HEY THERE!
To connect the device to Windows 7 you will need Window Mobile Device Centre.

There is a link for 32 and 64 bit versions.
For upgrading the ROM start here.

Mobile 7 is probably impossible.
Is the upgrade form 6.1 to 6.5 worth all the hassle?
well, let me ask you: is winmo 6.5 way better than 6.1?
Only if you really need the finger flicking Sense iPhone style user interface. That's all it seems to offer over 6.1
First off unlocking the phone and upgrading the stock Rom is probably the best thing you can do to improve performance .
I did this and am running basically a stock Rom with all the garbage-ware removed, it is more stable and faster . See my sig for the Rom..

6.1 and 6.5 , both have there advantages , it all depends on what you like..
hi everyone.
dose anyone have any idea if we can find win7 for herms somewhere?coz i have checked that 6.5 its aweful i did,nt liked that so if anyone can help us all to find win7 for herms that will be nice.
regards to all xda family members
in a word...
no
That is never going to happen for so many reasons, the HD2 is the only phone with a ROM currently, but the Hermes doesn't even vaguely have the correct specs.
Windows 7 is unlikely to ever run on *any* phone, ever, period. Firstly, there is no ARM version of Windows 7 and secondly no phone would be beefy enough to run it anyway.
Hi all,
I'm looking into buying a windows phone (found a htc 7 mozart really cheap) and I've made some extensive research on the os (I plan to start developing). However I have one question left: When Windows 8 will be released, will we be able to upgrade without having to change phones? Does anybody have any clue? Especially for 1st gen devices like the mozart.
Thanks in advance
i am sure it will, atleast the Windows 8 upgrade, maybe a bit later
else Microsoft have told about that
I really hope so. I want my focus to run Apollo
Sent from my SGH-i917 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
I'm going for the Mozart than. Thanks for your replies.
You may notice that I said Windows 7, not windows phone 7. That's perfectly correct. I have come to love Windows 7, and would love to have it on my phone as well. Is there a free, easy way to do this? How? I don't want some crappy theme. No stupid answers, please!
Hey, I know there is a Custom Rom that makes your Phone look like Windows Phone 7, but I have no idea if there is also one for Windows7..
I hardly know anything about Android, since I got an Windows Phone you might want to try it in the Android Q/A's where the Android "experts" will answer your Question..
