I think CWM is less buggy, mainly because it is just regular CWM with a few modifications. The two bugs I have found are fairly minor and related to my modifications. One is the default compression resets to fast but I need to test if it is the menu or the setting, and the internal sd defaults to data/media instead of data/media/0.
As for which is best, that is a personal preference. I changed CTR a bit for our device, and my preferences, mainly just stupid stuff like reboot to bootloader instead of download. They both should work just fine, I haven't had a bunch of time to test everything, as I finally got CM booting with display. I think I know what needs to be done for both of those issues, just haven't got any feedback, to know if anything else needs to be fixed.
If your touchscreen is still broke then I would suggest CWM, I forgot to change the default keys for CTR as it is flipped, so the buttons are still upside down.
I was also working on Naptser Touch Recovery, COT, Philz and TWRP. I have them all booting, except TWRP, but there are issues with all of them. I was basically working on them when my frustration with CM got too high.
Our biggest obstacle is our 6mb recovery partition, all of these recoveries are themed and include huge png files that make them almost unusable. I have found a few ways with CWM based recoveries to get a lot of extra space, but still not enough space to include all the themed pngs. Some of the pngs are almost 1MB alone, so that really makes it hard.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Sorry, it is very hard to understand what you are trying to say. The drivers are the hardest part, unless you have an old Windows XP computer laying around. It is really easy with XP, but there are issues with 7 and 8.
Just like Samsung has odin, we have SP Flashtools. Basically if you want to do this, you have to get SP Flashtool to work.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, but please include both english and your native language so we can translate if we can't understand your english.

I am now in superdragonPT bootloader, recovery and ROM. It is safe to install your CWM? Do I lose my data?
Thanks!

There is no need to TWRP recovered backup from other Recovery.
Since there are system applications, such as "Nandroid Manager", "OBackup - Nandroid backup", and more.

Thank you Chromium_ for this release! Your effort to keep this device along the top is much appreciated.
I was already wondering whether a newer version of TWRP was possible on our device so this release comes with great timing.
Also I was having trouble flashing the zip-file through recovery TWRP 2.6.0 ("not able to open ZIP").
Instead I used the alternative (and IMO much easier) method of flashing the image file:
In terminal as root, issue the following command: flash_image recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-bravo.img
Worked like a charm. Thanks again!

I plan to. Right now I believe this is the latest version (2.6.3.0). I've merged all of the open commits from their github and gerrit. Although you may see other devices seem to have newer versions (ie: 2.6.3.4), i think those version increments are device specific fixes.

Newer version. And I've also compiled this with a newer fstab found in more recent commits on evervolv's github, which may fix some stuff.

I'll look into it.
Edit: After talking to Dees_Troy, I realized that it is actually charging. The "+" icon shown beside the battery percentage (as shown in the screenshot attached) shows that its being charged. And I also tested it just to confirm, and the charge definitely is increasing. The only slight issue is that the LED light that usually comes on to indicate charging is not coming on, but dont worry...it is being charged.

I've noticed that Team Win has officially posted a build of 2.8.3.0 on their site for the D850. Is their build different from yours? (their img file is larger). And is their build bumped? Just curious if you happen to know. Thank you!

I'm not sure why you asked 777jon this question when you already asked in AndroidUser's old thread and I gave you the exact same answer you got this time. Jon and AU are not on the TeamWin team, so requesting features from them just doesn't make any sense. Go to the TeamWin site and get in contact with the team itself, instead of just a solitary person that is building the Recovery.
So again, like I said last time, here's a link to actual team members: http://teamw.in/about
Wasn't asking you.

I hope Jon just quotes cryptecks back to you.
My phone is stuck in a loop on the teamwin loading screen. I'm going to try to install 2.8.2 instead...
I got it to work with 2.8.2 once, but then it went BACK into an endless loop on further boot into recovery.

Yes their build is different. My TWRP builds are unofficial since they have additional features such as modem backup.
Is there a problem backup to ext card because in my case it only works to internal. When I try to restore from ext card it failed.

Instructions for unlocking bootloader can be found here
Thank you @20tibby_gt06 for these instructions
TWRP Installation
1 - Download TWRP
2 - Reboot into boootloader mode
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
3 - Check to see if fastboot mode is working
Code:
adb fastboot devices
4 - Change working directory in terminal to your Downloads folder (or whatever folder TWRP is located)
Code:
cd Downloads
5 - Then type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Replace "recovery.img" with the name of your file (I always change mine to recovery.img for less typing in the terminal)
For reasons unknown to me, some people have reported a successful flash with this method but TWRP ends out being non-existent when rebooting to recovery. If this is the case for you try this:
1 - Follow steps 1-4 above
2 - Enter this command instead for step 5:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
This will temporarily boot TWRP onto your device allowing you to flash the needed files to boot LineageOS

Could the OP add the following tags?
Code:
lenovo, tb-x103f, za1u0000us
The idea is to make it easy to find with information from the tablet itself. Thanks!

I tried to edit to add tags and I couldn't seem to do it. This is my first thread so I may be missing something
Edit: got it!
This is awesome. Thanks guys!
Quick question. I know own I shouldn't dirty flash but if I do will it keep the encryption in my external SD?
I use it as internal so I don't want to have to go through setting it all up again!
Will back it up anyway just in case

Also another random question. I find the WiFi in the other lineage rom to be slow.
This to me isn't a deal breaker as the performance difference overall is so much better but it would be interesting to know other people thoughts and if you think it is quicker in this new ROM.
For example I tried remote play and it's a laggy mess and downloading from the play store seems to take much longer than all my other devices.
fastboot twrp install wont work
as stated i cant for the life of me get TWRP to install! CMD fastboot install says its complete but when i boot into recovery i get the standard recovery menu! A step by step guide would be helpfull! Thanks!

I will work on a tutorial this evening for everyone for unlocking bootloader and installing twrp. It will be in post 2
One thing for now for you to try is instead of doing fastboot flash recovery recovery.img try fastboot boot recovery.img. that will temporarily boot it allowing you to flash the ROM, Gapps and root if you choose.

Ok encrypted sd caused me no end of issues so did a full wipe.
First bug I have got is in the camera. Keeps asking for sd to be inserted even though storage permission enabled.

That's strange, camera works great for me. Can you post logs?
Something is wrong. Magisk won't write to sd.
Log collector can't get access to collect the log.
Not sure what's going on!!
EDIT: Sorted it. It was because I had used external sd as internal. For some reason even after a full wipe it was looking for it. I had to tell it to forget it and now all is well.

A lot of my daughters games fail to load on this rom. For now I will be returning to linage mm.
Getting a few tantrums!!
Installed tom using the 2nd method
I managed to install your ROM using the temp twrp install method! Enabled root within rom settings! Installed flashify and gave it root permission then I was able to flash twrp.img permanently via flashify! Rom is lightning fast compared to the stock ROM! WiFi not as fast but I can live with that! Screencast doesn't find my Philips TV but other casting apps find it fine! Excellent ROM! Congratulations to the developer

--->
Installation
From existing TWRP or OrangeFox recovery
1. Download the OrangeFox zip to your device
2. Reboot to TWRP-based Recovery
3. Install the OrangeFox zip
4. Reboot recovery
From stock unrooted
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Download OrangeFox Odin installer .tar to PC
3. Boot device into download mode, and connect to PC
4. Uncheck auto reboot in Odin
5. Flash the OrangeFox .tar file to the AP tab
6. When flashed, and you are ready, force reboot into recovery.
7. Download Encryption disabler, and transfer to device.
8. Flash Encryption disabler, FORMAT data, reboot recovery.
9. Download Magisk and transfer to device. Flash.
10. Boot up, first boot may hang. After 3min waiting, hard reboot and you should boot straight into initial setup.
** Don't reboot device before going through initial setup and connecting to the internet. This is needed for KG status to read normal. If you don't do this, you may find yourself in a prenormal state.
** If installing OrangeFox through Odin, you will be missing the Fox add-ons, which aren't essential. But if so desired, flashing the OrangeFox zip from existing custom recovery will install the necessary files for Fox add-ons.

Thanks for making an N9700 version.
Works great!!
Any chance you can get USB OTG to work?
Android detects my Sandisk Extreme, but TWRP does not.
Duh! Forgot to mount USB drive...now it works!
difference between this and mental?
best to start making custom roms instead
edit: i see this is by mental lol
weird
pretty cool, thanks. Theres a couple bugs: haptics dont work and the keyboard covers the input line in the terminal. Also, I don't know if this is intended for this recovery, but system apps are not shown in the app manager even though I have mounted system as rw. That would be really cool if they were.
Seems like this recovery has the potential to be a great tool for system-on-root modding. I'll keep for a little while, but not being able to use the terminal will end up being a deal breaker if not fixed. Why is it hidden away in menus too? Anyhow, know you didnt design it, thanks for the work in porting this!

Thanks, I'll take a look at those items. I haven't done much else since release, but I'll see if I can move the terminal to the front menus.

That would be awesome if you could figure those things out. No pressure of course, I appreciate what you've done so far.
I do think if fixed up a bit this has the potential to be a great tool for our phones. System on root devices need a robust solution for modifying system files, and this recovery seems like a great start to achieving that. Adding system app management would be the obvious first choice for a feature many people would appreciate

Ok, assuming you have the n9750 device, I don't have much else to say. I just tested installing TWRP, then using the orangefox zip to flash OF. and it works fine for me.
I have twrp working and even have nemesis kernel installed.
When I flash orangefox zip in twrp items successful but when I boot into recovery it's twrp once again.
Should I flash it via Odin?
Also, I am on infinity rom...n975fds

This is for snapdragon phones only if your model is n975fds then you have exynos model which means this recovery won't work on your phone

I tried to boot into this recovery again yesterday and there was a verified boot problem. I went into a bootloop in download mode with the following error. I had to reflash twrp from odin to get the device back. I'm going to wait till this has been developed a little more to use it on my main device.

This recovery is based off TWRP... vbmeta issues purely stem from root or more specifically magisk.
