today in the morning Samsung released the brand new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for i9105P! German users will get the update first via OTA. Other countries will follow soon.

just download all 5 files and unzip the .zip file
Read before flashing:
Make a backup from your data! I recommend to format all partitions because some apps won't work without full-wipe.
Flash via odin:
-download the rom from above
-download Odin from this post
-unzip both downloads
-power off your phone
-power on while holding volume down + home + power (download mode)
-plug your phone in (make sure that the Samsung USB drivers are installed)
-open odin
-click on PDA and choose the unzipped .md5
-untick everything except "Auto reboot" and "F. Reset Time"
-click Start
How to get root access (thanks to OurJerry!)
-download this file
-open odin
-click on PDA and choose the .tar file
-untick everything except "Auto reboot" and "F. Reset Time"
-click Start
-reboot to recovery (volume up + home + power) and install this .zip file

I would test it but I have a i9505 (Galaxy S4). Just saw it on SamMobile when I was searching for an update for my phone..

Tell me if this package can root 4.2.2 please.
Just flash it in stock recovery

There are some difference from 4.1.2 more optimization, launcher, weather widget and lockscren of galaxy s4 and much more but multi window there isn't.. I could try port from s2 but i think that is very difficult

Experimental Root:
KINGbabasula made a root.zip which you can easily flash in stock recovery. Now he needs a tester, because he don't has the phone.

All and all, the process seemed to end successfully.
After all was finished, processes started to stop working :silly: (Google+, Skype, Contacts, and some others...)
I think reinstalling Skype helped.
Can't touch Google+ because I don't know how to get root access (should the "sticky" post work on 4.2.2 as well?).
I'm not sure what is causing all this
Any suggestions?

The reason it wipes the cwm and onstalls stock one.
Try to root the phone and install custom cwm from sticky thread and check if that will works.

what don't work for your rom? Can't you access it?
When someone has found a way to root the stock 4.2.2 rom, you should be able to re-flash the custom recovery..

I didn't try, but probably not. You'd just need a new CWM build, and then use SuperSU to root as usual.

- Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
- Click start button, sit back and wait a few minutes.
- If you encounter any issues with the firmware (Any FC, Bootloop etc)
- Boot into recovery mode (Home+power+vol up)
- Choose to wipe/factory reset. (THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD!)
- Then choose reboot and you should be good to go!

Does anybody know how to prevent the factory reset? Im not sure which one triggers it (I think the bootloader does). Im already on the older 4.4 leak so a complete wipe isnt necessary.

Looking at the op instructions it says tick delete data. Don't tick delete data perhaps

I don't know but there is a lot of line in S5 Priv-app apk AndroidManifest Line that needs Knox, we will see if it works after testing !

Ummmm... when i acquired root, 1st thing i do is to freeze or delete all Knoxs. and the rest works just fine. I guess its not all about Knox, just Knox's function enhance ? I'm not so sure.

Exemple:
to port S5 launcher to their ROM, E-team needed to decompile, Mod , recompile TouchwizHome.apk to make it work without Knox, You see ? But for S5 I don

By "knox-free" he means there is no knox implementation in the rom, so in future if theres a root method or a method to flash a custom recovery without triggering knox then you can run this rom without triggering knox at all.
also if this rom was made with my kitchen(not saying it is) then there is still some knox files, my tool needs to be updated
