Ok guys often we unplug charger when fone says 100% but i found a simple trick. I installed battery saver app

Even after 100% the charging system enters trickle charging system which takes 10 mins even after 100%. Point to note is when the status is at 3 the fone reports the batt is 100% but that is the time trickle charging kicks in..and doing this my battery did showed little more improvement
Please note : I did not use any batt saving options via app i just used it for monitoring the trickle charge...
Really puzzles me why such a basic app would need to many permissions. Better apps on the store that requires much less permissions to run.

No need for any app to do this, I always let my devices to charge at least 10 mins more after reaching 100%.
No need for this application as phone does not give message of fully charged even after reaching 100% and status will be " (100% charging). Once the trickle charging is complete you will get message on lock screen" Fully charged".

There is an option on my Samsung laptop to only charge to 80% to prolong battery lifespan. My Note 3's battery is so good, I would rather see such an app that would stop charging at 80% or 90%.
I usually have 50-60% battery left by the end of a long day. And that's with quite heavy work. I stopped plugging in the charger in the car for my commute, there is no need!

Wow! I agree that the note 3 battery life is the best I've experienced so far but mine is not as good as yours. Will have to try your method of charging to 80%.
When i forget my phone in the charger all night, i get like 20% more battery life out of it!

On the big screen U do not do anything ... For normal use the battery life is max 2 days. With gaming max 1 day maybe less...

Try "Battery Calibration" from the market. It will clear out your old battery stats and shows you the correct battery charge. Follow these steps:
1. Download and install "Battery Calibration"
2. Charge your phone to 100%
3. Without unplugging, press the "Calibrate" button in the app
4. After calibrating is done, unplug the phone
5. Use the phone till it drains out to 0% and turns off
6. Charge it to 100% without a break
Now your phone should show you the correct battery stats. This app is a must-have if you've flashed a new ROM onto your phone. But you can use it to calibrate your battery whenever you feel that it is not reflecting the correct charge.
Or if you have CWM recovery installed, just boot into recovery and wipe the battery stats when ur battery is at 100% and still plugged in.
People.... he is NOT asking about the calibration nonsense (pure placebo, the apps do not do anything useful). He wants to know the nominal vs. current capacity, i.e. the wear level.
@OP: Sorry, neither do I. Maybe the info is just not accessible by SW.

Actually, it is hard to tell the battery charging and weal levelling. It may vary due to the usage, temperature, environment variables (humidity etc) and the ROM too.
I don't that there is such applications available in market.
Google play only lists the apps which is showing the battery charged/remaining percentage only.
Usually batteries last for around 400-500 charge cycles. A charge cycle is completed when you discharge the phone to 0% and charge it to 100%. If you charge your phone once everyday, your battery will last around a year and a half I.e. 18 months.If you charge your phone twice everyday, the battery will last for around 9 months and so on

gonna call bull on these numbers - I've had my phone for near 3 years. There's times it gets charged 3 times a day when being used heavily and times it can go 48 hours or longer before it needs to be charged. I have not noted any decrease in the time it holds a charge. I think there are too many factors that can impact battery life to say there is a set number of charging cycles it can handle.
Which means unless you had something installed to measure the battery right from the first charge you aren't going to find an app that can tell you what you want as there is no way for it to go back in time and tell you what the original numbers were.

I would also like to know how much wear my battery has.
I had a DROID 3 and I had terrible battery life and when I replaced the battery the phone ran like new, it was great. In that case I was sure the battery was old at that point so now I want to know if I should do the same for my DROID 4 however the process is definitely more involved so I wanted to know if it was possible beforehand to see if it is worth it

Some battery will still have 85% of their design capacity after 900 cycles..
Others are at 50% after 300 cycles.. a 3000 mAh battery is now a 1500mAh one...
Depends fron the battery cell origin and quality.. japanese cell are the best
Also very useful to check if the replacement battery you purchased is holding the advertised charge...
Is it even possible to get that info out from a cellular battery?? They are much smaller, perhaps they dont have the required circuitry.

So I'm starting to remember how weird the charging of Note 10.1 is. I left it chargong for a couple hours and it barely charged, course it was on.
Do people "Power off" there notes before they charge it, or just plug it in and walk away?
Is there an app or some setting to auto "hibernate" or even shut off when it gets plugged in and not used? Just seems like an annoying habit to have to power it off regularly.
Note take a long long time to charge 5 - 7 hours for a full charge.
I always care mine while on, usually wifi and it charges from 20% to full in about 5 hours using AC. If you're charging via USB and it's powered on it will barely charge (its charging at 1/4 the current).
If you're using AC and it's still taking that long, you must have a battery hungry app running, try killing a) apps before you charge.

mine usually takes 5-6 hours to get fully recharged from 15-20%
I usually just leave on in the night. Wake up and it's fully charged.

You may be able to charge faster, I know there's a fix for the SGS3 but faster charging causes more heat which will kill your battery VERY quickly...
Unlike the SGS3 you can't just get a replacement battery and swap out easily... Slower charging will maximise your batteries life....
Yep, forget about charging quickly. The battery is high capacity so it should take maximum 5 hours. It may charge faster with a different adapter but that will shorten your battery life in the long run. If you want, you can buy a battery pack type portable charger I guess...

I started charging my tab, it got charged till 99% and then i kept on charging it but it didnt went above 99% so i thought may be its because i am using the cell. So i switched it off and kept on charging , The battry icon was charging towards the end part (like the last 10% is getting charged) but in brownish yellow collor (sort of dark orange color) i kept it for charging in this way for like an hour.. Still when i turned on the tab, its 99%. Why so??
I havent rooted it yet! its total stock..
Bought it just 5 days ago..
About half the time, my tab will only go to 99%. Since it's only1% I've never given much thought to it, but I do experience the same problem from time to time.

I'm using a p3113. I've never noticed much difference in how long it lasts. Most days, my tablet will last all day whether it charges to 99% or 100%. You really shouldn't see any difference to speak of between a 100% charge and a 99% charge. I personally think it's an overcharge feature to keep it from overcharging. I've actually seen it jump from 100% to 99% one time. If that's the case, then it's a good thing. You could try to bump charge it like I've done to cellphones that won't fully charge. I really wouldn't recommend it since 1% is practically nothing.
Charge it up (powered on) until it's finished.
Unplug it, and turn it off
Plug it back in to charge (still powered off) again, until it says it's finished.It will continue to charge now.
Now unplug it and turn it back on.
Plug the charger back in (powered on) and charge until it says it's finished.
Keep doing this until when you have it powered on, it should say 100%.

The battery charging end is defined with two parmeters: the battery voltage reach a voltage close to 4.2 V and the battery charging current gets under 200mA ( a value I have estimated on my 5110 model) .
If for some reasons the residual current do not get under this limit value ( # 200mA) while the maximum battery voltage is reached , the state of charge stay screened at 99% !!!!!
The 4.2V battery voltage is a safety limit that a Li-Ion battery should not exceed. Most often the battery voltage is stabilized close to this value at the last stage of the charging cycle and the internal charging progam decide that the charging cycle is finished when the battery current gets under a predifined value.

How many hours does ur tab lasts after charging 99% ?? Cuz mine doesnt lasts even 4 hours .. never charged 99% (just bought it somedays ago) did it yest , its working well now .
Screen takes too much battery ,.. ny way arround it to have better batery life? i saw CM10.1 but it has probs with gsm device so I m not using it ..

hello friend me too got gtab2 few days back.couple of days back i left charger connected full night and next day i saw on screen "battery fully charged unplug charger"my tab last full day when i return home its around 30%.abt ur battery life i doubt may be some apps are consuming or may be continue wifi use?if this is not issue then u must report this problem to cc coz 4 hrs backup is very less

I think it is better for the battery life to stop charging if the state of charge level stay on 99%, because the charging current is maintained continuously in the battery and I think this is not so good for the battery life.
You can check the battery current in the battery with diffrents battery monitoring systems. I use Battery Monitor Widget. This is very convenient app. to analyse the charging cycle and the draining of the battery.

The screen of these tablets is the most current draining component. At max screen brigthness the battery life is a less than 6 hours on my 5110. The brightness should be setted as low as possible to improve battery life, other componenet such as WiFi... GPS have very low impact on the battery life.....

I don't know about harming the port but, it will definitely hurt the battery, So I don't recommend doing this except when it is an emergency

Note 3 was launched 4 years ago. Battery would have gone bad, you would have noticed the degradation.
In some phones, especially those which charge very fast, the temperature can rise to a high level which reduces the life of the battery, but should not impact much if you are using a phone for 1-3 years. Though one needs to stop charging / using the phone if the temperature reaches very high (say above 60 degree Celsius).
Honor 6X charges very slowly while using and the temperature doesn't rise as much (as compared to other phones), hence that impact is likely going to be lower.
Generally it's not a good idea to use whil charging all the time.
I strongly suggest you to use the phone while is under charge the less that you can, especially being careful about using it in combination with mobile data/GPS services/internet browsing and apps that requires particularly usage of RAM. This because the li-polymer battery plugged on charge with the original charger of 6X, that supports fast charge and so will "push" inside it a stronger power than a normal charger, will almost immediately reach a voltage of 4.1-4.2V to ensure the fast charge service and this is the limit that you want to maintain for being sure that the battery will last the longest time. Using it under charge with mobile data or others mentioned above, will easily overcome the 4.2V limit to 4.3V or even more, depending on what you'll be using, and so the ions capacity will be reduced faster, letting them contain less energy than the original capacity while time passes by.

I try to never use it, except when in emergency
It doesn't but thats not a good practice in general. With continuous usage, it may get more heated that is not good for battery, phone and eventually you.
Because charging itself will hear up the phone and using it may increase further so avoid it buddy.

I always charge my phone overnight for these years and nothing happens... maybe I switch phones too fast to notice battery issue... :silly:

Hehe may be. I will take time to charge in morning or in night during dinner for 20-40% and then in morning for another 40-50% or if wake up early then may be i charge full 100%. Anything above 80 ia good for entire if couldn't charge full still have 20-30% left when reach home in night.

Almost the same here; i limit the charge to 80% with Battery Charge Limit, i wake up at morning with 79-78%, i go at work and when i come back at evening usually i have around 55-60% left due various jumps here on XDA, internet browsing, some calls and a few messages. When i go to bed i plug in the phone just for a mid-hour so it can reach 80% again, then i remove it from charge and so on.

I've set to 85% every since it was introduced. Find it more convenient, as seemingly, it gets charged faster to set level. It probably does prolong battery life to certain extent but to me that's not overwhelmingly important

Limit charge to 85 and turn off fast charging, then an hour before alarm sounds, turn on fast charging and turn off the 85% limit. When I get up in the morning phone is at 100% and has only been there for about 15 minutes before removing it from charger. Seems to work pretty well.

I only charge to 85% as it will extend battery life. You can see in the chart I charged the phone initially to 100% (tall bars) then I charged to 85% (small bars). You'll essentially get 3 charges to 85% for 1 charge to 100% battery wear wise.

From what I understand, it's the lesser of the evils. Charging to 100% is still not great over a long period of time (years I'm guessing) but leaving it on charger after reaching 100% is worse.
