[SIZE=+1]Q1: How do I update Micromax A110 to official Jelly Bean?[/SIZE]There are 3 options available to you:
Get it updated from nearest Micromax service center.
Flash the official rom using sp flash tool.
Flash the clockworkmod zip.
[SIZE=+1]Q2: How to root Jelly Bean updated Micromax A110?[/SIZE]If you update your phone to Jelly Bean using the third method I have listed above, then you don't need to root your device as the zip you flashed is pre-rooted. Otherwise, you first need to flash the clockworkmod recovery using flash tools first, and then flash the su binaries and app. A guide is present here.​
[SIZE=+1]Q3: How to root Micromax A110 on ICS?[/SIZE]The phone can be easily rooted using Bin4ry's rooting tool. Install drivers present in the internal storage of your phone on your pc.​
[SIZE=+1]Q4: What is rooting? Should you root your device?[/SIZE]Rooting gives you access to system files, and you can edit the system files the way you want. Rooting isn't needed by everyone, it is recommended only if you are comfortable with tech toys. Rooting allows you to enjoy a plethora of features, and a lots of root-only apps.​
[SIZE=+1]Q5: What is clockworkmod/twrp recovery?[/SIZE]Clockworkmod/TWRP recoveries are custom recoveries. Thhey replace your stock recovery and make it possible to take nandroid backups. Flashing zip files, even unsigned ones, are possible.​
[SIZE=+1]Q6: How to Flash TWRP/CWM Recovery?[/SIZE]If your phone is rooted, use Mobile UNcle MTK Tools to flash the zip to your device. Otherwise, use SP Flash Tools to flash the recovery to your device.​
[SIZE=+1]Q7: How to get out of a soft brick?[/SIZE]Flash any ROM using Flash tool. Or restore any Clockworkmod/TWRP backup you have.​
[SIZE=+1]Q8: Which custom rom is the best?[/SIZE]No Custom ROM is best for everyone. Because tastes differ. So, what someone else likes, you might not. The ones quite popular and highly appreciated are JMP and Suvi ROM.​
[SIZE=+1]Q9: How to use SP Flash tools to flash stuffs?[/SIZE]This is a good guide to use SP Flash tools to flash roms and other stuffs on your device.​

2nd sim not working
i m using megamax jellytreat v1 rom...and only one sim is working..can anyone please tell me what to be done..one solution is given...to replace modem.img file with the downloaded file,,but i am not able to figure out what exactly to be done..so please help ..

I have updated my canvas 2 to official jelly bean which is provided by micromax itself.
Now i'm not able to root it from software named "bin4ry".
Tell me how to easily root official jelly bean on micromax a110..

great that you have joined xda, welcome to the forum, now kindly search for solution, of your problem in mmx a110 section, you will find it cause i know its there, trust me think of it as a treasure hunt, dive in and take 15-20 min to explore mmx a110 section you will get your answers, cheers

Can any developer please suggest any best ROM WITH LESS OR NO BUGS IF POSSIBLE>> MY CANVAS 2 IS ON OFFICIAL JELLY BEAN 4.1.1 V1.1 Stock Rooted By me .... ((( AND THERE ARE THREE ROMS that I FOUND POPULAR SUVI ROM, JMP ROM and JETMOD 6.0.1 HAd A problem with these Roms as well 1. JMP rom is good but alot of people had complained this rom drains battery fast than normal. 2. Jetmod6.0.1 I'm Not 100% sure about this rom because developer of this rom doesn't reply anymore and also has some bugs . 3. suvi rom is everybody's favorite but bsuhas developer claims that he's shortly will release the new version of his rom .. waiting from 1 month ..... can't wait any more please tell me is it worth waiting.. please i need reply from those who had experienced these roms ... :cyclops:

Hi,
I think you are facing the same problem as i do.
I bought this phone mmx a110 with jelly bean pre installed.
Everyone has posted this one method of rooting mmx 110 phone (a batch file created by bin4ry)
i am getting an error dont know how to rectify it. If you have rooted your phone please tell me the solution.
Error -> mount : permission denied (are you root?)

Wifi direct
by any chance is it possible to include features like wifi direct in custom roms for devices like canvas 2?

To replace the modem.img you should put that file in the sd card and flash it with your CWM(clockwork recovery mode)the file shall be in a zip type so that it can be easily flashed..

There are quite possible roms with wifi direct option such as suvi rom,LEWA rom,cynus t2 rom etc try that which might help you solve the problem

Incase you want to avoid using CWM, recently one of the member posted another recovery which is touch based.

just take the back up with CWM recovery after rooting, or you can download the stock rom from the link given in general section............

I am asking for micromax a110, but it would be more relevant if i say i am asking about any android phone, as i have just bought canvas 4, and i May switch to some other phone later on.

dude this thread is for canvas 2 only AND I CAN PROVIDE YOU FULL STOCK ROM ... AS CANVAS 2 COME IN THE BOX

Dude.. No offence but this is not the section to post this.. There is section called Que and Ans,.. you may raise this query there and it will be addressed ......
Also to give you a quick ans.. You can backup the device actual ROM using CWM on rooted device (taking iinto considerationg that you know how to root the phone and installl CWM).. This back up will be created on your SD card.. The same can later be used to restore in case wanna revert back or if any challange in installing the new ROM.

I have a Micromax Canvas 2 A110 with ICS 4.0. Would like your expertise to Root this phone.
P.S.: Being a noob , i tried googling a lot of rooting stuffs but got confused on which would be the safest way to do..
Can somebody route me on how to ROOT the phone pls. i am totally new to this and a little scared as not to brick it
A proper link with step by step procedure would suffice..
Intention is to download and try most of the ROM under the development section.

Just only download a filr which name is root with restor n than extract it in your pc....

First now when you have entered xda from Google than please remember that instead of creating new threads again again please search If the solution thread is there.
And second thing this thread belongs to questions and help section and not to general section.

Hello frnds..today i rooted my device.plz help me get cwm and custom roms plz...
I cannot get any because my device is not listed anywhere on internet.
i can provide you my device details...

ok so no one helped me out..but i managed to port a cwm for Intex Aqua Trendy(my device) and successfully flashed it.
If anyone need it.just ask me.
So now i want to flash a custom rom..so if any dev can guide and help me then please.
Else my view towards xda will surely change..which has already started. :/

Yup had made one..and used it..but i have moved on to motorola..and no more in those mediatek phones.but if u want i can provide the stock rom or will try to port one.maybe i should have that zip somewhere

Hi,
I have started this forum for all Celkon A118 users, who are still waiting for custom/ ported ROM for their mobile. My first ROM in this regard would be Xperia based and will be available for download in a while.

Procedure for flashing:
1) Copy the download zip file to SD card of your smartphone
2) Select install from SD card in CWM after booting in recovery mode
3)Reboot after flashing complete
**for all the above, you will need your phone to be rooted. If you still have un-rooted phone and want to root download mtk droid tools.

Yes! Formating cache is required . There is no bug in my knowledge. Used it almost three months before posting.

ColorOS for Celkon A118
Finally the wait is over for all those celkon A118 users who wished to have color OS rom for their device. I also like to thank the devlopers/ porter of my base rom which I took from A116.
