[Q] HTC Butterfly X920D JB 4.3 new OTA update issue - HTC Butterfly

Hello guys, I have a very little issue after downloading the OTA to install it
You can find the software version details for my HTC Butterfly X920D in attachments and more info also.
JB 4.3.
Simply I checked for new updates and I found there is new updates as you see in attached pics. Definitely I tapped update and then unfortunately it shown Variant system version! as you see in attached pic
I've relocked my phone and replaced TeamWin recovery with the original stock recovery but also I'm getting the same message
You can find a screenshot for my Bootloader and the Recovery in attachments.
I don't know actually If my rom is stock or not but as you see the screenshots guys, can you tell me?
and can you tell me how to solve the OTA issue in order to download and install it successfully?
Thanks, best regards.

Dear Omar,
I have same issue, because I have no original stock recovery...
While trying to install, and have to reboot, the instalation has failed...
Can you share the original stock recovery?
Thanks

Dear Omar,
First, thanks for the link for Stock Recovery...
but because I cannot wait for any longer, LOL, I just diggin' arround and find this post and find the stock Recovery.
After Flashing the stock recovery I'm able to install OTA for 4.3, even with unlocked bootloader! :yay:
Before get 4.3 OTA, my past ROM is Stock 4.2.2
My butterfly doesnot use any custom ROM, What I've done is unlocked bootloader, root and custom recovery (TWRP).
Thanks

Anyone knows u don't need to relock bootloader to install an ota lol

Well you need to unlock bootlader, you can do that with official htc website, then you need to root your phone and flash custom recovery. After that you can do nandorid backup in custom recovery. All the information you need is here.

You can try with this tool, it suppose to work on all devices even with unlocked bootlader and unrooted phone.
just updated my phone too. i didn't even know that there was some issues with the camera and the speakers. my phone is having problems with some evil demons inside it, i only hope that this update exorcised it!!!!
isn't there some release notes for this update, so that we know what are the improvements and what bugs were fixed?
it's probably the bugs that are inside stock jellybean . someone back it up so we could use the update copy of the jellybean stock rom but for the hboot 2.11 like me we will have a slight problem dude the different hboot

[HELP] How to Unbrick

Hi guys..i need help here..my friend ask me to unbrick his HTC Explorer..its rooted already..he said its happen bcoz he wrongly deleted software..system file perhaps..so the situation here, its stuck into white screen with HTC logo..i search google, i can unbrick it using RRU..but one of my friend said, RRU cannot be done on unlocked bootloader..so i wanna ask if anyone can guide me, how to unbrick it to stock rom..i dont know whether this phone bootloader unlock or not..how to check it? thanx
EDIT : Done..its unlocked and i just flash any custom rom..is there any pure stock rom that flashable on CWM? or i only can use custom based on stock only?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189199 This is as close as it can be to stock rom, there is pretty much no difference between this and ruu, only installation method. If you want check out this thread also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225776 this is with the newest official update for explorer

my friend, i tried both, but end it with bootloop..but other custom rom can boot to homescreen..hurmm..but i wanna stock rom..did i need to flash stock kernel first?
That's weird... No, kernel first is not needed for the phone. Can you try first flashing this http://www.mediafire.com/?lim1od8qrjdbblp and after that one of the roms, another idea is to search for a backup of stock rom, then just restore it, I'm sure somewhere here in the forum I saw one, just couldn't find it now and I don't have a lot time, will try again later.Or ask in of the rom's thread, I just have no clue why stock roms don't work for you.

It appears to be the case of soft brick. Just download any custom from of your choice (IMO go for cm9#12) and flash it.

wipe everything via recovery, make sure your bootloader is locked, get into fastboot mode and run the RUU on your PC.

[Q] Battery Issue after mods

HI,
I seem to be constantly having battery issues like unable to charge to 100% or drops suddenly after unplugging it regardless of the ROM i'm using which was the BOA 5.2 and also the so called stock 4.2.2 TWRP backup that was posted and which i'm currently running. I'm thinking this issue may come from somewhere else.... you guys have any idea? and what i can do? Sorry but i'm really really new to this....
I"m currently on 044 and S-ON.... unlocked and rooted. Perhaps I need to revert back to completely original stock? thanks in advanced..

Hi daorderdillon,
Really need your help... phone's not working now. would you be able to assist? live chat?
On that thread, someone complains about the same battery issue and you mentioned that it has to be upgraded via bootloader. Do you mean via recovery twrp/cwm or via HBOOT (PL99IMG.zip)...... correct me if i'm wrong..

Try running This RUU when you phone is connected to PC.
It should take you to Stock ICS, then update to JellyBean Over-the-Air.

Hi, I'm looking for 4.3 OTA update for my x920d Asia WWE.
I've looked into your thread for OTA collection, but those are for x920e Europe.
Appreciate if you can point out how or where to find x920d update.
Try search Google also found this http://blog.isite.tw/2013/07/72/

I'm not sure those are for 4.3. I'm currently on 4.2.2 with build number 2.33.707.3, the link you provided only go as far as 2.28.709.3.
Unless Taiwan version number is totally different from WWE? Too bad the blog doesn't give any indication for it. Thanks for the help. :good:
