Is there any way to root the I9023 without wiping?

sorry...my bad worked well after installing superuser thanks for the link. now i have the touch CWM recovery . preety nice since the stock one was gone

Hello, i flash my cell phone, but when finalizes when finalizes it says "error msg" in red... with the OS turn on sometimes fails to receive sms, and I have to quit and go back to reconnect to afford... what's problem, anyone know? Sorry my bad bad english...

What Rom did you flash was it Stock or CM7?
Did you flash a kdz, bin or cwm zip file ?

I install the stock and flash .bin file
when i flash appears "Error WM_PROGRESS_MSG"

I follow the steps correctly but when I come to the part of the click "Upgrade Start" opens me "LGMobile Support Tool" and says I have the latest update... and will not let me proceed

So you dont see this? try disconnecting from the internet

You need to UNINSTALL the latest lg mobile support tool and use the one included in the zip file.

Old phone clockworkmod or flash something like cm7

okay so i have a old android phone (1.6 donut) (rooted) Htc tattoo/click i want to install clockworkmod recovery and then flash cm7 with 2.3 gingerbread so i can overclock it and maybe i dont know i need a custom kernel?
so can anyone help me to get clockworkmod recovery to work?

Here you go. I'm not going to kill you over not searching, sometimes it can seem like a vast ocean of info and be overwhelming, but you can run a search for the tatoo/click forum and usually in ANY forum the rooting/flashing stuff is stickied to the development forum.

hey, so im in the menu to flash a zip.... i dont know if i have a goldcard but i think i have - i transformed my sd also the cm 7.1 wont flash 2 my device it just aborts :C please help

when verifying it stops and says flash aborted - i dont know where can i get latest for click/tattoo also whats CWM `? same as CM?

CWM is "ClockWorkMod recovery" it is a custom recovery. Download the ROM again and try again, it might be failing the MD5 check.
Check out that thread for the latest recovery version etc...

well im a kinda using antoher recovery i used a automated one becouse clockworkmod didnt wanna install - does that mean i cant get CM7?

No, it means you are going to have to trial and error some things.
Flash this recovery, then try the ROM again.

well lets see i think i flashed all that you said with the easy1click root for tattoo but i replaced the img files with the ones you gave me or should i do from scratch

Actually, forget all that amon ra stuff, flash ClockworkMod from here

THEN flash CM7 ROM, then full wipe + cache + Dalvik, then flash gapps, then restart. (just my personal preferred order)
edit: i would just flash it via adb
adb push recovery.img /sdcard/recovery.img
adb shell
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
exit
exit
then just type adb reboot recovery and flash ROM

[Q] Xperia J - AVD Rom installation error!

I was installing the AVD rom from cwm until i got a status 7 installation aborted error. how do i fix this? i am on 11.0.A.3.28 locked bootloader

It must be problem in update-script (in meta-inf folder in .zip) . I dont know why others didn say about that problem...

Install Sony PC Companion, connect the phone to pc and the ADB drivers will be install automatically.
If you are in 11.2.A.0.33 firmware then you need to downgrade it to 11.2.A.0.31 in order to Root your phone.
You need to use Flashtool to downgrade your phone. Click Here to download Flashtool
& for download 11.2.A.0.31 firmware Click Here
Search here to learn how to flash ftf using Flashtool.
And finally root your phone, Click Here to get DoomLord Rooting Toolkit.

You can try Custom ROM. Currently i am using AVD Rom, one of the best Stock based custom ROM for Xperia J, it works with both Locked & Unlocked Bootloader. Also you can try CM10.
Every ROM is different made in accordance with the user experiences and requirements.

Nope you dont have to downgrade , but if you want cm its better to flash baseband before cause of gsm fix

Cm=cyanogenmod
And...in my opinion stock cm10 +riches kernel is faster than stock so if you want to overclock cpu and such things , install cm. but before , flash stock 4.0.4 dunno which build number it is XD
cause when not your gsm is not working
And another good thing, think you know it, riches kernel comes with dual recovery

Ehm first is your bootloader unlocked?
When yes flash boot.img from cm then boot into recovery . Make factory reset,cache and dalvik wipe and go to mounts and storage , format system ... install avd rom , make permission fix (its in advanced) then dont reboot it , just take out battery then flash vengeance,simple or the stock kernel
