Before I get some stupid replies, this isn't for me. Let me explain. I bought a Nexus 5 for my wife and she is just not getting the hang of android. With android being as amazing as it is, I'm sure there is a way to make it look and function just like an iPhone. Look, feel, lock screen notifications, ect. If someone can help me out I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Actually, there isn't. You may find themes that slightly look like ios but act? No.
She's either going to have to try and get the hang of it or you're going to have to buy her an iPhone. My guess is she is hoping for the latter

you can get it to look like an iphone, and easily, but it will always function like android.
Women and their iPhones... its like going backwards... they like it small
What I mean by feel is mostly just lock screen notification where you get the notification and slide across the screen to go to it. As long as it looks like iOS and has that, I'm sure it'll be good.

There are alot of custom roms that have lockscreen notifications where you can slide it to the left to see it, and either click on it to go to the notification, or slide it to the left again to dismiss it.

Gotcha
Try espier launcher and their other apps..they imitate iOS relatively well

For fun I tried the whole package of Espier apps. Mimicked iOS7 to at least some extent.
But after I was all done, I just thought that it was incredibly ugly.
Android is better.

Nope.
Short answer: no. Longer answer: there WAS an app on the Play Store that allowed this, and it did actually work, but it was extremely dodgy as it filtered the messages via a random Chinese server. So technically, I'd say it's not impossible for this to be done in a more legit way, but it can't be currently. Consider buying a secondhand 3GS exclusively for iMessages.

hey there,
i just installed the franco kernel and i've noticed that the vibration has been set to 100 instead of 63, nothing wrong with it.
but here is the main question: can this damage the device after long term of use?
(i could not post this in the official post from the kernel because i am a new member to this)
your sincerely,

Its just a motor but I suppose technically it could wear out faster but I wouldn't expect to see that within the lifetime of the device

Sure you could, assuming you could find the right part. This phone is easy to take apart and fix.
On my old HTC EVO LTE you could make the screen bigger by swiping outward. (to make the text larger)
Then tap the screen and the text remains larger and is fitted to the screen.
Is this still available with any browser?
Doesn't work on chrome or on an aokp rom i tried.
Good feature for those with not so good eyes anymore.:cyclops:
Works for me in Chrome, stock not rooted. You can pinch-zoom and double tap to zoom in. It depends on the website. News articles from MSNBC don't allow for it but news items for Yahoo do.
Kitkat webkit seems to prevent text reflow.
In chrome you can pinch-zoom and then double tap but this seems to fit to the existing lines of text. It doesn't reflow, where words that used to be on line one are now on line two... not that I've seen anyway and read plenty of threads here complaining about it too

It's totally baffling to me that text reflow isn't supported in every single mobile browser. It's so important to have on a phone.

I just now installed Dolphin for the first time in probably 2 years and I'm absolutely shocked at how fast it is. It's much, much faster than either Chrome or the AOSP browser, but I hate all the ugly green and hate the fact that it can't sync all my Chrome tabs and bookmarks. I might just give it a shot for a few days though for the speed alone.

Precisely. The OP is complaining about the text not being large enough for people with poor eyesight. I just thought I'd mention a possible solution - you know, something that may help.
But, I understand that the technical aspect of the text-flow problem, and a debate about the various browsers, is infinitely more interesting than is providing such a simple fix.

Its not a simple fix. It doesn't address the issue. Text reflowed means as you make the text bigger, the text reflows to the next line meaning you don't have to scroll left to right to read the same line

There are themes included in its add-on section. Mines mostly blue... also couldn't handle the green.
I've had my Nexus 5 for about a month and I love almost everything about it. The one thing that I don't like is the stock dialer. I tried to stick with it thinking I would get used to it, but it just doesn't look/feel right. So my question is, what other dialers are people using that they prefer over stock? Also, I am not rooted and would like to stay completely stock unless there is an amazing dialer that requires root.

I use rocketdial because I wanted something to support landscape in the car dock. It works ok but it still relies on the stock dialer which would always come up in portrait - so I had to install ultimate rotation control to get the stock dialer to recognize that the phone was in landscape. I bit convoluted but it works.

I just got my nexus 5, Absolutely love it Only thing which is bothering me is I'm getting 26.2 gb available memory which doesn't make no sense. That's 6 gb less that 32gb -_- is this normal or not? If not what steps shall can I do to recover rest of memory..
Hi,
It's absolutely normal and it's the same thing for all... Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508292 (at the middle it's explained).
It depends of your data (apps, etc...), so nothing abnormal...

yea, i was going to edit my post to add the math part but i saw others posted that info. I never liked the way hard drives are advertised. confuses people who don't know the math part.
Its just another way to sell less for more.
Its like selling a 200mph supercar, but 1 mile = 1200 metres.
I'd rather buy a 931 GB hdd than a "1 TB" hdd.
Then again.... its really 931 GiB vs 1 TB cause the feckers stole the name too
