[Q] Stock xperia e JB rom for tipo - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Greetings xda,
I was thinking about porting the stock j.b. rom of the xperia e to tipo, because it's a nice rom, with a very nice UI, and also it could be a good upgrade for the xperia tipo, with an "official sony" touch. Since both phones are much alike in specs (they have same amount of ram, almost the same cpu, same screen, same gpu and same camera) I consider that this could be possible. So here's my question: how hard can it be? And also what would I need to make the port on an xperia tipo? Note that I'd like to port the official stock, generic one (rootable, if possible), with no modifications like UI, etc.

Your post is in the wrong section. . I report to modeators to move to Q/A
As will be moved there by the moderator if you answer.

Sure. No problem.

I have found a method of porting a pre-rooted rom's files from a phone to a computer (here's the page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49766028). Could I do something similar to make the port I'm interested in?

[Q][E DUAL/TIPO DUAL] Will it be viable to port JB from E to Tipo?

So the new firmware for Xperia E Dual with JB is being pushed around the world, finally.
I'msearching something to do for the summer, and learning some android could only be good, so I thought why not ask for this?
I have a Tipo Dual, it's great with Gimlo, but Sony's update policy is kinda disturbing.
Since E Dual is a very similar phone, do you think that we could cook E's firmare to suit are Tipos?
I'm willing to try some of this out (after exams), but first I wanted to ask the pros here:
Is it even viable, let alone difficult?
With custom kernel probably

Yeah, that's what I was thinking In the first place.
There is Vengence, but don't know if it will interoperate with JB.
Cant' wait to have some time to look into it. In the meantime, If anybody has ideas or pointers, post away.
It is not problem in rom, it is in kernel 3.4. And FXP are trying to port it right now.

[Q] Xperia Miro / Tipo Stock Android

Hello:
first, thank you developers and modders for you amazing work.
I've been searching around the forums for a Stock Android ROM (ICS based, for Xperia Miro), without luck.
Is there a true Stock Android ICS for our Xperias? and when i say stock i mean something like the Nexus experience (stock dialer, notification bar, etc without Sony's mods except maybe the device drivers)
Best Regards

Try Nexus Xperia by Shivang Dave in Dev forums. It's JB based, and gives nearly pure AOSP experience. I know you asked for ICS, but there isn't such rom for Miro. It's just not worth for mods and devs to stick to ICS...
CyanogenMod has really close to stock experience, but it has its cons... I'd go for Shivang's rom.

I'm 99% sure that Shivang Dave posted a pure untouched stock ROM.

Thank you for your honest and well explained answer.
Unfortunately, my Miro's bootloader is locked, and that's why i was asking for a ICS stock based ROM, since i can´t upgrade it to JB ( AFAIK, please correct me if i'm wrong)

(Req) Xperia Phonebook & Message

* I searched this on XDA and on Google. There are many ports of OTHER APPS but not these two. Also, most 'ports' that I found of Xperia apps in general were for other Xperia phones which will therefore not work on other ROMs*
Has anyone seen these for any ROM? I would prefer the beautiful Jelly Bean version on the Xperia Z but I would happily use any version. I'm using a JB ROM atm.
Many thanks for any help.

I'm a bit interested by this as well. Could you just take the mms.apk from the sony rom and overwright the one in CM? Maybe it needs the framework...(which, if you run the mods that make the phone practically an xperia, would it have enough of the framework i wonder? i havent messed with it yet, probably will this weekend)
Hi buddy.
I have tried installing the Jelly Bean version from different Sony ROMs. None of them worked. I tried normal install and putting them in system/app with various permissions. I'm not even sure which permissions to use for this, but I think I have tried all of them.
There are some Sony apps that you can 'normal install'. I wonder how the devs do that exactly. Maybe they disconnect some dependencies on framework or something.
If you are interested in other Sony apps, there are a bunch of them here until we get Phonebook/SMS:

*Bump*
Anyone? I've searched and searched but no luck yet.

[Completed] Is there a rom for the Xperia sp that bravia engine 2 works in?

Im buying a Xperia Sp tomorrow and i'm planning on rooting and putting a custom rom on (maybe CM 13) I'm wondering is there a rom thats based on either 5.1.1 or 6 that supports the sony bravia engine 2 so that it still works?
alot of people have said to me if its based on a "stock rom" then it will, is this true and also whats the difference between stock roms and other roms?
also if there isnt a rom based on 5 or 6 that supports it and only 4.4.4 does for example that will still do.
I Would also appreciate it if someone could provide a link to one (if there is one) thanks

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Stock would be what the OEM (in this case, Sony) releases or is at least the base. A custom ROM has a different base (often very close to AOSP), which include CyanogenMod.
Because CM would not have the libraries that Sony has, Bravia Engine probably will not work. Probably the only way it would be, is to use either the Sony stock ROM or something that used the Sony ROM as it's base.
Unfortunately a quick scan in the SP Development area does not match your criteria.
By the way, this thread may help:
> Sony Xperia SP > Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > Have stock... Want to put something custom on it. Confused
Can direct any questions there, once you have an XDA account.
A bit late for your final decision in purchase, but I hope this helps.

Just take a look at all the MM Roms for LB and see which has feautures you like. Check the comments a bit too to see what others say and then you'll know. Lots have the features you want and are getting regular updates to improve them. It is hard for someone to suggest a ROM as each is different for our needs and wants.
Alternatively you can root stock ROM and then flash the ported versions of the Xperia X apps like the system UI, lockscreen, sound libs and even camera when it is available. Just check they are for the Z3.
There might be a port of the galaxy apps if you search around. Probably in the cross-device development section near the bottom here. You could even try installing them normally and see if they work, but have a backup if you flash anything!
