SGS3 LTE 4.3 proxy settings problem - Android General

Hi
I have just upgraded a non rooted phone from 4.1.2 to 4.3
Now everytime I connect to wifi it shows a proxy. Even if I go into advanced and set it to None it comes back as manual. I've deleted and recreated the connection but always still there.
Shows as Manual with the loopback address of 127.0.0.1 and port 3128
I haven't installed a proxy service on the phone to use and I don't use a proxy on my networks but on some networks everything seems to work but on others some services don't?
So why won't this stay set to none?
Thanks for any help

Internet Connection Permanently Killed??

Is it possible to permanently affect my Wizard's internet connection by over flashing??
I'm having a problem connecting to the internet. It doesn't connect via WiFi whether on an open or WEP network (I'm testing it with 2 routers -- mine and my neighbors). It connects to GPRS just fine as long as I put the right ISP info. But when I try to load a page in IE it comes back with 1 of 2 error messages:
1)
Error 502 - Bad Request
The server could not resolve your request for uri:
2)
Cannot obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings.
I was running a custom made vanilla 1413 for the longest time. Then yesterday tried MFrazzz's 1913 and now ANTC's. Between one of those two I am not unable to connect to the internet. I even flashed back to the 2.24 official T-Mo ROM and even with the factory settings it still not working for either GPRS or WiFi. In the past hour I've tried T-Mob official, ANTC 2.0 and XM6R4...all the same problem.
So that virtually eliminates the possibility that it was either a bad radio, corrupted Ext ROM or a bad flash. It definately seems like my Wizard isn't being given an IP address. So that would be a software/ROM/registry problem, right? Well then why is it not working with 3 fresh ROM flashes??
Any suggestions??
If I connect it to my PC via usb/activesync and use the PC's internet connection then it will go ahead and load webpages.
As soon as I disconnect the USB cable then it'll load up the GPRS connection and try to load a webpage and timeout with one of the errors above.
One strange thing I noticed is that when it gives the 502 error it removes the domain from the uri. Example:
Target URI:
http://mobreader.com/proxy.aspx?s=http://test.com...
Response:
Error 502 - Bad Request
The server could not resolve your request for uri: /proxy.aspx?s=http%3A%2F%2Ftest%2Ecom...
seems your proxy is not functioning correctly
reflash with original rom and then this rom you would like
you can also try and delete all connections but i doubt it helps..
I'm on T-Mobile full internet plan, not T-Zones or anything, so no need to set a proxy. Just put in the access point as wap.voicestream.com and it should work.
I've input the data manually as well as tried with the t-mobile wap setting cabs. Doesn't make a difference. Also since these are freshly installed ROMs (including an official T-mobile ROM) there shouldn't be any proxy settings pre-set, right?
yes i am aware of that..
i need to explain myself more , sorry for that..
what i mean is the proxy inside the phone , not the one u setup with t-zones
or any related..
Ok a little update...
I was able to connect via Wifi this morning, it was either
A) Registry changes to HKLM>Comm>TNETWLN1>Params>HTCPreloadStatus to value of "1"
B) Registry change to HKLM>Comm>TNETWLN1>Params>HTCPreloadWifi to value of "1"
The router assigned me an IP address now and fully connected. I'm able to pull up websites now. Sometimes the above registry settings mysteriously change back to "0" value and if that happens then I won't be able to pull up a website. So I know what was causing the WiFi issues.
But still don't know what's the problem with GPRS. Still can't load a website via URL or even IP address. Is there a similiar registry edit that I can make that will restore GPRS connection ability?
Thanks in advance guys.

Proxy Setting on Wifi

I cant seem to connect to my office network because we are working behind a proxy and the G1 does not allow to enter a Proxy name!!!!
is there a way to enter a proxy name and port number in the browser or in the system. It can be done for APN but not WiFi!!!
Any suggestions!!!!
Hi Shobbow
I noticed this too, since i was trying to run all my traffic through a secure tunnel to my home computer.
I believe you need to use something like this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=447230
hopefully the route application should be able to route all traffic?
Let me know how you get on since this would be interesting if you can do it

Please help with at&t media net connection...

I have at&t service with the HTC Fuze and I downloaded this 2.1 Edition of manila. I am now (after downloading and installing) having a problem connecting to the internet.. Please tell me the media net settings nd stuff that actually works.. what about proxy settings?? and it won't let me turn on the data connection in the wireless manager saying, "cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if neeeded, tap settings...". If you know a solution please help.. I also have the NATF v4.5S ATT WWE rom... so should I have the proxy settings on and off option thing that's available on the menu like on the BJ2?
Much Appreciated in advance...
There is a cab floating around that can automate this process of setting up your phone for ATT.
I would actually go get the official HTC ATT Rom update and use that to get back up and running, I do believe it has the newest manilla in it (I could be very wrong about this).
I use RRE roms so they are setup for ATT already.
Under connection settings...manage existing connections... I have only Media Net as a cellular line (GPRS, 3g) at access point name 'wap.cingular' with user name [email protected] and password ? with no domain present. Under advanced it is Use Server Assinged IP and that is it.
Go to Settings\Connections\Connections\
Click on manage existing connections and go to Proxy settings.
Take out any proxy and check 'connects to the internet' and uncheck 'uses proxy'.
Click okay and in previous screen go to Advanced\Select Network and set both to MediaNet.
This should resolve any connnectivity issues.

[Q] How to set Proxy for connections?

Hello,
I need to setup proxy for my Sensation, but nothing is working.
I've tryed many apps like ProxyDroid, Auto Proxy, etc.
When I'm setting proxy and trying to open browser (for ex. google.com) it's says 'site is unavailable' = no one app is working when proxy is set
Also tryed proxy options in wifi settings (Wifi is working then without proxy...)
Phone is rooted.
I don't have any ideas anymore, please help.
*bump* .
Sorry, but I don't believe that nobody know anything about this case...

[Q] Setting-up WiFi in Samsung Galaxy Core GT-I8262

Dear All,
I have just bought the Samsung Galaxy Core GT-I8262 two days back. I have setup almost all necessary software using my mobile service provider's 3G network. However, I am unable to setup the wifi. The scenario is - when I am searching available wifi networks through my phone, it is detecting all the available networks among which I am choosing the unprotected one and the phone is getting connected to that w/o any problem. However, all the available wifi network that I may use requires proxy server to access to the internet. So, I am going to wifi setup menu and trying to "modify network config". There when I am selecting the "manual" option under "proxy settings", the "save" button is getting disabled an I am unable to proceed.
What should I do in this circumstance where the Wifi network requires proxy servers. Please help me.

Maybe you should use the proxy in
accordance with the wifi.
Yup agree, you will have to use the same proxy and port number as that of the wifi.
