[Q] Reviving my SGS4 i9505 - General Questions and Answers

I flashed the leaked 4.4.2 from samobile and all went well. I then tried to flash (with odin 3.09) the latest TWRP to afterwards flash the latest Echoe ROM and during that flashing I inadvertently disconnected my phone. It now comes up with the 'Firmware update failed, please restore with KIES' message and
'write protection enabled'. Trying to flash *any* other ROM fails with 'write failed'. Is there a way to get my phone working again, and if yes, how?
Thanks in advance
Philipp

SCH-R530u issue

Hi.
Well I have a U.S. Cellular SCH-R530 I received from a friend. He already upgraded to 4.3 OTA and I figured I would try to root the phone so I could install custom roms. I downloaded Odin and downloaded cwm 6.0.4.5. I put the phone in download mode and tried flashing cwm.. Well Odin failed, I cannot boot back into the Android OS and I have the screen with the message: "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, etc.". I pulled the battery and put the phone in download mode and I have try flashing cwm again, flashing USCC stock rom and I still get a fail in Odin 3.07 & 3.09. I did use PDA or AP in Odin when I tried to flash both the cwm and the stock 4.3 rom. At this point, I'm trying to figure out how to get the s3 working again.
Nevermind fixed my issue. Please delete thread.

Can't flash firmware

So,
Today I flashed the UK BTU firmware (G920FXXU3COI9). However, when I extracted the file it had 4 files for AP, BL, CP AND CSC so I used them all. However, now I can't go back to my previous firmware (G920FXXU2COH5) because when I try flashing it with Odin it says on the phone: sw rev check fail.
I want to go back to this firmware because I have a Nandroid backup with all my stuff and it doesn't work when i try to restore it on the new firmware. Can you help me with the right file to flash? Do I need the CSC file of the old firmware as well? Can you help me please?

SM-G930F SW REV Check fail device 2 binary 1

Hey guys! I have a problem. I have flashed on my Galaxy S7 (Exynos version) the galaxy Note Fan Edition Port rom a couple of weeks ago, but now I flashed the latest stock firmware from Sammobile via odin and it always fails at the bootloader. I don't know why? I searched for many hours for a solution, but nothing works.... I hope somebody could help me
Here is the link for the note fan edition rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7...-galaxy-note-fan-edition-port-vol1-0-t3633626
OEM unlock on?
Could also be that the latest bootloader prevents rolling back, so if you're trying to go from a newer bootloader to an older one it won't let you. You can probably just exclude the BL file and be fine.
Is that Fan Edition ROM you flashed not a S7 Edge rom made to work on the S7..! Maybe your phone shows up as a G935 now?
I have flashed android 8.0 manually from sammobile via odin and it got stuck on emergency recovery and I somehow got it into the download mode and every time I want to flash my stock firmware it says device 2 binary 1... Samething happened to me. I did the same thing u did but nothing worked.
Can someone plz help us to get odin download work again.
you should go for latest rom. download from here: https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-G930F/region/BTU/
You will be satisfy with this.
Hi! Same error but different situation.
I was on the latest firmware 8.0 ITV, I wanted to downgrade to nougat, so I downloaded the first 7.0 firmware BTU (the one that was the best for my S7).
I opened all the firmware files on odin 3.13.1 and I started the procedure but at a certain point everything stopped, on odin the message "failed" appeared and on the phone the message "sw rev check fail (bootloader) device 2 binary 1".
I tried with a different version of odin but the message remains the same, I also tried without flashing the BL file but nothing ... In the end I had to flash again the latest firmware oreo ITV and no errors appeared, but I find myself at the starting point
specific that my S7 has never had modding operations, the knox counter is perfectly at 0x0, I have always used only original firmware and never had problems with odin.
How can I downgrade without having in that error?
Hi just flash this version of latest nougat G930FXXS2DRDI, this is binary 2 firmware (XEO)

Can't flash stock firmware in ODIN 'Secure Check Fail (CM)'

I flashed twrp and booted into stock system and started getting a message saying "only officially released binaries are allowed to be flashed".
I cannot boot into system and whenever I try to flash back to stock 'CRAP' firmware I get a message saying Secure Check Fail : (CM)
PLEASE HELP!
I am new and read that you cannot flash backwards. I was on CRD7 or some crap and tried flashing back to CRAP. Once I downloaded a CRD7 rom and flashed it using Odin 3.13 my problem was solved, but now I have to wait another 7 days to try flashing twrp again so I can get root back. I don't understand why I didn't have this 'only official binaries' and RMM state problem the first time I flashed twrp and was able to root without problems but that was on the CRAP firmware maybe that's why...
