My Buddie is looking to pick up a moto g, but wants to know if it can be used on straight talk. Right now the version model is only $99 but i read mix results of it working on straight talk. Does the Verizon model not work, or Is there a specific model he needs to pick up?

I'm running my moto g on straight talk att and no problems here

He should use the gsm model. (Either one) with a straight talk Sim card.

The Verizon model will only work on Verizon. It is a locked prepaid phone.

You need to be running a rom that lets you put the phone into "modem" mode so you can reprogram the PRLs and what not.
I used this guide
http://www.cricketusers.com/sprint-...exus-s-4g-cricket-talk-text-mms-internet.html
Yea i actually have that page bookmarked on my computer... most of it i know i cant do....im gonna just get it flashed for 25

OK so for some odd reason the adb doesn't recognize my phone when I plug the phone in...does anyone know why?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
Nvrmind...I didn't have the drivers....but now I had it flashed over to cricket but all I have is talk and text. No data at all. I was supposed to get a new number from cricket but when I call someone its my sprint number...I know it needs to be programmed, but what would cause it not to program? Would it be that I flashed a different radio awhile back ago? He said the prl was the newest...are the prl and radio be the same thing?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
ok so finally I have my phone flashed to cricket, what all can I do and not do? are root, recovery, roms, scripts all still in play? Im assuming since im with cricket now that radios don't work...am i on the right track?
I need to root my s3 so that I can change the apn settings to use with another sim carrier. I'm currently running 4.1.2

Search for it in the development section. It's literally the first sticky post...

Okay but from what I'm reading I'd only be able to get voice and text...I have to have data too. I hope I can find my answer before I root my phone and spend the extra money on a new SIM and unlimited monthly prepaid plan.

I was referring to rooting being in the first sticky. This should work.

If I submit a system dump can it be done? I need it for my boost moto g on page plus.

Its not a xt1028 its the boost variant. But running the Verizon stock few for page plus. No custom Roms work for page plus without enabling roaming so I'm stuck with vzw stock. Let me know if it is possible

If you wanted you can go to the stock rom page and use the verizon rom as the source.

But that's just an idea, I have no idea if that would help.
Just got a moto g from boost Mobile I was wondering what ROMs work on this phone ?

Almost every ROM that is for the xt1032 or everything but dual Sim work on boost. But your MMS won't work at all. If you can't use MMS then download textra app and use that instead with the boost mobile APN settings input into that so you can send and receive MMS.

I didn't know about revolve MMS until now. But yes it will work. I just downloaded it and tested it. And it will also work with custom Roms because you can set APN inside the app and Boost Mobile is under the "preset APN"

EvolveSMS is one of my favorite SMS apps due to it having a KitKat look. Try it out for a bit and I'm sure you'll be hooked. ?
