I apologize if this has been answered and I missed it.
Last night I rooted my Inspire using the Ace hack kit. I would like to install CM7 on it. If I do this, do I also need to flash a new radio/ril? or does the ROM come with radio/ril included?

Wow....seriously you should have probably read alot more before rooting and opening a thread like this...
CM has its own Q&A like most roms so please ask questions there. Per xda rules you are to search first before asking. All of this can be found on this site.
This is not a help site, its a developers site so please keep that in mind.
Help: only time I'm doing this...
Link to cm Q&A http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213154
Roms come with rils not radios. Radios stay with the phone. Please don't ask how to flash a radio. Find the radio thread in the inspire dev section. You will find instructions there.
I got your 10 char right here
If you successfully rooted with the Ace Hack Kit, then you already have the best radio you're going to find. CM7 already has it's own RIL and it is 100% compatible with the radio that the hack kit installs.
In short, don't **** with your radio.
Sorry that I am a noob, but I have been reading threads for a couple hours and haven't found a source that will answer my question.
What is the easiest way to get JB on my HOX?
I have ran into some that seem easy but only to find that I need a CID of HTC_xxx where mine is CWS_001. After a post directing me to this forum I have continued to try to find something to help me get JB and no luck. If there is a post that describes this please reply with it, or if anyone would be kind enough to post directions on how to do this that would be greatly appreciated.
Again, sorry that I am a noob at this, first Android phone, switched from iOS after Apple's disappointing "new phone", aka iPhone 4s with an extra row of icons.
Thanks!

First, you can use this tool to easily root your phone, (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952426), then flash any JB ROM you like and just follow the instructions.

You have to change your CID from the AT&T default before you can unlock anyway. Once you do that, it doesn't matter anymore.

The CID will be changed to 1111111 before you can unlock your phone and then root, so don't worry about that. Happy flashing!

Ok...all these noobs getting the phone for free are now pissing me off completely. If you want to overcome being a noob, you have to put in time to read and search. DO NOT DO ANYTHING BEFORE FEELING COMFORTABLE WITH THE INFORMATION AT HAND
Being a noob means you should have at least watched the noob video when signing up. If you did not you broke the first rule of XDA and you need to watch it. If you did watch it(which I suspect you did not) you would know to search and read before posting. The community is here to answer questions we all have, but not questions that have been answered over and over again. Nor to spoon feed you.
oh ****...i know whats going to happen after he gets it rooted.......Don't you?? i see a brick coming up from attempting to flash the EVO OTA.
zac507, there is no official jb sense for our phone. someone should of stated that in the first reply shame on ALL of you. if you read his OP you would see he already tried flashing the endeavoru jb rom which is why he got the CID error.

Here are GREAT guides for noobs basically from start to finish here. When I was first starting I made a Q&A thread ONLY after reading enough to where I was confused and not confident in going forward without consulting others.....The key here is that you need to read and understand what you are doing first before you ask for help otherwise what good is the help?
Anyways, good luck reading and hopefully everything goes well

Thank you to everyone (except Chef). I will continue to read and do research before rooting or flashing my phone.
Chef, I have read through the forums quite a lot, asked others who have flashed other Android devices and watched many video tutorials on the subject. But before doing anything I wanted to ask a specific question that I did not see in the forums to get a clear and concise answer. Since I PAID for my phone, I do not want to brick it, hence my thread. I suggest you pull your over-inflated tech ego out of your swollen rear and learn to read. I said I was a noob at this. Noobs have questions. People on forums answer questions to help them. You, on the other hand, just act like a prick and contribute nothing to the thread. Thanks for absolutely no helpful information, please stop posting on any forum if this is how you do it.
Again, thank you to everyone else who replied. You were very helpful!

Where do I begin to correct this post?
First, let's start with the fact that you asked "what is the easiest way to get JB on HOX?" Well assuming you read, and searched and etc. you wouldn't need to ask that question considering you would have had the answer already because you in fact read and you would know that you can flash countless JB roms if bootloader unlocked and rooted.
My over inflated tech ego must have got in the way though. Even though you asked a question which is so similar to all the other JB related questions asked on this forum.
Obviously you need to continue to read(skimming and reading are different) considering the fact that you try to run an international RUU on your phone...
I was looking out for your best interest, if you want to take it to a personal level and call me a prick so be it, but I sure hope I help ingrained the fact that you need to read more before tinkering.
I think my rear is swollen I should go lay down
Zac, if you have any trouble or need help I for one would be willing to help, sent you a pm so we don't offend anyone else in here.

Where the heck is "over there"? I assume some other device.
If somebody with 400+ posts on here doesn't get the purpose of custom ROMs, what the heck have you been doing here all this time?
Hi, I have custom rom on my Desire S and is S-OFF. I would like to get it back to S-ON and stock rom. Where can I get stock RUU and stock rom, and if can someone please give me instructions how to do it. I would appreciate direc tlinks, I need EU based RUU.
the only thread about this is found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42745420#post42745420 but there are not much answers to my question there.
I went to htcdev and only found this https://www.dropbox.com/s/f5nod5yyned60vr/htc.PNG I dont know if this is what I need so please help.

Hi guys, i just made an account with this website and may i say that this site is huge and full of amazing knowledge. I have been reading up on how to root my HTC One X AT&T version for about an hour now. The thing is i cannot for the life of me find a Step- by -Step procedure that thoroughly explains the process. If anyone here would please show me a link to one i would GREATLY appreciate it. I'm sorry about starting a new thread but i really cannot find an extensive write-up.
Thanks for the help. :good:
First off, this should be in the q&a section, not general. Secondly, the root method can be found in this very section you posted in, so you must not have looked very hard.

Sorry man. The thing is like i said, this will be my first time doing this. I've done jailbreaks but never a root on an android. Thus i need a Step -by- Step link which i could not for the life of me find. All i find are things like: 1. Do this on boot loader 2. Install this. 3. You're done
You should have a look at this thread, it's a resource thread so it has links to many useful topics. You should also Google something like adb/fastboot for beginners, you'll definitely need that.
If I have any advice to give, it is to read, read, and read some more. Knowledge is your friend. Jumping into something like this head first without having a working knowledge is very dangerous and could lead to you bricking your phone, and we don't want that.
Also, stay on XDA, don't get information from anywhere else. Other sites don't properly distinguish between our model (Evita) and the international One X (Endeavoru).

Hi The name is Devon. I am a complete nub wanting to know more about android and yay first post! lol
I am posting a thread to ask is there a difference between the officially branded htc one x and the carrier version (e.g AT&T) htc one x ?
Are there difference in the stock roms (based on carrier) and also what are the requirements to install/upgrade from a stock rooted rom 4.0.4 to jelly bean 4.2.2 ? To flash a newer rom, must the hboot be upgraded ?
My device is an unlocked AT&T HTC One X with superCID and S-Off running rooted stock rom 4.0.4 (Ice cream sandwich) with TWRP custom recovery. I live in Barbados and my current service provider is LIME. I wish for some response asap as I would like to install one of the jelly bean roms, either 4.2 or 4.3. I would like to know as much as possible. Thank you and have a good day
My thanks to you kindly,
Devon or NZXTBourne
Big difference. Stay in the forum for your model.
Start of in the CM10 thread and follow the steps.
Each step will require you to search the forums to understand what they're asking you to do.
As you search you will find the best thread in which to ask specific questions.
Good luck!

The two phones look very similar but on the inside they're completely different. This means nothing from the HTC One X (Endeavoru) forum is compatible with your phone, and will likely brick it. Basically make sure you stay in our forum which is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538
Bookmark that page and make sure you stay within it, and make sure you only download ROMs/kernels/radios/mods from the two development sections within it.
In order to flash the ROMs you mentioned you probably need to update your firmware. To confirm this I need to see your bootloader details, post the first five lines please.

The screen isn't the issue, the older ts firmware is compatible with newer ROMs. It's the other way round that's a problem. Plus, if he's stock rooted there's no reason his screen wouldn't work anyway. It's actually the firmware modules contained in the RUU that are important.

This is actually incorrect, at least in light of what aaron.a is asking. Thing is, the term "firmware" is confusing. He actually seems to be asking about all the modules aside from the actual ROM that get installed with an official RUU or OTA, which include hboot, media modules, touchscreen firmware, radio, etc. What you are giving instruction to check is simply the ROM or OS version, which is actually independent from the other firmware modules (particularly if you have been modding the phone.

Back to your original post, the absolute best thing you can do as a n00b is READ READ READ (and did I mention read?).
Especially since it seems that you bought the device used, and bootloader unlocked, and s-off, its extremely important that you have good understanding of what those things mean before attempting any type of modification. In particular, s-off means all security checks are off, meaning that flashing the wrong file can brick your device as the safety checks that would for instance normally prevent you from flashing a potentially fatal (to your device) file (such as a ROM for another device) are now being completely bypassed.
So just do yourself a big favor and take a few hours to read, research, and gain a good understanding of the lingo, concepts, and steps before trying any type of mod on your phone.
Start with my Index threads, and also the very useful threads maintained by timmaaa:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136172
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567916
All of these threads are sticky (pinned) to the top of either the General or Q&A forum sections.

Must my bootloader be relocked in order to use the RUU ?
No, because you're s-off you don't need to relock, just run the RUU. Your unlocked bootloader and s-off status will survive the process so after it's done you just need to flash TWRP recovery again and then you can flash your ROM. If you need any guides you'll find them in my How-To Guide For Beginners thread, link in my signature.

Don't worry about the kernel, just flash the firmware. You'll find the firmware is on the first page of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45122768
That aokp ROM dev doesn't look familiar to me, don't flash it. A quick word of advice: don't go searching all over the web for ROMs, other sites don't properly distinguish between our phone and the HTC One X (Endeavoru). They're two completely different phones and flashing the wrong ROM can brick a device. The only place you ever need to be is XDA. Our device main page is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538
Bookmark that page and stay within it. You'll see two development sections there, Android Development (mostly Sense ROMs) and Original Android Development (aosp ROMs). Every compatible ROM for our device can be found in either of those two sections.
Is there any particular reason you were looking at a 4.2 ROM? That's pretty old now in the world of Android seeing as we're up to 4.4 KitKat now.
I have some detailed instructions on basic flashing operations in my How-To Guide For Beginners thread, the link is in my signature. If you decide that you want to flash a KitKat ROM you will need to install a different recovery. The one you're looking for is the unofficial modified TWRP 2.6.3.0 by jrior001 which can be found in the first couple of pages of our Original Android Development section. It's a very easy thing to do, just check out my guide thread.
