Hi All,
Is there a fix for youtube buffering issues. My youtube sits on the buffering signal icon. Any tricks and help will be appreciated.
Same problem here. It seems to affect only certain flashers though. I went to a tw Rom for a minute just to check it out and now am trying to get back to cm11 or an AOSP based rom, but can't get YouTube to play. It just sits there buffering. I have experienced this on mastamoons Cm11 builds and slim.

Probably rom specific, you could try another rom and get back to it once the dev ironed out the issue.

No, it's not ROM specific. It is however open sourced specific. It has happened to me on CM11, beanstalk, and SlimKat.

Do you have any Adblock app installed? also check your hosts file. If you unable to find the root cause, I would just do a clean install: wipe cache/dalvik cache/system/data/ and format sdcard, this will wipe all the residual stuff on your phone and a super clean install. Sometimes if you have a bad configure file in your system and just wipe data and reinstall rom won't wipe it. After all Youtube is just an app that can be installed as system app or user app.

I think I will try the super clean install. When I format the sdcard, does that mean I have to odin a stock file unlock the bootloader again? appreciate your help btw buhohitr.

No, you don't have to Odin stock rom. When you wipe system it will delete your current O/S, when you wipe sdcard, all your stuff store on the phone will be gone like pictures, video, music etc... Once you done with all the wipes, just use custom recovery and reflash your favorate rom, I would try something less risky like custom TW rom (CM is risky) and see if that works with youtube, if it does then do a clean install again but this time don't do "format sdcard".
Any update on a fix for this problem?

Not for me. I tried all the suggestions in this thread to no avail. I think the only thing left is to odin back to stock. Just a hunch but i have a suspicion that there may be some fragment left behind from other rom flashes or possibly a remnant from exposed. Funny thing is, on a tw rom, all is good. As soon as i go back to an open source rom like cm11 or slimkat, youtube will not load on lte.

Hey so recently I deleted my wifi calling app and decided that I want it back. I have a titanium backup of it but it won't install it. I searched for the kineto apk and installed that and the app opens but quickly closes after a few seconds.
Does it matter which rom I have? If so I am currently using xboarders tweaked 2.3.3 rom
Thanks

It should be working since that rom had that in it to begin with. you might want to try to fix permissions and wipe cache. If that doesn't work I believe you could just re-flash the rom right over yours. that should re-install the wifi calling.

Yup. Boot into CWM and format cache, data and system partitions. Wioe dalvik cache and then flash darkside. Odin back stock. Flash CWM. Flash darkside again. The flash sky ics. Reboot. TWICE. Then flash faux 010m.
I know it seems long but it'll take 10 min, tops. I can guarantee it'll completely fix your problem

Appreciate the advice. I've tried theses steps multiple times now to no avail. At first, I thought this was a hardware issue but now it seems many others are experiencing this. I've also tried the ROM from thazz and the CM9, as the OP. Now, my auto rotate is jacked up no matter what ROM I try. I've tried restoring the stock from t-mobile and the auto rotate is still broke. Ugghh. Looking forward to a fix...

What exactly is your auto rotation problem? Mine is that once the screen goes to landscape, it won't go back to portrait. Along with that, rotation lags seriously, depending on the ROM. Right now, Blazr works the best for the rotation lag. The screen still won't go vertical once its in landscape, but rotation response is quick to landscape.
Idk if it'll help but maybe try flashing cm10 and calibrating g sensor or whatever it is when u lay it flat and calibrate its in settings somewhere maybe that will help
Just my 2 cents

be careful though.. about what you install D: Don't brick your device. Just format system and data (after backing up) and install a rom.. see if that works first
Before I flash a new ROM ,I always format system in recovery (mounts and storage) then I wipe data ,cache, etc. Haven't had any issues with rotation or anything else to speak of. Good luck and as the other user said,be careful with what you flash or install.

I also lost auto-rotation functionality after installing CyanogenMod version 10.0.0 on my Galaxy S Blaze, even though "Auto-rotate screen" is checked under Settings --> Display. I'd be happy to try flyers00's suggestion about formatting before re-flashing, but I want to be sure I'm selecting the correct options in ClockworkMod. CWM's format options are: data, system, cache, emmc, sdcard and sd-ext. Which of these should I format?
Thanks.

Thanks for your quick reply, xWolf13. I've been hesitant to go this route because, according to the folks at CyanogenMod, Nightlies "are as volatile as a firmware can get," and are "not meant for use for an average user."
(But I might eventually try it if I become frustrated enough with this issue.)

Nightlies are not necessarily volatile, there just maybe some things broken and some things fixed between updates. Most of the time there are no issues. On the blaze the old stable is not something any one will recommend, the latest nightly is the way to go.
Also, just a note, that most of the time there is an auto rotate setting on the launcher that is separate than the system wide auto rotate, same with other apps.

Everything works perfectly fine except when I try and watch movies using the Google play movies app. It just force reboots my phone. I have tried a different kernel, different clock speeds, different governors etc. Does anyone know what's causing this?

I've never attempted a dirty flash. Color me fastidious. I've always done a full wipe/clean flash and never had any problems.
I just read, though, that I can dirty flash v6 of the Avatar ROM. Since I'm on V3, I figured I'd give it a go.
Do I just boot into recovery and flash the ROM zip file?
What about Gapps?

Dirty flash typically works if you are upgrading between very similar firmwares with no framework changes, database changes, or other major differences. Sounds like V3 to V6 has some "major differences"

Actually, I simply hook my USB up to my Infuse, copy my zip to my external SD, reboot into recovery mode, run the appropriate wipes first, then run the zip. Voila.
What do you mean by "run my zip"? You're not referring to the zip for the ROM, right? A Tibu zip?

I use the CarbonRom mod, so I run their zips, usually updating my phone 1-2 a month from their nightlies.
I assume you've gone through the steps of rooting, getting CM recovery installed, etc. Once past all that, it's simple to load up any mod (run any zip).

Thanks for putting up with questions from a self educating non techie guy.
When you do a clean install, once you flash the ROM zip, how do go about restoring all your apps? I've tried a dozen different things but am wondering if there are any easier ways to restore my 100+ apps.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
If you move your apps to your sdcard first, you should be able to restore the data (not guaranteed). If you are doing any cloud backup, that will definitely help.
I copied my music, pictures, etc., to my external sd care (simply via USB). That took care of that. There is also Titanium Backup, but I'm not sure how well it safeguards if you're unrooted. However, it's one killer product, and there are many here who can chime in on how well it does before rooting.
However, wish I could say I did things perfectly there, but when I went from Gingerbread to Jellybean, I lost all my records on my aCar app (and had been keeping all fill-up and service records for almost a year). So I learned the hard way.

Titanium Backup. When restoring, you can restore apps, games and data. I only restore data for games, not apps. In general, don't restore system data. That can/will cause things to FC, giving a false impression there's bugs. You can also backup call and text logs to avoid losing them. I also have well over 100 apps and games myself, and it takes no more than an hour to recover from a full wipe and clean install of a update or new rom. It's because of that that I always do a clean install. Then you get the best out of your rom. A dirty flash is only good for 2 reasons. To try a new update with the expectation of restoring a nandroid backup, or if you're lazy and don't mind "bugs".
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
You can also use carbon for backing up apps, even unrooted. It was made by the guy that made the original CWM, and it will let you choose where to back them up. Even has an option to backup to PC using the carbon PC app. I use both it and titanium personally, can never be too careful if you have several apps
