Verizon GS3 sch-i535 Serious Odin Problems, Please Help - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello, I am in need of some dire assistance. I purchased a Verizon Galaxy S3, the phone itself works fine, but it does some kinda funky stuff from time to time. Like if I push the power button, and I unlock the screen, sometimes the screen will turn black and I have to turn it on again, then I fight it a few time to finally unlock the phone. Something similar happens when trying to shut the screen off manually. If I use the button the screen will turn off for a second then turn back on. I fight it but I normally end up just letting the screen time itself out.
I was hoping to root it and try a custom rom, hoping the issues were stemming from a crappy verizon rom. I downloaded all the drivers and the Odin files. I am very familiar with Odin and rooting, I have approximately 12 android devices rooted at the moment most of them samsung, some lg, etc.
I am in the process of trying to get my device in Odin mode, this is where things get REALLY funky! I power the device down, it kind of just vibrates for a while, then it turns itself back on. Well alright, I pulled the battery, I insert the battery, the phone powers itself on. Well okay then, So I pull the battery, put my fingers on the volume down and the home key, slide the battery, and it boots into Download Mode. SWEET VICTORY FINALLY, just gotta push the volume down key to activa... Wait, the screen just went black, and the phone vibrates about every 10 seconds or so. So I pull the battery and try again, only this tie I push the button and get into Odin mode, I see it loading it it's complete I grab my usb cable, and the phone screen goes black and the phone vibrates.
So I have been fighting this for over an hour now and I'm ready to admit defeat unless one of you can help me out and tell me what has possessed this phone and what I can do to free it?
Yes, I did search, I have been searching, frantically, and I will continue to, I have not found anything useful yet

Sounds like a hardware problem. Most likely your power button is sticking. Try hitting it gently against a table corner or something.

Thanks, I don't like the idea of gently tapping my device against a table :/ but I will give it a shot. The plastic button that sticks out the the bezel comes back after being pressed. However I think you are right about the button, it seems a little hyper sensitive.
I had no luck tapping it against a table. I can feel the button click in and i can feel it release

Phone keeps restarting before Samsung logo

I recently flashed CM9 (throwing that out there incase it is of some reasoning but I doubt it) and I've had my phone since November.
I flashed CM9 9/25 Nightly like 2 or 3 days ago (absolutely love it by the way, smoothest build/rom for the Skyrocket thus far) No problems with the Rom I might add, just my phone had just randomly restarted on its own twice while using it (nothing happened, just started right back up).
However the 3rd time, it randomly restarted and never booted back up. It vibrates and then reboots before it even gets to the Samsung screen and reboots/vibrates again (2 second intervals or so). The furthest it gets is like 5 seconds into the CM9 logo and then it'll reboot. It does the usual thin white line as it restarts and just gets stuck there. Can't get to Recovery for more than a few seconds before it reboots (not long enough for Touch to settle and do anything) and it won't get to Download Mode fast enough. Any ideas or any way to get data off /emmc? Don't want to lose a bunch of pictures/videos.
I have a replacement coming within the next days so I have about 2 weeks to either get lucky and get up long enough to save my data or somehow find a solution (doubt it). I already took it apart and swapped screens because I had busted the screen before and put the broken one in incase by some miracle the new one was causing it (no luck).
No water damage or anything to the phone, just randomly rebooted those times while texting or listening to music/what not and now it's pooped.
Any suggestions?
Tried without the battery (via usb/pc or AC source), without sim/microsd, etc. and nothing. Assuming I'm just SOL.
Edit: Side note, I got terrible battery life with this phone. I could only get 2 hours of screen-on time if I was LUCKY on Mobile and maaaybe 3 if I was on WIFI. The most I ever got was 5 hours on WIFI with a 3850mAh Extended Battrey (so even though it was a cheap battery, I'm thinking the phone had a problem from the get-go).
You Could Have A Stuck Power Button. To Fix That Try To Repeatedly Keep Pushing The Power Button Hard To Try To Unstick It. or try taking it apart and clean the power button

This was my first thought, didn't make a difference no matter how I did it. Appreciate the idea though.
[SOLVED] It is indeed the power button.
I took it apart again and thoroughly mashed the power button plenty and gave it a good few breaths of fresh air.
After that I realized that, I put it back together and realized that if I held the power button right after the phone vibrated it seemed to get to the CM9 symbol more often.
So I mashed the power button a ton more, shook the phone like hell and smashed it against my palm a few times and...it booted! I was able to get everything off of it and reset flash/counter/restore to stock all without ever touching the power button. Screen Timeout @ 30 and using ADB is your friend. Now just to see if it magically works till my replacement gets here lol.

i know its sounds too simplistic as to blame a sticky power button and users dismiss the idea because they'll blame themselves, a bad flash, or the rom, but a reboot at a 8-10sec interval is the power button internal switch making contact, sometimes its an easy fix or sometimes it takes more than a few tries, or taking it apart to clean the internals
My phone goes anywhere now from 10 seconds to a full day without having a reboot with continuous vibration at 2 second intervals. Flashed to stable ROM's so that's definitely not the issue. I've had this phone since Christmas 2011 so I'm assuming I don't have warranty? You guys just unscrewed the screws and got into the internals I'm assuming?

[Q] Power button is causing phone to reboot nonstop

So, tonight I just turned my screen on and then off real quick to check if I have any messages and set my phone down. Then I look down and see the Samsung logo. I'm a bit confused and notice that the Samsung logo keeps showing for 1-2 seconds going black for 1-2 seconds and then back to the Samsung logo for 1-2 seconds, over and over. I pull the battery and then when I put it back in, the phone starts doing it again before I touch any buttons. Clearly something is causing my power button to be "on" continuously. This seems to be a relatively common problem from doing some searching, but most of the posts I find seem to be full of people responding who fail to understand the problem. People seem to think that this is a boot loop and that it can be fixed by going into download mode. This is clearly not the case, the problem is obviously with the power button since the phone automatically starts up and keeps doing this as soon as the battery is reinserted regardless if no buttons are pushed or all buttons are pushed. Has anyone managed to fix this problem? I'm thinking I'm going to have to take the infuse apart and see if the button is stuck or if there contact occuring somewhere it shouldn't be. Any help would be appreciated.
Yeah, i have this problem. First what i did, i'd hit gently the power button a few times and it seemed to work. But after a few days it got worse, till the point it wouldn't work. I decided to open up the phone myself, and trying to manipulate the small power button. Apparently it worked, but i decided not to use the power button anymore, i wake the phone by touching the volume +/- buttons and i turn it off with a widget i downloaded from the playstore. This problem seems to be on every infuse i'm saving up some money to buy another phone, since i won't be able to sell this one with this problem.

Here is a video of a screen replcement- not what you are doing but it shows you how to take the phone apart. Hope this helps.

Hardware problem?

I bought an used infuse the other day to fix and sell to a friend. The owner said it was bricked, but I've since gotten it into recovery mode, download mode, and a normal power on. It goes into a bootloop most of the time though, the endless bootloop people seem to be getting when the power button gets stuck.
I've completely disassembled the phone and I can't find the problem. The power button (the white one on the inside) moves completely freely. I've tried booting up the phone with the back housing off so the power button is bare but it still bootlooped. The only way I can get it to boot up is to repeatedly hit the back of the phone onto my hand as its booting up. Even then, the phone will only stay on for 30 seconds or so once it boots. I've read of people fixing this by simply throwing the phone on the ground, but is there a better way to fix this? What could be the problem?
Edit: I think I may try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2235435&highlight=bootloop
It could be a weak connection on the mobo somewhere.
Edit 2: Yep! I re-soldered the connection around the power button on the back of the motherboard and the phone is working. Got it reset and now I'm running it without the second power button thing in the case.

VZW Galaxy S6 won't turn on

Got a perculiar problem with the S6. The screen suddenly went black with just the blue LED blinking in the upper left hand corner of the sreen. I am assuming the phone went off completely as I cannot access it via the PC also. I have tried all possible button combinations for reset but no luck so far.
Anyone else experience this? Did you find a fix?
Sent from my SM-G920V using XDA Free mobile app
Well the phone is not off if the blue led light is blinking, I've never had it happen to me where the phone didn't come back though. I was using an app one day (YouTube I think) and the app crashed and bugged the phone out to where the screen went black but the led was blinking. I left the phone alone after several attempts of hitting home and power to get the screen to come back on and finally I think I plugged it into the charger and it kind of just fixed it self and has not happened again. This is the scary parts of not having a removable battery.

I've got the 128GB and yes I have experienced this as well, twice! I hold down both volume buttons the home button and the power button at the same time, this will put you in maintenance mode. It'll take a couple of seconds holding those buttons but just keep them pressed. Be careful because when it does come on it comes on fast and factory reset is the second selection in that mode. The first time I did it I wiped my phone, the second time it happened I lifted my fingers fast enough not to make a selection. Give that a try and see what happens.

Sounds like you have the same problem as stated in OP. You could try doing what was recommended earlier in the thread. By the way, this is an inappropriate location to put your problem. Read the forum rules
Never rooted.
I am having the same issue. I have tried everything. Factory reset. Reboot/wiped cache and even trying to install verizon's Fireware again as it come only up to the Samsung S6 logo then goes blank. This is now my 4th replacement with Verizon and getting sick of it. How do I fix this? Odin stops at Get Pit mapping then when I do that says it can not install NAND. Using Odin 3.10.6 and 3.10.7. Tried mutli cables and restarted computer as well. This is driving me insane these phones keep doing this.
same problem except nothing comes on. no led, no reset, no computer recognition...
Same issue. Boots into and displays recovery fine and download mode. I can also bring up the safe mode menu ... just can't boot into the OS. Blue light on. I get a response in ADB when powered on, just can't enter any commands due to not being able to authorize access via phone screen.
Update:
Well as strange as it sounds, as soon as I plopped it down on the wireless charger for my S7 the screen came to life. It was at 95% battery prior to. Whatever gremlins got into the gizmos within the wireless charging apparatus seems to have caused this strange occurrence.

Bootloop + Power Menu problem

So today i started having bootloops, it was showing the Powered by Android screen for 2 seconds then booting again over and over for few hours
Now after it somehow got fixed by itself, i managed to turn the phone ON and to clear Cache
So far there are not bootloops anymore
BUT
huge BUT
the phone is poping the Power Menu most of the time, and then every touch on the screen just "presses" on the Shut Down option
If i press on the Power button myself it shut him down automatically ...
EDIT:
Would like to add, that i never unlocked it, it's the regular OTA version.
I doubt a wipe wll help, but i really wont mind if thats the case
Its almost like something pressing the Power button sometimes, but even WITHOUT the back case it still pops that power menu. even if no one is touching it at all it still pops it once in a while, which cause shut downs once in a while ...
So i woke up
The phone is off, i cant turn it on
I charge it for few hours already and still nothing happens the power button doesnt do nothing, it doesnt vibrate
So i connect it to my PC, it shows it as a Marshal something in the device manager but it KEEPS disconnecting and reconnecting every 2 seconds
I have found a "fix ur bricked phone" threads but they all using a tool that needs the phone connected to the PC, well my phone cant stay connected more than 5 seconds for some reason [ different cables, different computers] it keeps on popping in and out
Did you drop your phone in the water or something? Wet or damp from the rain maybe?
And did you try connecting it while in fastboot or recovery mode?
Maybe wet from Humidity but thats all
i cant reach fastboot nor recovery
as now it all black, not turning on not even for a bootloop
This problem happen when the phone is getting wet ? its certainly didn't but maybe i should "fix" it as a wet phone should be fixed? should i open it and dry it out? maybe take the battery out? its not that easy to take it out tho
I had a phone which was wet from the rain, it made the power button faulty. It would randomly turn screen on off like in your case. I took it to the repair shop and they cleaned the insides and it was fine again. If you're sure it's not the rain or anything then maybe that's not the reason, just a guess.
How about plugging in the charger? Does it light up? If it lit up and you cant turn it on after maybe its the power button problem.

plugging the charger doesnt do nothing
Although i got a portable charger with a led , the led turns on when i plug the One, BUT, the led bar doesnt decrease even after few hours, so its like "trying" to charge but not charging anything
Try this from OnePlus Customer Support:
2. Power cycle the One by holding the Power button for 20 seconds 5 times.
3. Attempt to start the phone by holding down the Power button along with the Volume down button to start recovery mode and performing a factory reset.

or hold Power button with the Volumn up button to see if you can get into fastboot mode.
lol bro... seriously.. you really think i didnt try that stuff before opening a thread?
I already scanned the entire web and no one with the same issue have posted a fix thread
one plus doesnt even care about their customers
Is this the guide you said you saw? http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unbrick-oneplus-one-t3013732
Why not give it a try? Follow the steps and see if you are able to unbrick your phone.
I mean there's not much you can do if you can't even turn on your device in the first place :/
