thanks

I guessed that is the hardest part which can not be found after 30 seconds of Google, but this is where all the magic happens: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Development

Been there, done that. I wasn't asking for the build guide. I was just telling you the link you posted wasn't one thanks for the link though.

Sure thing, I did not want to offend you in any way, but I am a little tired the level of laziness when people don't want to search the web, just fire up a thread and lean back until somebody does the job for them.

Ive tried multiple links for Gapps, and none of them are working, I'm pretty sure they all point to the same page. does anyone have the latest one I need it for a rom I just flashed.
I have a G2X with an ICS rom,

FYI...forum rules say to post questions in the Q&A forum. Some people will get upset and not explain it in a nice way.
Some devs post their own version. Double check the thread for your rom.

My apologies, I will remember that for the future. thank you for the response though, and yeah i downloaded the hellfire 4.0.4 and the link didnt work. I will just wait.

Lol. I mostly agree. If people use the tapatalk app, it never shows the sticky unless you actually click on the sticky menu...
There's no excuse for not reading the bold letter titled topic though..
But yes, there has been a recent growth of ignorant posts/topics.

Nope. Jim said he's working on an Ubuntu port for SGS3 and CM10.1 for A2:highfive:
first of all WRONG SECTION .......... !!!
i dont think you would be having any restriction posting in any section (by looking at your post nos.)
please read Noobs guide .... we have Q & A section separate !! ... and this (ubuntu for A2) is covered by "Jim" himself
second thing... please SEARCH BEFORE POSTING this is very first basic rule of XDA !!
i'm reporting this to Mods :good:
One line would have been simple enough to do so, but maybe you get payed per word.

No need to forum rage or let a posted in the wrong section ruin a day.

C'mon, 4.1.2 was the last official release. We're not getting 4.2 and we're certainly not getting 4.3 or 4.4. You should know a little about your device before posting questions here.

Is there an official port of this ROM to the skyrocket? I know about rotation fix, flashing kernels, and recovery but even with all those the ROM lags a bit. Is there an actual port I missed? also how would I go about porting this over?

got it, you get a thanks. You have any experience with creating ROMs? I've seen a lot of guide's, would you say this is a beginner guide? lol
You can try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2121128
or this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2196491
I've used the second one for another device and got it to work pretty well. There's other porting guides on XDA. They shouldn't be too hard to find with a quick google search.
If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I'd be making money in a very weird way.

Thread cleaned lightly. Please stay on topic and leave the trolling comments for social media.
Just to relieve some stress from the dev, I've made this Q&A and troubleshooting thread where you can blast your problems and inquiries.
Here is the original development thread.
I'll be updating the OP with FAQs and stuff as and when I get a brainwave.
Not sure if you're aware but q&a threads are generated automatically these days.

I know about those, but they're never used because there's nobody to monitor the thread and answer the thread so the dev thread gets spammed.

Look. I don't want to get into an argument here. It's much easier if someone who's working with the dev created a thread for FAQ and preventing the development thread from getting spammed. I'm just trying to do my job here. If there genuinely is a problem, I'll close the thread.

I'm coming from multiple kernel/ROM threads, and I've always had users go over board with the feature requests, bugs, off-topic, etc.. I wanted this side thread so that it would answer most of those questions that come up. It gets annoying after a while if +10 users ask questions about things clearly in the OP.
It's a good idea in theory, but it still relies on people coming here in the first place, which unfortunately isn't going to be true for most of them. You'll most likely still get the same amount of crap in the dev thread and then a few people here too. But lets hope it works.

Yup. Since the dev and I are working together, he can give all questions the "silent treatment" and make sure others do to. Hopefully, it'll work.

That's usually the plan of attack, but it usually doesn't work. I've had a lot of experience with this, I've created heaps of these dedicated q&a threads in various device sections. People are lazy, they'll continue to post in the dev thread, they don't read the OP, they don't read instructions telling them to post in the separate thread, they don't read. They want answers yesterday and how dare we get in the way by attempting to keep XDA the way it was intended to be in the first place.
