I'm wondering with the S3 now having 4.3, how do we get the photo sphere option in the camera? I know I had installed it before when it first came out but I had to wipe my phone after that and couldn't find the file again that worked. Have there been any updates to this feature and where can we get it for the S3?

Download Titanium Backup from the Google Play store. BACKUP BOTH your gallery app and camera app and then remove then both.
Then go to the link below and download the apk and install.
This camera includes photosphere.
It MAY have bugs but it's worth a try. If you don't like it for whatever reason, just uninstall it and restore your old camera apps.

uninstall stock version - reboot then install modded version and all should work ( sometimes maybe you will need to clean google store cache)

or if you have 3.4 version previously go to phone - applications -> play store uninstall updates ,, rebot then install modded version - just like in any other vendor.apk updates
I have recently installed the Android SDK and found that i could pull system apps form emulators! i used this to get all android apps that i thought would be cool to have and these are the ones i could get to work with no root.
Calculator
DevTools (Development)
Spare Parts
DeskClock
Email
Custom Locale
Music
Terminal Emulator(Can be found in DevTools)
The apps that I tried that DON'T work are:
Launcher
Browser
I don't know if Gallery works or not... i haven't had the chance to try.
EDIT: sorry for cutting off... accidentally hit submit then internet went out :/
EDIT: added more apps that work and linked Gallery for you guys to try out.

Hey just wanted to know since we typically update apps when it shows on playstore would there be any issues for getting updates using this unreleased ver? especially our purchased apps? & also when it would be released as an update officially? Any way to revert back without any side effects just in case?

There won't be any issues with updating the app. ( I'm not sure about paid apps, but they should be fine too I guess) They are rolling it out at some places, it will be available to everyone soon.
And follow what altered said to remove it.

If you don't want to have to deal with downloading this and installing the apk, you can get it to update on its own by going to manage apps then play store services, and then clearing the data. After you have done that, open up the play store and it will have updated on its own.
Anyone have a link to download the inverted version?

I found one, but for some reason it just FCs on my phone. Its a CWM flashable zip.
Try if it works for you. http://db.tt/dMlJzMzX
Or just google for it. There are many sites offering it.
you need to unnistall play store's updates, then go and delete any play store files from within /data/app folder then place downloaded Phonesky.apk inside system/app folder if prompt say yes on replace file , if not , delete vending.apk ,set permissions , reboot and enjoy , just disable all internet connections during that process
Edit : found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231787
Edit2: follow my directions flashable zip doesn't work for us, extract phonesky.apk from zip file

Hmm.. Click on the link below to download the Camera and Gallery app from my ROM... the camera app has Photosphere option.. I hope it should work on your phone too.. Just keep a backup of your current camera and gallery app or better keep a backup of your system partition and then flash mine..
http://www.mediafire.com/?r73sn9nujapvusr
- If you can't see the Photosphere option then that means that your phone can't take photosphere pictures...
- if you get a Force close message then that means that you do.to have the proper GmsCore.apk in your system > app folder

A few months ago I installed the official camera APK for the official Kit Kat release. Recently I uninstalled it and now the original Samsung Camera App became broken.
When I launch the camera it says: Camera Failed. Then it force closes.
In the App properties page it reports a 0.0 file size. So I'm guessing the Kit Kat uninstall broke it.
Does anyone have the original Apk for the camera app on the S3? If so can you post it and share the link? The supposedly installed camera version on my phone is 1.5. I'm guessing it doesn't matter what version I replace it with.
TIA

Hi,
I recently installed CM11 M9 on my samsung S2 (i9100G) and not happy with the default camera app.
It doesn't have panorama, photosphere and other controls that samsung app had
I am also trying to find the original samsung camera apk. tried one from the link above, didn't work It gives error "App not installed" while installing the apk.
I also tried few other .apks i found from other andriod sites
* com.google.android.gallery3d.apk
* com.google.android.GoogleCamera-2.3.019.apk
* Google-Camera-2.2.024.apk
None of them get installed and give the same error as above.
How do i install a better camera app that has better control and choices
thanx,
deepak
I'm not sure which camera apps you are both looking for, but I'm happy to help if you can clarify.
I have 4.1.2 on my S3, so I can provide the Samsung camera if you want that apk. I also have the 4.2 Google Camera app (downloaded from XDA at some point in the past) that I can provide - this includes the photo-sphere and other such features.
Let me know what you want, and I'll find a way to get it to you both...

First of all some of them won't work by just installing the APK file. You have to put them in the system/app folder, fix the permissions for them and reboot, otherwise you will never get them to work

Along with that kind of, I remember a thread way back saying that the camera app required some of the Touchwiz framework to function, i.e. won't ever work on CM.
