When I attempt to "share" all of someone's contact information with another person, only the phone numbers were copied over. This is what I did: I clicked on "People", then I clicked on the "contact" that I wanted to "Share". The "info" page came up and I clicked on "Share Contact". When the "Share contact via" window popped up, I hit "Go SMS Pro". This takes me into my text messaging app, but only copies over the two phone numbers, not the address. How do I "Share" all of a contacts information?

Guessing this may be something to do with Go SMS because when I try this with a different app, e.g. share to Gmail, the entire contact is put in a .vcf format contact email attachment including phone numbers, emails, addresses, web site, and photo.
U will Send by the sms.

When I try to share contact information, there is no "gmail" option in the "Share contact via" window.

Looks like I need to install a different SMS app (I did not like the Hangouts app).

In the contact list, tap and hold to get up the menu. Select 'Send Contact >' and choose your option from there.

its stuck in messages (sms) outbox even when the To: field has an email address.
I did a search for this, but had no luck...
I can not find where the MMS history is in the 'messages' drop down menu... only SMS messages and threaded conversation that contain MMS in that conversation. For instance, I sent a picture to someone not in my Contacts list and later went to retreive that person's number from my message history and it was not there. How do I find 'sent' MMS history?

hey there, if i understand correctly i think you can find a send.txt log file by going the 'file explorer'
then scroll down to 'my documents'
after opening that folder scroll down to 'UAContents'
open that then click the 'MMS Log' folder
scroll through there and there should be both a recv.txt (recieved) and a 'send.txt (which of course should be a log of the MMS's sent from your phone....
at least in my sent.txt i can see the phone number for who i sent a mms to (even if the number is in my contacts though it only shows the number 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx)
good luck...hope that is what you were looking for!

I've done a bunch of searching and can't find the answer for this phone.
Does anyone know how we can select just "My Contacts" instead of "All Contacts" with regards to syncing the Google contact list?
There's gotta be a way. I'm going to check the option to only show contacts with phone numbers but frankly, that option kind of sucks. There should be a better way to do this.
i have the same issue and can't find any setting to sync only My Contacts.
What is even more annoying is that it does not sync the groups i have set in google contacts

I can't find any options to add groups or add contacts to groups. I have only 2 groups listed - google and corporate with no options.
I think Touchwiz completely borked groups.
Yeah, it seems to be a problem with touchwiz because my buddy who's got an EVO has the option available.
Yeah, this is probably the only thing on the Captivate that I haven't been able to fix. It syncs every random Google contact I have, whereas other Android phones I've had would only sync the "My Contacts" group.
You can set contacts to only display people with numbers, if that helps.
You can create groups. Open Contacts then hit menu, create. Then when you open the group there will be an add member on the screen. For existing groups with members, you have to hit menu and then add member to add more.
The other thing is that I keep losing contacts randomly.
I don't understand why this is happening, it's quite frustrating

I still can't follow;
I open contacts and hit create and I get an overlay "save contact to" with 4 choices:
Phone
Sim
Corporate
Google
Only if i choose phone and scroll to the bottom is there an group field (shows unassigned).
EDIT - if i select the group i go to an empty box, but i can hit menu and create a group. Unfortunately every group or contact I create assigned to phone (not corp or google) becomes hidden. If I try to create group with the same name, it says it exists. Trying to create a new contact in "phone" still gives me empty group list.
So TouchWiz is hiding some stuff/data in the interface. Very bizarre.

I forget a step, sorry. You have to select groups after opening contacts.
I used the free AT&T Address Book feature on this phone to create all my contacts on the phone. I then have them linked to my Corporate contacts, Gmail and Facebook. This allows me to assign custom ringtones and manage my contacts using all the features of the phone.
To use the AT&T Address I had to export my contacts from Outlook to a CSV file. I then imported them via the AT&T website (addressbook.att.net). Now I have all my contacts as phone contacts and no longer have the SNS restrictions.
Hello,
I am having an issue with my Captivate and SMS messages, I have a contact that I try to send a text message to from the contact list, originally the contact did not have an area code. I added the change and resynced my google contact list but now every time I try to send a message via the contact list, it shows up as just as the contact name and the number does not have the area code. Inadvertantly gets an error when sending a text message to it! What can I do to fix this issue?
Thank you,
Charlie

I suggest that you log on to Google on you PC and delete and then recreate the contact with the area code...Make sure you resync after you delete the contact and the resync after you recreate it.

Thanks for the reply did that 3x and just did it a 4th time now, still the same, oh well, I will live with it. What is funny if I go into messaging and do a new message then select the contact, works perfectly, but if I go off the contacts, it keeps reverting back.
Thank you,
Charlie
Do you have a nickname field in your contacts? I am pretty sure that on different androids there is one, also my exDialer has a option to search in nickname field, but in my people app I cannot find this field. I have nicknames filled in my outlook, and I can't see them after the sync, nor edit on its own, the filed is just not in contact details.
Anybody know how to enable it or why this is happening?
Thanks

Yes, I have many contacts with nicknames showing. If you enter them in Google Contacts, the field will appear. If you want to add to a contact on the phone, tap the contact, menu->edit, at the bottom there is a button "add another field". Nickname is there.

Boy, I haven't used Outlook (thankfully!) for years now. Maybe the sync doesn't support that field? As I said, it shows up in Google Contacts.

it is really weird. I had google nexus before for testing and nickname was there. And I didn't sync that phone with anything...
EDIT: yeah, you are right. It is because I am using localaccount and not google account. Thanks for pointing this out.
