Hide root for play store app "vipps"

Hello,
I'm trying to use an app from the playstore called "vipps".
It's from a bank in norway called DNB, and it let's you transfer money near instantly from one to another.
This app refuses to run on my phone because it's rooted and have a custom rom etc.
I'm running Xtrestolite Deodexed with the included alliance firmware.
I have read somewhere about Rootcloak Plus with Cydia (no idea what this really is, but i understood cydia is like app store for iOS jailbreaked phones?)
I'm wondering if this exsists on 5.0.2 lollipop (and how to get it / install it if it does), or if there is any other known way of bypassing this applications refusal to run on my device.
I'm on a SM-G920F (international version) if that helps.
Any tips / questions / help regarding this is most welcome and much appreciated!

Try searching for a Xposed Module that does this
I remember there was one for kitkat but i dont know whether or not its currently available for lollipop

I tried to get xposed, but it's not yet compatible with the S6 as far as i know.
Something about SDK version 21 and arm 64 (no idea what this is, but that was the error when trying to install it)

Cydia is for ios based devices and if s6 had xposed that module called root cloak will work for what you need it for. but since theres no xposed. You cant run it.
I second that!
I have the exact same problem! Please let me know if you find a way to bypass the app restrictions!
Same here:
Cyanogen OS 12.0, android 5.0.2, OnePlus One
Tried RootCloak plus app, add no.dnb.vipps app but still does not open.
I have the same issue with a Huawei running 4.4.4 Vipps by DNB does not work.. Xposed says that there is a known issue with the room installed. I deactivated the Resource hoocks, but it did not solve the issue.. BALLS!!

Hi,
I was able to fix the Vipps issue by using Rootcloak version 1.4 (not the newest one), and adding no.dnb.vipps to the list.
Works like a charm on SGS6
Hope this helps!
OPO CyanogenOS 12.1.1 Android 5.1.1 rootcloak vipps
I have a oneplus one With CyanogenOS 12.1.1-YOG7DAS2K1 and android version 5.1.1. The phone is rooted and I have twrp installed.
I used twrp to install Xposed framework 85 trough the link provided in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
Within the xposed installer app I downloaded the module RootCloak version 2.1.0
In rootCloak I added no.dnb.vipps (add/remove apps -> three dots -> add custom app -> write "no.dnb.vipps")
Now I can run vipps without any problems.
Vipps on OPO running cm14.1
Sorry to bring up an old thread.
I've been using this Norwegian bank app on cm12/cm13 with rootcloak for a while now without any trouble. Lately the app just crashed on login when using rootcloak so i decided to flash cm14.1 nightly and see if systemless root and magisk would do the trick instead. I flashed cm14.1, fully unrooted the phone, flashed magisk and phhs systemless root. I downloaded SafetyNet playground, and my phone passes all SafetyNet checks. I also downloaded pokémon GO to verify, and that works flawlessly. Vipps however, does not work... The app does not crash anymore, but i get the message "vipps doesn't support rooted devices".
It seems to me like the app detects that i'm running cyanogenmod. When my oneplus one was new, the app wouldn't work even though i had a locked bootloader and no root. I actually had to unlock bootloader, root, flash xposed and install rootcloak to get it working.
Is there any workaround for this problem? It seems to me that rootcloak did something more than just hide the root from the app. Is this correct? I can upload the .apk file for Vipps if that would be of any help. The app force closes before login with the message "Vipps doesn't support rooted devices", so i dont think region will be a problem.
I too am curious of this.
Is there a way to "fool" an app from checking if there is a custom ROM or original ROM?
I assume the app only checks ROM info, and perhaps that can be easily edited?

Remote Play working for anyone with the K1?

Hello everyone as I am sure most are aware by now but lovely Sony broke remote play for near everyone recently. Requires latest version now and no root allowed.
That being said, is there anyone who is currently able to remote play on their K1 ?
I see tons of stuff on people getting it to work with Magisk root and Magisk Hide, and or super su and xposed with root cloak. I was unsuccessful via the SuperSU and root cloak method on my GPD XD, so that's why I'm curious if anyone was successful on the shield.
I managed to get Magisk and Magisk Hide then I go to install Remote Play apk and it states my device is not supported .. Must be because I'm on Nougat.. So xposed root cloak isn't an option either right now.
I just want to here any success stories before going through down grade process. I have TWRP. But no sense in wasting the time if it won't even work.
If you are successful can you please list method and version you are on.
Thanks!
Was wanting to do the same thing. I guess you need a sony framework with xposed also? Did you try that?
Wait, if you are on nougat, then xposed doesn't work, right? Was thinking I'd have to stay on MM, root, xposed, hide root, sony framework, then remote play apk. Can't say if it works or not.

Yep exactly what I would do. Same thing. I did see in the Remote Play port apk thread that used to work up until recently somone said they got it working on the shield but they didnt really say anymore than that to help confirm.
Another thing i seen is sony apps that check root (remote play, vue) also check for the build.prop file for ' build-release-tag: test-keys ' (paraphrasing youll see it) so if on something custom it will most likely be test-keys rather than release-keys. Apparently changing that made it work for a lot of users who reported as well. So that potentially is another step necessary.
So yeah id like to Downgrade to stock MM and most likely magisk hide it or go the supersu, xposed, rootcloak method.
It would just be nice to hear that someone was already successful and how.
So lame of sony to implement a root check.. Seriously.. Let us pay for it or something if you must.. just give us the option dang.. Though with the demand currently looking at the net a third party option may appear sooner or later. Id hope.
The real killer for me is that I just bought the shield and one of the purposes I had in mind was remote play. In shopping for a tablet I purposely looked to sony's options to get one that wouldn't have this trouble. Ridiculous prices for those if you can find them at all. They are as old as the shield, worse reviews and harder to get. I could buy 3 shield k1's for the price of a z4 tablet on amazon. If you are going to lock your remote play feature behind your hardware, fine, but make a hardware option that people want and can actually find then!

Agreed. Tho with this update they released the app so it supported near all devices now as opposed to only being able to install from playstore on sony devices. So the root check makes no sense to me at all. Maybe they dont want bluetooth ds4 on any devices or something. Idk.. dont get it.
Lol spoke too soon they dropped the compatability and blocked installation on my devices that previously could install it from play store.

Not sure I follow what you are saying here. I'm pretty sure the remote play only works on Sony devices, not all unrooted devices. Or an I missing something? I haven't rooted my shield yet, and if that's all it takes then I won't root. Are you referring to the Playstation app that lets you do 2nd screen stuff? That's the only thing I see in the play store at all.
I'm willing to root and try it out given a couple things maybe someone can answer.
Are there any negative effects to the nvidia apps (like geforce now) to flashing the Sony framework stuff?
Can you apply the newer updates (nougat or even 1.5 MM) after rooting without loosing data?
Ok, I'm down to try something. CJD14, I saw your post in the remote play apk thread. Good stuff.
From your post:
Seems the preferred method.
Root with Magisk
Enable Magisk Hide
Install Magisk Sony Framework Module
Install PS4 Remote Play 2 Apk
Dont open it.
Add Remote Play to the Hidden list for Magisk Hide.
Reboot
Confirm root status in Magisk Manager.
Open Remote Play now and should no longer detect root.
SuperSu method etc.
Be rooted
Flash Xposed Framework
Install Xposed Installer
Download RootCloak Xposed Module
Install PS4 Remote Play 2 apk
Dont open it.
Open RootCloak
Add com.playstation.remoteplay to the list of apps
Enable RootCloak in Xposed Installer > Module tab.
reboot to complete.
Should no longer detect root.

For that preferred method, I don't see any evidence of anyone using MagiskSU on shield. Do we know that root method will work?
And I'm not familiar with that method, is it only one flash that installs Magisk and SU?
(I've been sitting out of the ROM flashing game for a few years and this stuff has passed me by a bit)
Edit:
Wait a minute...
If the Magisk method doesn't require xposed, can't you use it on Nougat?

As for the Magisk on Shield. Im sure it should work. It seems to work on many devices and since the Shield itself supports Root other ways then i highly doubt there will be any issues with getting Magisk installed.
And Magisk not requiring Xposed your right. It Very well could work on Nougat.
My sheild is rooted and on Nougat. Not sure why didnt think of that but i will give that a try then. Ill swap from SuperSU to magisk tonight or tomorrow and see how it goes. Else ill try downgrading tomorrow.
Sony framework wont effect any Nvidia stuff. Its a whole seperate thing. Just a few libraries and a dualshock app. It is strictly for support of Remote Play.

Do I understand from twisted's original thread that even getting it working is imperfect now? Sounds like DS4 doesn't work? And your stuck with buttons the screen? Dammit Sony!
I'd kinda like Nougat myself (quite a few Nvidia fixes from the version mine is on), so I'm hoping you can report that works for you.
I just posted on the other thread... But now i found you....... You maybe have a link for me where i can find a Sony framework for xposed? I tried by Google but i only find how to install xposed on a Sony device...

I have great news to report.
Good catch on the Magisk because it worked.
I got it working this way.
I have TWRP installed already.
I was rooted with SuperSU already on Nougat.
I installed Magisk Manager
Downloaded and installed Magisk in the app which detected TWRP rebooted and installed.
Enabled Magisk Hide.
installed Remote Play 2.0 APK
Opened Magisk
Downloaded the Sony Framework within magisk
Enabled it
Uninstalled the SuperSU application.
Added remote play in the Magisk Hide list.
Rebooted (may be unessecary)
Bam Remote Play doesnt detect root and works all but the DS4 wont pair sadly..
Though i guess there is a method to get controller working while near the Ps4. Ill test now.
The onscreen controls disappear when not touched.
Heres some pictueres. Screenshots are blocked in app.

If you are @ home you need a second user. User #1 will be you main player account. User#2 will be used for the remote play.
You sign in with the tablet/smartphone by using user#2
After that you just pick your DS4 controller and sign in directly to the ps4 with user#1 just like you play on your TV. The remote play will just be used to show the screen and hear the sound. The controlls go directly to the ps4. This will only work @ home if the controller is in range of the PS4.
Did you try to connect via OTG?

Perfect. That worked. No probs. Thanks for posting that here.
This works great and all i use remote play for is when im in bed. I have a crappy setup thats uncomfortable for playing directly, so this is perfect.
OTG did not attempt yet. Gotta locate my OTG adapter.
Will of course update if successful.
EDIT UPDATE:
Found USB OTG. No success. Plugging it in, the controller goes in charging state with yellow slow blink on light pad. Tablet accepts input from it. But doesnt do anything in the Remote Play app itself. Unfortunately..
Sixaxis Controller did nothinf to help as attempting to use USB with it shows Unable to Find USB Interface. Though maybe im doing it wrong.
Anyway. Looks like the in home method with second account is only way now anyways.
Watch sony will soon break that in update 4.5.0.1 or something idiotic. Messed up..

Good news! Think I'll start fresh from nougat then. Not rooted yet, so now I'll root a fresh nougat. Downloading the ota first.
Thanks for reporting!
Btw guys, you don't need supersu if you use magisk (though they are compatible) as magisk is also a root solution.
Thanks to your guide CJD14 (with slight modification because I wasn't rooted yet), I was able to get remote play working on my shield. I first downloaded the OTA to nougat, then rooted using magisk.
And better still, I got the DS4 to work.....sorta.
DS4 connects to nougat natively as android gamepad. To pair it:
- go to bluetooth settings on tablet
- hold options+ps buttons until led begins to flash. You should now see "android gamepad" in the bluetooth options as a pairable item
Once paired, you can use it to navigate around and play any games that support android gamepad profiles. To use it with remote play, you need to map the buttons to the screen using the Shield's built in Game Mapper function (no need for sixaxis app).
- open remote play app
- connect to your ps4
- hold the options button on the ds4 until the game mapper options display
- map all buttons of the ds4 to the screen
(I would suggest NOT to map the options button so that you can continue to use it to access the game mapper profile, just tap the screen for options. Same with PS button)
Thanks for your help!
I was able to pair the DS4 with my smartphone too... But i don't have a shield device. Unlucky me....

Hi, I can confirm the magisk method is working on Shield K1 tablet on marshmallow. Did the following:
- first, should be rooted
- installed magisk thru twrp
- downloaded and enabled sony framework within magisk
- sideloaded remoteplay 2.0
- hide it in magisk
- uninstall supersu app (so you won't get the 88001003 error)
- reboot
- run remoteplay app
Done!

"Cannot Create Work Profile" Error

I recently downloaded an app called "Island" from the google play store and stumpled across this problem:
"The security policy prevents the creation of a work profile because a Custom OS has been installed on this device.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 (7.0)
Rooted with Unofficial Xposed Framework (by PurifyOS)
Also have Superkernel v2.70 installed.
Is there a way to bypass this using an Xposed module or other rooted applications?
You can try xTouchWiz Xposed module which has a function to fake the system status as Official instead of Custom under the security hacks section.
Alternatively you can use Magisk which should hide everything but Xposed from apps.
What worked for me was connecting the device to wifi or putting in an activated sim card before doing the work profile setup process.
Same problem here (S9 Soldier Rom), did someone made it work?
No one yet?
Has anyone gotten this to work?

I don't have Xposed but I recently rooted with Magisk. And MagiskHide is not working for this. Do we have to hide system apps as well? I actually get this error when I add my Gsuite work account.

Am I able to install xposed for Nougat on my phone.

I can't connect to a pc because the micro usb port is either not acceping data or all my cables don't transfer. I just want to know if it's safe to install so i don't have to worry about never being able to reflash.
Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
It is safe, flashing xposed itself won't cause any issues it just depends what modules you use...
download Xposed framework and apk from Rovo89's thread:

Framework: http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk24/arm64/

(FIXED)How to fix app not installed after xposed

Hi there!
Hope everyone is okay... Good.
So these days many users are having issues with installing apps after xposed but here is temporary but working solution.
when you install xposed, and all the module's then you reboot the fone , you'll see that all the modules are working but apps are not installing from Google Play store and Also from file explorer the apps you downloaded.
You simply have to do is that Go to xposed installer and turn of the xposed module. After turning off Just soft reboot your phone, copy that? Just soft reboot.
The fone will reboot and All modules will still be working as was before. Also you'll be able to install apps from Google play store and from file explorer too.
Just give it a try,if you are having the same issue.
Hit thanks if it worked for you.
(Tested on Lg v20 stock rom running android 7.0. xposed version is 88.2)
