Hi all,
I'm sorry if my question is kinda dumb, I already looked in the forum but I can't find an answer or someone experiencing the same issue.
I recently got a GS3 SCH-i535 which I'm currently using with Movistar from Mexico.
I configured the APN and I can't get 3G or 4G to work, but it works fine over EDGE. The problem is that when the phone is receiving data over EDGE I can't receive phone calls and I think messaging is not working either. The problem ends when I turned off mobile data, everything goes back to normal.
I already unlocked the bootloader, rooted the phone and flashed it with BoneStock 4.3 to see if changing the ROM fixed the problem... the ROM works like a charm, but it didn't solve the issue.
Any ideas or is this something I'll have to live with the rest of my life?
Thanks in advance

Hey guys, I just got an HTC One S (t-mobile version but unlocked) and I started using it on Mobilicity. The calling and texting work fine but for some reason the data is not. I have tried restarting the mobile network but that hasn't helped. I have read about a similar problem someone had but one of the possible solutions was something about an APN setting which I have no idea about (sorry I'm new here ). Can anyone help?
try this thread, it might help you

You need the correct APN settings for data to work.
Follow the above thread for settings for your carrier.
That helped alot, it seems to be working fine now, thanks a lot.
I can't get any sort of data signal at all from my phone! IT's already been 3 days since this happened and I can't change my APN, nor does switching the modem version work, what do I do?? I would really hate to call AT&T because they'll just blame the phone being rooted and expect me to go back to stock Gingerbread.
So someone please help me so that I wouldn't have to do that!

Have you tried ODIN back to stock to eliminate any potential external issues? I saw your post yesterday in my APN thread. At this point I would go back to stock and see if that helps and then from there root/flash the ROM of your choice.

Have you checked if you have your IMEI number?.? *#06# on dialer or look through the phone info in settings...
I had this issue once. This is what worked for me: settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > use packet data [should be checked] ~ data roaming [should be unchecked]. My issue may have been different than urs. Good luck.

I just installed the new CM 10.1 and I have the same problem. Actually I've had it mostly with all the JB softwares out there that I tried. Could the signal problem be related to the IMEI? I think I've lost, indeed, my IMEI by changing to JB but could that be my problem? Yesterday I placed a few phone calls and it worked. Now it just random disconnects and it woun't allow me to make any phonecalls. Also it takes 5-10 minutes before it connects to the network (Vodafone - if it makes any difference). I just figuered it was a modem problem but you got me wondering.
Thanks
Hey Guys!
I swear I read this some where before, but I can't find it now: Somebody was talking about the N5 binaries being posted recently and noticed that CDMA wasn't mentioned. Another person chimed in and said that ASOP ROMS wouldn't work the same, or as well, when using a nexus 5 on Sprint. Can anybody elaborate on that? I understand that CDMA was an issue for ASOP on older devices.
I am using DroidKang v2 which is the latest unofficial nightly for CM11 on my Sprint. My signal is low on the LTE, might be a problem where tri-band is not activated on AOSP? Also PRL provisioning does not work in the settings.
Kangkat works for me. I first found out about this issue when I tried to flash purity rom. My data was just gone, but could make phone calls. Is it something with the rom or on sprint's side? Its very disappointing.

With kangkat, you have full (voice /data/sms/mms) network functionality? But with purity you did not?
Looks like most devs are fixing the issue. :good:

Mine worked on the stock rom, make sure your setting is set to GLOBAL then you will get the Carrier menu. However I had to put my Nexus back to AT&T because it would constantly Random Reboot once the screen turned off. Very odd.
Ok. So I have come into possession of an unlocked D850 and I am using it on the t-mobile network. Everything about the phone works fine except MMS. I have tried several different APN settings and still cant get picture messages. LTE is working fine on Fast.Tmobile.com. I have tried everything I know how to do. Even tried flashing a couple custom roms (cloudy/CM12) and still no MMS. Anyone got any ideas?

It's most likely going to come down to APN settings. Unless somewhere in your T-Mobile account is blocked.

I am on AT&T and installed Adblock Plus and lost mms, it is a known problem with AT&T but don't know if it also causes problems on T-Mobile.
I dont have adblock installed. The apn settings im using have worked on my Nexus 5, Moto X, LG g2, Htc One, and literally every other phone ever!. Ive flashed back to full stock rooted and still no mms. It cant be the root messing up my MMS could it? My bootloader is unlocked, Im on TWRP with superSU and bussybox. I tried to post screenshots of My APN settings but since im a new user it wouldent let me.

I believe you are correct however I have tried every T-mobile APN setting I can find. Now for the weird part. I installed AOSP on the phone and it would send MMS no problem. So I checked to see what APN it was defaulting to and copied that then flashed back over to stock, plugged in the same exact APN and still no MMS. Im so confused. Why would MMS work on AOSP but not on stock based roms?
Hello,
since an update to 5.1.1 my Z3 i'm not able to use mobile Internet anymore. Sometimes after restart it works for a while sometimes using WCDMA instead of LTE works. But these workarounds allways work for a small periode.
It seems to be that other in Germany have the same problem, Sonysupport tells me to do a Faktoryreset.
Has anybody noticed the same bug is there a solution?

I woul recomend to reflash the same version using Androxyde Flashtool without wiping data and system. Seems like modem/baseband upgrade problem.

I am not sure if T-Mobile in USA is customer reflashable... Otherwise I would use flashtool/xperifirm to download latest 5.1.1 and flash it clean.
So I'm not the only one. What a strange bug. I'm on ATT in the US using the D6603 on straight talk. Just like you guys, HSPA works fine but LTE does not work aside from certain apps... very strange

It is known that US providers do a nasty things to firmware in order to "protect" subsidized phones, however don`t know if it is also case of ATT and T-Mobile. However, I would highly recommend you make a clean install of 5.1.1 (you can download latest .570 / .580 firmware with XperiFirm) if you can.
The problem has fixed itself. I'm not sure what happened, but my LTE signal is now working fine.

May that be a problem on provider's side..
