Here we go with yet another unlock solution.
This one applies to almost (if not all) devices which are radio S-off, it’s fairly easy to use and doesn’t wipe data/settings nor have that ugly side effect (when using diag files) in which you lose conectivity to mobile network.
Supported devices so far:
HTC Sensation (pyramid)
HTC Evo 3D (shooter)
HTC EVO 3D GSM (shooteru)
HTC myTouch Slide 4G
Click to collapse
(by the use of revolutionary)
and:
Sprint EVO 4G
Droid Incredible (HTC Incredible)
HTC Desire CDMA (HTC BravoC)
Click to collapse
(by the use of unrevoked 3 – not tested)
These are the required steps you have to take:
1. S-off your phone by using Revolutionary (if you haven’t already done that).
2. Fill in the form with the required data. This will generate an unique Config.dat file for your device. Please enter a valid email address, as you’ll be sent there the link to download the file.
This step you'll have to take here
3. Put the file on the root of your sdcard and reboot your phone into HBOOT (adb reboot oem-42). Once you’re there, navigate to Simlock and press Power. The phone will load the file and remove the simlock. Some text will appear on the screen and at a certain point you’ll be asked to press Vol-Up to restart the phone.
4. Just do it, and you’ll be done!
PLEASE NOTE!:
This solution is heavily linked to the device it's being applied to by the use of IMEI, which can be considered a breach in security.

This solution provided for you on this site is given AS IS and in GOOD FAITH and is based on the research I made. I may not accept any liability or responsibility for the use of this applicaton.
If you find this tool useful and appreciate my work, Paypal me a beer, it helps development a lot..
This really should be in the development section.

if you just need a SIM unlock, call T-Mobile and they will give you an unlock code. there is no need to fuss around with complex steps.

Not for certain circumstances.. T-Mobile will only give it you you if you meet some criteria.. i.e. you're account has been active for 6 months.. I don't know what the actual criteria are.. that was just an example...
not to mention that you have to wait over 24hours to get the email with the unlock code.. this method was a lot faster than a half hour phone call with a t-mobile rep.
I was a customer for about 6 days and was given the code over the phone.

Just unlocked my friend's MT4GS and it works great with her prepaid running on AT&T's network! This method works great.
Link in my sig has another way using terminal emulator. Ill add this to the compendium

Silly question but, this method will not work on a mytouch 3g slide right? I mean can revolutionary sim unlock a mt3g?

Rev is used to gain s off that's all. Which allows unsigned flashing
As for the unlock methods you may want to test this out my sig has this method and one using terminal emulator method no idea if they will work.

I know this thread is WAAAAY old, but wanted to let people know this still works.
I went to this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801106
And followed the instructions to achieve S-OFF on a stock ROM. Then followed the instructions from the post.
For returning to stock, I just had to google the filename to find a working mirror, as those provided in the articles don't seem to be working. Thanks OP!
my touch 4g Slide NO CALLS with S-off sim unlocked METROpCS
So its 2014.. I know I should get a better phone.. Good news its I got my my touch 4g slide bootloader unlocked and S-off. Also did the sim unlock on the site that emails you back the file and unlocks the sim.. BUT here is my problem
when I put my metro sim in the phone.. no matter which rom I load (which I can now load rom recovery from sd) the phone wont work..
When I go into the settings metropcs and att show up but when I try and select it, it tells me not allowed right now, or sim card doesn't allow that connection. So I cannot get it to work. Is there a way they are locking sim cards to their phones?
I would have thought getting S-off and running the simlock file I'd be good to go.. Anyone PLZ help I am desparate to figure out what is wrong here.
Picture Of S-off UNLOCKED bootloader NO SVC
Here is a picture of the phone.. Likewise no SVC with metro sim.. I don't have a tmobile card to test with but I think either the sim lock didn't work, or metropcs is somehow locking the sim to IMEI
Anyone with ideas here plz help. If it is IMEI to sim is there a way to unlock sim or change iMEI? I know its illegal to change an ESN but imei..
Also if its blacklisted would it be blacklisted for metro too?

So I thought of a couple things. With a little research, one got shot down right off the bat:
http://www.phonescoop.com/carriers/carrier.php?c=11
http://www.gsmarena.com/t_mobile_mytouch_4g_slide-4018.php
Some carriers use weird frequency bands that the phone wouldn't support. MetroPCS uses 1700 or 1900MHz (depending where you are), which the phone totally covers. So not that.
Related to that though, is the APN settings. If you have more than one (my Rogers setup has 4), it may be stuck on an APN that just isn't working for you. So Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.
Finally (just thought of it), you may want to test your MetroPCS SIM card on a different (smart)phone. I had recent problems with my SIM (I guess it was swapped out too many times, besides being 6-7 years old), although it worked fine on a feature phone. And if you can get your hands on a different SIM (T-Mobile or otherwise), and encounter the same problem, it could very well be a (hard-to-resolve) problem with the phone. If it is blacklisted, it would be blacklisted nationally if not internationally, and there is an IMEI database to check it against:
http://www.imei.info/
Hope this helps.
Check your imei for blacklist status on the tmo website. MetroPCS is now wholly owned by TMo, it shouldn't need to be unlocked. AT&T and Tmo share blacklist data as well. If your phone is sketchy you are out of luck.
If the SIM is old you might try a new one and see if that helps.

ok So my cousin has a metro. Tried her sim, same results. So I said hmmm. Stuck her metro sim in my metrophone and vice versa. Same result.. So I I am thinking witgh 4g unlimited they are locking the sims. Called and wa told they marry the sim to the imeI. LOOKS like the days of swapping sims to different phones are over. Anyone know a way around this PLZ let me know. ALSO tethering would be cool but i'll google that.. comes as an FYI

I was looking into this, and this forum thread came up:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...-married-to-ESN-of-one-phone-only-that-sucks!
Looks like you can transfer phones by letting MetroPCS know of the new IMEI, but you cannot register two (or more) IMEI's for the same SIM. So depends on how you want to use your Doubleshot. I'd give them a call (or better yet, go into their store), maybe the old IMEI will still work (the thread was a bit iffy on this result) with the new (Doubleshot) one entered.
Thanks

Wow! so that's a bummer. I really like the doubleshots keyboard but I think the exhibit from them is better. Although I tried several firmwares on it and Netflix will no longer work with custom roms (thank DRM for that) I did get hella mods to this one, but would love to have both, I was thinking the sim was somehow locked. I have a sim reader any software to check? copy clone??? new to GSM, but know lots about CDMA.. I wish it were easy to just clone IMEI like ESNS
I thought this was going to be pretty easy, since a few people told me that all I had to do was get ATT to unlock the phone, insert a Polish SIM card and I would be good to go. I'm having problems right off the bat. I'm in rural Poland and I only have a limited amount of time to use a connection shared by lots of people, so I can't exactly research the problem for hours and hours. I'm asking here as a last resort. I would love to even offer a reward of $20 USD or bitcoin if someone can help me get this working, I know there are sites out there that let you do this but I don't have time to find them. If someone wants to help me, I can set up the reward and would gladly pay it.
Anyway, the first problem I'm running into is at first inserting the new T-Mobile Poland SIM, and entering the unlock code provided by ATT, it says the unlock was unsuccessful. I'm not sure if it'll be easy to use after this point.
After successfully unlocking the SIM, I think there might be a couple of steps I have to do. Would I need to put a new baseband/radio on it? I currently have 0.19as.32.09.11_2_10.105.32.25L.
I'm also running Cyanogen Mod 10.1-20130307-NIGHTLY-evita, kernel version 3.0.67-GC33BB4D [email protected] #1 Thu Mar 7 00:33:22 PST 2013.
The last thing I think I might need to set is the Network Operator and APN setting.
I'll try to check back in 12 hours and 24 hours.
Thanks very much.

The basebands are hardware. You cannot change them, if the basebands supported by the phone do not match the carrier, it won't work.
Secondly, from what I understand unlocking will not work on CM. You need to flash a sense rom to unlock, you can flash CM back on after.
Lastly, yes you will need to enter the proper APN settings for the new carrier.
Good Luck.
*edit* I just read you're offering a reward. I did not help you for the reward and no reward is necessary, please let me know if this advice helped get it working so I know for future reference.

If I'm lucky I can finish downloading a sense rom and try to do some stuff offline. I'll let you know if it works tomorrow.
Thanks very much.
Regarding the baseband hardware, I know there are some hardware components but I thought there were different firmware or some such versions you can load to it.

You can flash different radio firmware images which will improve/decline signal but network compatibility will not change:
2G Network
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network
LTE 1800 / 2600
As said, revert to a Sense ROM, and try the unlock code again.
If it still doesn't work, there is a reputable cheap eBay seller who sells unlock codes for HTC phones including the One XL. I got my unlock code off him when my carrier code didn't work.
PM me if you want to know the sellers details/link.

Im certain I'm posting this in the wrong area, but I am thus far, unable to locate a specific thread for the evil MetroPCS Galaxy s3....or any generic CDMA thread. (That & I'm about as tech savvy as a rhinoceros)...
Im trying to 'unlock' (?) an SCH-R530m.. (the cdma GS3 with the infamous 14 digit imei/esn) so I can reuse it with MetroPCS.
I was stupid & tried to do the right thing when I lost... then found my phone. I called ins company and confessed the truth, that I found it....I sent back the one they'd sent me & in the end, I basically ended up with nothing, cause they LOCKED my original (lost... then found) phone & refused to unlock it! Yep, even after I returned the replacement... oh I now know that no good deed goes unpunished)...
Anyway, I just want to reuse it with Metro. That's it.. But when I get to the last step... (as described, below).. I can't get any further.
I type in:
1. *#22745927
2. *#197328640# and it brings up the factory service menu (very usefull)
3. Select (1) UMTS
4. Select (1)Debug Screen
5. Select (8) Phone Control
6. Select (6)Network lock
I get option in this menu, so I type in 11863", wait for about 60 secs (instructions say to then 'go back) but I cannot go back. Once I type in 11863 I'm unable to go any further....
I'm desperate here. I've literally been looking for an answer for 8 months.
Id appreciate any help!
Thanks.

Ahhhh......you forget MetroPCS is BOTH CDMA and GSM, at least right now.....remember, my question shows this was an actual Metro phone and was a CDMA....which they dont even offer anymore.... Anyway, I should have actually used the term unblacklist rather than unlock.....
Also, I already figured out how to do it, myself....6 months ago
Thanks for the response, though! Id been looking on occasion to see if anyone had bothered to answer it. I think I posted this way back.like last Oct or something.....

i would like some info on what/how you did this. did you "sim" unlock the phone, or just re-allow it to be used on Metro through them?
looking to actually get mine on T-Mobile...
Paid some guy locally $25 to flash another 4g phone's ESN onto it.
That said... I lost the 4g on it. It worked fine otherwise. I could send/receive MMS and had zero problems.
So I was messing around in the ##3282# settings, and I clicked "Edit Mode". I thought, "Well, let's guess." I inputted six zero's, and to my surprise, it was the correct MSL code. I don't know how this is but now I can edit the stuffs. Also, this phone has Band 25 LTE 0_0 I didn't know that. Can any of you Cricket users verify that this is only me?
MSL Reader (see the play store) gives it to you if you are properly rooted. Its how I retrieved mine. But I know six zeros won't work on K2_CL lol.

I dont know all the specs behind it cause there was tons and tons of info and I kinda spiderwebbed out of control reading it. But the jist I got is this PRL's APN's and all that get more credit then what they are deserved. Yes to have a proper one is beneficial but its more about the codec's the radio signal of the phone and towers your connecting to and the system files in your phone itself that will allow you to do what you need to. I am still piecing things together but I am working on a finalized cricket fix to allow the use of LTE, the use of gsm or cdma and the use of European roms. It has become quit the undertaking but before you jump in and start changing files that were initially fine I would properly educate your self on the pros and cons changing the prl.
As of yet I am pretty sure Tmobile wont flash the phone nor will our phone work on the Tmobile network

Lol I was just going through threads and it's also helpful info for others as well
I have an HTC one SV from Cricket, I like the phone but am not "In love" with it. My problem is this- I just bought the phone then changed providers due to poor service at my address. Since my phone has a SIM card I thought I could switch to AT&T but the phone never accepted the new SIM. AT&T couldn't find out why, Cricket told me their was no unlock code, HTC said it wouldn't work until they ran the date of manufacture and MEID# then all changed.HTC told me to get the msl and I can change the network settings so I I can use GSM instead of CDMA. Any warnings, advice or instructions?? Out of severe stubborn motives, if at all possible I want this HTC on GSM just to prove that I can lol.

yes you can. you can either pay someone to do it for you (there are a few people offering that service) or you can fiddle with it yourself. I just got mine working on selectel, which from a flashing perspective is the same as pageplus.

So it there a sort of tool for this? Also from your post prl 53340 works with Boost?
cdma workshop (paid) or dfs will let you flash it over with voice+text and 1x data (with some luck). 3g will *not* work until someone figures out how to update the mobile IP settings (HA and AAA keys). I spent a good month doing just this-- manually reviewing every single nv item that I was able to dump. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like 3g will be a possibility without more people getting involved (or just straight up not possible).

Can you please stop posting this misinformation. It is possible. I've been using a boost moto g on pageplus w/ 3G data for the last week. The means to do so exactly are known to the professional flashers and they are keeping it secret. Frankly I think its probably rather straight forward if you have the paid version of cdma workshop and have flashed phones before.
also you should be able to get 1x data with the free versions.

It's not misinformation... I specifically said it's not known good to do it until someone figures it out, which obviously people have, but charge for. This thread is about the random Joe being able to do it.
Dfs just updated the profile for it (free) so is possible now. Activate phone on boost on a daily use plan, program and verify data works (this step is crucial it unlocks the nv items that otherwise are read only by cdmaws and dfs), and note down the spc, swap in mdn, min, set up the 3g stuff as any other flash, write spc as 000000, ota. If you still don't have 3g (anything after the first two batches made for boost), a donor phone will be needed to grab the keys. Once you have them, write it in via dfs and you're good to go. Just did 8 boost phones for people on kittyforums (for free, there are two people who charge $35 to $40 to do it for you).

Learn to read better. At what point did I say I did it myself but that it is possible and my belief that its not as complicated as others might lead you to think it is. As well as whats possible with the free version. How is that not helping.
As to your last question you need to answer that yourself then crawl back into your hole.

interesting...though not sure if you have to activate it. I paid to have mine done remotely and don't think he activated it on boost because he didn't have control on dialing and I didn't dial to activate it. Also I'm pretty sure I had 3g off till the end to confirm 3g on pageplus. So if your steps work great, but I think there another way as well.
The "professional" flashers might be doing it another way, but the above is how I've been able to accomplish it. Some devices don't have locked HA and AAA key fields, so no need to activate for those. If it is locked however, the only way I've found to make them writable is to activate on Boost first (cheapest option is what, $3?). He would have had to activate on Boost to get the SPC, at the last, as that's something that can't be calculated just yet for this device (the CDMA WS calculator in the latest paid version throws out a completely different SPC than what the phone actually has).
The password for the phone also unlocks certain NV items, not sure if HA/AAA are included as I'm out of devices to play with. Not at my desktop at the moment, but I'll post it when I am as it's a somewhat universal password (applies to all US and Canadian CDMA Moto G's, other CDMA providers unconfirmed).

Good for you! I've provided two alternate methods in case the apps don't work: Activate (free) on Boost and grab it off the last page, or call em up and ask for it.

If you read things properly, you would see I was talking about two different things... the SPC is needed for writing the MDN, MIN, etc, while the full service activation is needed to unlock the HA/AAA key fields. You don't need to spend a penny to get the SPC from Boost, just activate and grab it off of the last page (before payment). If you need to get your keys though if ota doesn't work properly, you will need to activate *service* on it.
