I've been reading that there may be some build quality issues, with the N5.
One issue is the screen is prone to breaking after a slight drop?
Any comments here regarding this?
Thanks all.

Nope, already been discussed ad nauseam
There are about a thousand threads about this. Just do a quick search.

Take these post with a grain of salt
Things break when you drop them, don't drop it.
I feel like there are a hundred threads asking this question.
Agree most phones will have a cracked screen if dropped.. Depends whether you are willing to get a case or if u like the N5 naked.

The screen is glass, and it behaves accordingly.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It's gorilla glass 3. If it breaks, almost any other phone would have broken as well. I really wouldn't worry about the build quality. It's pretty impressive.
People have to stop making these threads. There is already a 100+ page long thread called "Nexus 5 Defects".

Go buy a camera. This is a phone. Do your research before you go and drop hundreds on a smartphone. Make sure you know the hardware your buying.

So I have read several places using minfreemanager helps with HOX multitask issues somewhat. My question is to what extent? Can you say use web browser, answer a text, then come back to same spot? What about same thing with gaming, streaming music in background and using gps? I really really love this phone, AMAZING display and build design. I am even willing to deal with the 10gb HD, but I stream music, read ebooks and use GPS alot. I just left sprint and want this phone sooo bad. Any input or personal experience on the matter will be appreciated and +1'd thanks!
A lot of people looking, must be.wondering the same thing...

just flash cleanRom and there is an option to flash multitasking Mod

Well lots of people don't read the Q and A section and I wanted advice/testimony from a good amount of people. If you have a problem with it you can always simply leave my thread(s) or create your own forums and tell people what to do in them. Plus two is nice because someone always seems to come along a derail a thread...

Multitasking st of the active People here read both, the mods will just lock/delete/merge the thread anyways.
All I was trying to say is that having two threads with identical topics isn't necessary you noticed before u ported how this one had nothing useful but your other thread does?

Thanks for the heads up. Anyways..how's your multitasking after.flashing roms?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Cleanrom with the multitasking mod definitely helps a lot, but it's still not perfect. You can run more apps than stock, but some apps still reload after a certain period of inactivity. Without source, I think that's the best we have for now.

So you think its something that can be fixed with source? That's good then because I can wait.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
cleanRom with multitasking gives you 4 or 5 apps running at the same time..so thats pretty sufficient for me..anyway..you can also use aokp or aosp Rom based so that you can enjoy multutasking as it was suppose to be

That's cool because I've heard someone on here say they have to by law release source within a certain amount of time, don't remember how long after release think it was 90 days.

Your prob right but I don't see why. At& t should be happy and feel privileged that they are the only ones to get the HOX and leave it at that (ya I know there's the EVO but that phone is fugly).

Have you tried looking at the forums for phones you might be interested in, then comparing the most active ones that way?

Has anyone found a fix for the wired volume? It is terrible. I come from a HTC One and never really used my Nexus until recently. It just terrible. Power Amp can't help it. I use Beat Studios 2.0 and it just sounds really meh.

Pretty much this. The HTC One has vastly superior sound and it's the one thing I miss about it. The Nexus has one downward-facing speaker as opposed to 2 front-facing speakers so it's always going to be rubbish in comparison
Do a search there are about 3-5 threads on this with downloads. Why beats seems to be the end all be all is beyond me.

Hey, so I Just upgraded my moto to 4.4.4 in the UK, and now there's a sort of smudge on my screen near the center left of the display, its very obvious when i use my phone in bed, and it annoys me non stop. The smudge looks like a white fingerprint but its on the display, like a dead pixel or something which it obviously isnt. I will take a photo on my tablet so you can see it, as unsurprisingly it doesnt show up in screenshots. I would greatly prefer software alternatives over hardware ones due to the fact im in quite a rural area. Thanks, Neo

Here's a "better" photo, as my moto has the best camera of my devices, and my tab 2 has a 3mp shooter so the quality ain't great.
EDIT: been blow drying to seemingly no gain, will try later. In the meantime, any other ideas?
