[Q] Does nandroid backuprestore Xprivacy (Xposed) defaults? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
For anyone who uses xposed installer with Xprivacy, I wanted to know if a nandroid backup restores the specific permissions I set in Xprivacy? Or will I have to re set them all over again?
What about titanium backup? What if I restore Xprivacy from there?
P.s. Missed putting space between backup and restore in title..can't change it now :/
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Nandroid is a direct clone if everything except your /sdcard so it will keep everything.
Titanium backup takes down an app and its settings so it will keep everything

hi
I used ''sms backup&restore '' on both my old phone and my N5,First made copy from my old phone ,then copied that file from my old phone memory to N5 internal storage .
then just did a restore , and it ill show up in hangout ,if does not ,just go and clear app data from settings for hangout app .
that all .
hope it will work for u.

Where do custom ringtones go?

Neither /media/audio/ringtones nor /ringtones work for me :/
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The same place they have always gone in android. Any folder called /ringtones on your /sdcard. Mine actually pick up from /sdcard/documents/phone stuff/ringtones (by accident).
Please ask questions in q&a. General is not for questions. Please use the report /!\ button to request your thread be moved

Sorry for posting in the wrong section.
As mentioned above, I have copied my ringtones to the /sdcard/ringtones and to /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones. Neither worked
After I used ES explorer to select a custom ringtone, android settings showed 'unknown ringtone' and constantly FCed.
All my ringtones worked perfectly on the GNexus and N4.
I'm just answering the thread title
Your locations are correct.

Ah, I finally found out how it works - all ringtones MUST be copied via MTP from the computer... It is not sufficient to transfer them via WLAN.

Weird for you. I didn't transfer mine via mtp. Mine occurred as a wireless sync to SMB network drive connection.

Register as beta tester : doenload beta 1.5.6 and the job will be done
SOLVED
For everyone who is facing this issue. If you backup your messages using "SMS Backup+" and after upgrading to KitKat 4.4.2 if restoring not work, just install this app from the Play Store "App Ops Starter" (Need Root Access) and give write permission to "SMS Backup+". That's all, you are good to go. :highfive:
Work for me on, Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 (Rooted) - 4.4.2 KitKat (Samsung Unofficial Leak 2) & SMS Backup+ 1.5.5 (Play Store Version).

So I guess the only way is to decomplie the apk?
Hi,
If I understand right you want only the icons, right?
Use Winrar (it's the one I use) and just open the apk with Winrar. Then go to /res/drawable-xhdpi (or drawable-hdpi, it depends) and search for an icon called "ic_launcher.png", it's the icon of the app...
All the apps, as far as I know, have this icon named like that for their icon as you see in your app drawer for example, maybe just the location could change.
Then you can use the icon to replace another one.
No need to decompile, just open the apk with Winrar, or at least with Root Explorer you can also (but for me it's more convenient on PC), click on the apk, then display and follow the same path, when you find your icon-> long press then extract.
Not for icons. You can get into apks via root explorer or via a pc using winrar or 7-zip

Hi precyse37
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
An initial search on XDA took me to the below thread:
[Guide] Noobs guide to use Titanium Backup for backup and restore of apps
And I found a lot more. I would suggest you to get used to XDA Search Engine that will be of much value for you:
[GUIDE] How to use the XDA search feature
Nice regards, good luck and mainly, have fun.
