somebody can tell me how to adjust call volume in paranoid android 3.99rc2 atrix 2 version.
You can't. There is an app in the developer section that will let you adjust it manually. You basically have to set it and leave it. I found that 35 has given me the best results for volume on your end without echo on the other end.

I just successfully flashed my first rom after 2 bricks,i noticed that my text message notification plays 4 seconds of a song that I've never had set as a ringtone, before the actual sound I have set as notification sound (gunshot)goes off.

nothing to do with the rom and everything to do with what app you are using for your texting. also, there is an entire Q&A thread this could have been asked in
I use swype for text

Does anyone know any good roms where you can set individual ringtones for contacts. I tried a few and can't seem to find one.

I have used AR-HD and I am currently using Inspired Ace and both will let you assign ringtones without any issue.

Thanks everyone. But im running cm7.1 rl and it wont let me, even when I go into edit contact.

Try ringdroid
That is because of the contacts app, use a 3rd party to set ringtones. I use Whoisit. It controls your notifications like nothing else I have found. Well worth the money. There are a few free apps like the one newter suggested that allow you to select personal mp3 files for ringtones. Some custom roms come with an app already built in.
I'm Currently running NINJA 716 which is based on CM and i can assign custom ringtones to different contacts on using the default contacts app. When you go into a contact hit menu then options and assign a ringtone.
i also tried this on my sister cliqxt running CM7.1 RC1 and it works
To select a ringtone for an individual contact in cm7 go to view the contact hit menu and choose option there will be an option to set a ringtone there.

Oh yeah. Duh. I tried hitting menu as I was in edit mode and it gave no options. Totally forgot to just select contact an hit menu. Now I can rove the other apps to save space. Thanks everyone

Ok been messing around trying to get a ringtone to work for a while know and I found a rather odd way to get one working. Ok so first you will need to go to settings - programs - calls and then turn off third party. Not sure why off and not on but whatever. Now download full screen caller Id from market. You need to go into settings - text to speech and make sure you select for it to be used when in silent and vibrate. I then setup to have a video ringtone. Now you need to press down on volume till ringer is off and then if done right you should now have a ringtone when you get a call. I know its not the best work around but figured I would share till someone has something better.
You should have posted this in the general section.

Crap sorry man wasn't sure were to put it but I guess that makes the most sense now lol.
Actually you should have posted this in the MIUI thread in Q&A but who cares. Thanks for the workaround. Hopefully will see a working kernel for this bad boy to make workarounds absolete.
I mean absolutely no offense to OP but can anyone using the miui rom confirm this? Got sweet child of mine set up to my liking and am reluctant to flash another rom for an unconfirmed work around. Been wanting miui for awhile but, really don't want to bother with flashing it just to have to flash back. Been there, done that already. Thanks.

I agree with booboo773, last time someone said they found a work around I flashed back to MIUI and it didn't work. I would like some additional confirmation on this before flashing back from Sweet Child Of Mine, so if anyone else can confirm this please let us know. Thanks!
I just flashed miui last night to try to find a workaround as well.. will post feedback in a bit
Edit
ok well i used your idea and found an easier way. Theres an app called Video Caller ID (free).
its much easier to set up. and your right about the Third Party option in call settings.
Also, i think the video should be in .mp4 format. i only have .3gp and .mp4 to test, and .3gp didnt work so..
Another thing is setting volumes in Settings-Personal-Sound-All Volume.
I turned Call volume all the way down, and the Media all the way up.
I can stop missing calls now and enjoy a stupid fast ROM!

I still get sms ringtone... odd.
My phone is not on silent mode. I just turn the call volume down, everything else up. Most importantly the media volume, as Video Caller ID uses the Media volume.

I'm using mp4. An easy way to make a tone is to download with tubemate and you can trim with vidtrim both apps are free in the market.
Weird, video caller id won't load any video, it sees them in mp4 format but when I click on the "make default" slider and go to select a video the app won't load it as a default. ....I do get other text to speech caller id aps to work.

I know this ROM used to have an option to enable long press on the back button to kill the current app. I think it used to be under developer options. Anyway, on the latest Beanstalk Build I can't find the option anywhere (I'm probably blind). Could someone point me to it please? I've found other threads with mods to enable this function, but I know it used to be built in to the ROM so I don't want to install a Mod if I don't need to.
Thank you!
PS Scott is awesome!

Wonderful! Thank you.
To clarify for anyone else reading: Settings > System > Hardware Keys > Enable Custom Actions
Back key (long press) = Kill app
I use the onscreen buttons and the back to kill app stopped working for me. No idea why.

It's gone
Sorry guys, the option is not there on 4.4, is it? Any workaround?
I own a Nexus 5 since three days now. I have rooted it (thanks to chainfire-autoroot) and flashed Custom Recovery (thanks to Wugfresh).
It's a great device, but coming from CM7, I miss some features and I am a little reluctant to flash a custom ROM already...
- After attaching a wired headset, music player does not start automatically.
- Volume rockers do not skip track in music player when phone is locked.
- Unable to set increasing ringing volume.
Maybe I overlooked some things, but maybe someone can point me in the right direction?
Xposed module with Gravity box will do the trick for you. There are a lot of other customization that you could do as well
Thanks! Applied some handy tweaks. I found a module to turn off increasing ringtone, does mean that increasing ringtone is a standard feature of the Nexus? I haven't tested it yet...

Modules are not device specific. Just because a module appears to allow you to turn off something, doesn't mean its on in the first place
