Wow, just saw my battery drained to below 50% and noticed that gmail smart extras were downloading a lot of data.
Here's a screen shot.
Wth is it downloading?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Same here.
Gmail apps itself not consume that much data compare with Gmail smart extras.
Have been post note on Google playstore but no any responses yet from Sony.
Sent from my HTC One dual sim using Tapatalk
Hopefully they have a solution soon, or at least someone else would be able to tell us what its doing.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I had to uninstall it because of its battery consumption.
I Will install it again to check the data usage too.
I uninstalled it. The **** did it a second time.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
After a full charge. Left it idle.

have you tried downgrading to the previous version of the extension?
the current version caused too many FC's for me, that's why i downgraded
(bloody annoying, can't hit the "update all" in the play store because of that)

Have you still got an apk for previous version? If so what version number is it? And could you share a link? Thanks.
Edit
Found your link on separate post

I have installed a newer play store, 3.10.9. I don't get notifications about updates, so I want to get to the stock version. I tryed uninstalling updates but after reboot I get 3.10.9 again. What do I have to do ?
Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk 2
update of store is manage by Google and this is the reason why you have newest version again. I think you can't change it anymore.
I have new on mobile already, but old one on tablet still
What version is normally on stock ics ? I'll try to download the correct version but I don't know which one to search.
Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk 2
it's not aout version of Android, but about version released by Google, I have X version for last few months as eveybody. You can found it just by checking of version usually.
I was asking about the app, not about the android version. The version of playstore app on the note 10.1 might be different that the one on nexus 10 for example, or the one on older phones that still run android 2.3. I need to know the version of the app, is visible in playsore/settings at the bottom. Should look like 3.9.15 or something.

it's clear for me. I have 3.9.16 on SGN10.1 now, ICS 4.0.4 and 3.10.9 on SGS2 on ICS 4.0.4
No matter what version I try, it gets back to 3.10.9. I'll leav it like this for now, until jb comes.

I have almost the same problem. 6 days ago PS updated, I recieve notifies but when trying to update, the window shows downloading (forever).
I have this issue with my G TAB2 7.0 and my SGS3. When i connect to my friends home network it works. When i connect to my GS3 hotspot it works. Its driving me nuts.
I have made no changes to my router settings. I opened both firewalls on my router, same results. I cant see where port 5723 is being blocked on my router.
I searched XDA for answers as well as GPS and read where there are issues but i cant find or see where my settings need any changes.
If anyone has suggestions please let me know. Thanks.
Try uninstalling updates for P.S. and let it update again, maybe will fix himself. I even did a reset to factory default and still it's updating to 3.10.9... but I'm not sure yet if I'll get notified for updates because there are none at the moment.
Edit : Nope, I don't get notified about updates.

All,
Just installed Bonestock 3.0 rom. But is there a way to get rid of the persistant 4g LTE icon when I'm on Wifi? It's not a big deal, but it does take up some retail space. I think I read somewhere its because of some Verizon app that cause the 4g LTE to be persistant. I forgot what app causes this and which to uninstall to get it back to normal.
Thanks!
Look for the "canid.apk" and freeze/remove it
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Were you able to confirm this works? I am interested in this as well. Thanks!
That's the app that causes it. It is in fact it popped up since md3 ota.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Tried looking for canid.apk in titanium backup but didnt find it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I remember reading when MD3 came out that the app called "Caller Name ID" was causing the issues. Just deleting it might not be a good idea. After a 10 day "trial" VWZ will start to bill you $2.99 a month unless you opt out. You have to unsubscribe from the service first and then uninstall the app. This has to be done from inside the app from what I remember. I'm sure a google search could find the info needed.
That was exactly it. I disabled the Caller ID app and it is back to normal.
It's also known as canid.apk, don't know why you had trouble finding it maybe it the application manager.
Be sure to disable it on your Verizon account because they will charge you.

Hey guys, has anybody tried had sync? I always used it on my nexus devices, however, the last update for it is on October 6th, way before KitKat release date. I've read through some of the reviews and some have mentioned of it preventing phone from going to deep sleep and causing wake locks. That was on a galaxy phones though, no mention of issues on nexus 5. I have just got the nexus, don't really want to install something that's not fully compatible yet.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Working fine for me.. Just got my phone a couple hours ago, so can't really say much on the wake lock part. But, the contacts sync up and its fine so far..
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Why not try it for your self? If it causes problems just uninstall it. Plan and simple. Not like it can brick your phone because an app isn't 100% compatible.
Working fine for me too.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have sync.me on one of my old androids letting it update my contacts...good idea if you have a old phone laying around...not sure but you could use haxsync like that too.

I did when I got my nexus. My battery died faster than expected. I looked through logs, and noticed that yahoo weather was draining a lot of battery on the background, ended up uninstalling that and haxsync because I figured that it could have been both as android usage was also high. Today, everything was fine. I will try to reinstall it.
I do seem to get some contact pics synced, I'm guessing by default Facebook app still doesn't sync contacts on stock, right? Pictures might be coming from Google +?

Been using haxsync for a week now on my N5 & no battery drain/wakelocks according to bbs from haxsync so its ok to use.

I have not as the Dev put in the description that it's only needed for 4.1. Calendar and contacts are syncing just fine without it.

Uhm I installed it, but the pictures seems to be all in low resolution.. It's because this Nexus is bigger then the previous?

On 4.4.2 haxsync doesnt work anymore at least for me
are there any alternatives?
I don't find HaxSync on Play Store, on both Play Store app (on Nexus 5) and Play Store web
There's a playstore fix in xposed installer. This may fix your problem

I was unable to find HaxSync on play store, so I searched through Google and clicked the link, works flawlessly.

MersauX,
Can you please tell me where you found it? What link? When I search for the Haxsync APK, I find a lot of sites, but I am always a bit leery at downloading them from these types of places since I worry about the files authenticity. Thanks in advance.

Thanks but it's not currently available on the play store. That's the reason I asked in the first place.
I've never had any wakelocks using haxsync, and it has never shown up in my battery stats ever.

Odd, that link works for me. Must be because I've had it installed for years...
I cant make sense to this.. me and my girlfriend both have the same device M8 - rooted & S-OFF same firmware and radios and ROM but for some reason.. her facebook app version is 8.0.0.26.24 and its from the market and mine is version 7.0.0.26.24 directly from the market...can someone explain why this is?
Some folks are getting an option to update the app directly through Facebook and not the app store. I would uninstall the 8.0 version as it is not official or known to be legit.

My Facebook keeps randomly updating even tho I have auto update turned off for all apps. But Thai one still updates. And I think that when it does update its an 8.0 version. Whatever version it is the whole ui changes and I hate it. How can I make the version I like stick? Think every time I reboot it updates, and don't think it's they the play store either that it's getting the update? I don't get any notification of it when it does, it's just there when I open Facebook again.
You sure one of you didn't join the beta program?
Also, this should go in Q and A

I've been on beta for about a year now, still notified of updates when they are ready. This gives me no notification of update, just updates on it's own even tho it's not enabled. Frustrating.

What's more strange is that my version stays the same after updating, Even tho it looks totally different 8.0.0.3.24
I never use my FB, only rarely to check a photo or 2 that gets put up of me. Popped on sometime last week to notice an entirely new app layout. No update from Play, no update notification from FB app. Girlfriend, same phone, users FB all day still has old one. Kinda pissed, because the few times i did look at my feed, i wanted it sorted by time, not this 'most popular' BS, and can't find an option in the new app for it.

Beta or not, shouldn't update if auto update isn't selected. This is the only time it's done it. It's extremely annoying cause I HATE the new ui but can't make an older version stick no matter what I do. And just discovered it updates regardless of reboot or not.

Well look at it this way, you will eventually be forced to use it, so just get used to it and they will change it again in 3 months anyways :/
One of you either signed up for the Alpha or Beta version at some point. It will carry from device to device.

I'm on beta, my daughter isn't but hers also keeps updating on her kindle.
8.0.0.3.24 this is the latest version.
I'm not on the beta. Mine auto updated when I got home not realizing my WiFi was on. Deleted and restored the old version with titanium backup. The new app is horrible. I don't care what people posted 2 weeks ago....

Hi all, just wondering if there is a method to downloading multiple apps from the play store under the apps that I have either installed before or purchased? I have a ton of apps I've installed or purchased from all the previous android phones I've owned but its a pain in the ass to keep having to install one by one and it always brings me back to the top of the list of my apps. If anyone can shed some light on this I would be much appreciated, thank you -Cory

I haven't tried this but I think if you sync your phone settings to your google account, it'll automatically download all the apps when you do a restore to a new phone?! or does it only work on iOS only? I had to download the apps from Google Store myself but I don't have that many so I don't mind really. That's all I can say so far, mate.
Figured it out last night. Just hold on one of the apps in my apps/all and it allows to multi select
