Hi guys,
Does anyone know if there's an app, or a mod that can give the functionality of the Samsung phonebook. I mean, On the s3/s4 you can swipe a contact left to message them or swipe the contact right to call them. Is there anyway to get this feature on the Nexus 5?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah I'm rooted and using Cataclysm ROM.
I miss this funcionality from my Galaxy S Advance too.
And i'm using Cataclysm too.
If anyone knows about this, it will be thanked.
With ExDialer you'll be able to do that

Hey guys
I know that on android they have preset profiles (Home, Office, Default, etc..), however recently I can't seem to find them. I've look through all the settings menus and still no luck. Can anyone point me to the right direction?
I think I found the answer to my problem - I'm using stock and apparently stock doesn't have this built in, however if you use a custom rom it may offer this feature. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi all,
After a week with this great device I've noticed that when attempting to share an item from various apps I am not given the choice of which app to share it from. For example. When using the browser and wanting to share a link. It defaults to my sms app rather than giving me options where I would naturally want to send via email.
Has anyone else noticed this, Had experience of this and can offer me some advice?
Thanks in advance

This exact thing happened to me, only way I could fix it was a factory reset.

So... I just got the Nexus 5 a couple of days ago. I love the phone.
But... I really do not like Hangouts. I use WhatsApp, and sometimes SMS. But I do not like Hangouts for SMS. Is there a way to install the SMS app from the Nexus 4? Like a AOSP version? If so... where can I find the app?
Thanks.
I use 8sms. It looks like the AOSP SMS app but adds a couple nice features, like the option for a popup when you receive a SMS. I set it as default messaging app and it works perfectly.

I just tried the 8sms app. You will probably call me crazy, but I didn't like it for one reason. The icon. Ughh.

I built Mms.apk from aosp 4.4.2 today because I don't want to use Hangouts. I don't have carrier service so I'm not sure it will even work properly. If someone could test it that would be very cool. And maybe you'll get the app you're looking for.

Perfect!! Thank you very much!!!
:good::good::good:
Here's the MMS.apk from Purity Rom, it has more options like full timestamps and quick reply.
I think 8Sms is a better idea than using the messaging app compiled from source, because 8sms is the same thing, but constant bug fixes that are released through Google Play...which I find better.
works in nexus 5 kk 4.4.4

thanks for apk. I hate hangouts.
Just flash this in recovery and it will add the setting for blocking all calls or messages. (Good for tethering so you don't get booted) It also adds native Call Recording. First time posting something don't be too brutal thanks @rlmiller for taking time to help.

Hi i just downloaded this file but not sure what to do after that. My note 4 had call blocking. The note 5 has DND but it is still allowing the calks to ring. I want them sent directly to voicemail. How do i do that?

Damn you Samsung with your ****ing Knox!
I don't get it. Sprint Note 5 already has call blocking.
Installed and working. Question is, where can i find the recordings
I would really like to get the stock SMS app nodded so I can delay sending the message for like 3 or 5 seconds? Does anyone know how to mod the app so I can do so? Thanks so much and I know you can do this with textra but want the stock Samsung app.

I don't know the answer to your question but I am curious...what's the purpose of a 3 second delay? Lol I'm honestly just curious
To make sure you're sending it to the right person and a quick proofread
Gotcha
It's a CSC feature.
