[Q] KitKat update not showing up - Droid Ultra Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I just got word that the KitKat update for the droid ultra just officially rolled out today ! I tried going to settings > about phone > system updates to update my phone but it just says device is up to date no updates are required at this time.
Is this normal will I eventually get the update it or is there something wrong with my phone I'm rooted on jellybean 4.2.2 by using RockMyMoto and running 12.15.15 system version.
Cheers!

when i went from the original 4.2 to the camera update, I had to re-enable all the system apps, before it would show the update. just a thought. or it could be a staged rollout and hasn't gotten to you yet

Update Found
Edit 1/14/2014: I just had to reboot my phone and bam the update starts downloading on its own!!!

[Q] Q. Why my system says up to date but its not???

I have a rooted NS4G with custom kernel Matr1x #5. Im currently on 2.3.4 and have not added any roms or updates. I kept recieving the OTA updates every 1/2 hr. im assuming for the 2.3.5. OTA was 22mb.
I was holding off for a while to not to update but finally gave in. I went to install OTA and my phone turned off and look as tho it was going to update my system. I let 15-20mins go by and I was still at a screen where there was a triangle with an exculmation and the android.
I thought it shouldnt take that long to update so I pulled the battery. I rebooted my phone and it still has 2.3.4 as my android version but when I click on system updates it says my system is up to date which is not the case.
If anyone install this OTA how long did it take for the whole process??
How do I fix this is with my system saying its up to date but clearly its not since im on 2.3.4???
I no longer get the notification to install a OTA. I would like to install an OTA instead of doing it manually.
I still want to be able to receive updates OTA when the are released. Im afraid I messed something up
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

System Firmware Update notice....

Hi All,
Newbe with a Asus TF101 and I have to say it's been an adventure !
Originally I found a posting how to root my tablet and it worked great until an update notice appeared and locked up my system. After much panic stricken hunting around I found this site and was able to update the tablet to ICS 4.0.3 which is even better then before and runs great.
Now another update notice is appearing again......
[Q] How can I check that this update is ok to use or since I've installed a custom ROM I won't be able to use any of these updates from Asus ?
thanks,
Don't update if you have CWM or custom roms installed( root is fine in most cases). If you do want to update, return your tf to stock first.
Thanks for the reply.....
I was thinking that given my last update experience. Is there a way to turn off the update notices so I don't accidentally update ?
Stop DM Client running in the settings menu. That'll stop your notifications, at least until you reboot and then you'll have to stop it again. You might be able to freeze it using Titanium but I haven't tried it so I can't confirm it won't cause any problems.

Nexus S i9020A , completely stock, running 4.0.4
Got an OTA update the other day, went through the update, no errors, rebooted, still 4.0.4 ????
System Update shows my phone is currently up to date
It looks like the OTA update failed, but I'm not sure why or how to determine why.
Any help would be appreciated... again, my phone is stock, no custom rom, non-rooted ...

It is not necessary to flash in order to get the OTA update again. Instructions to force another OTA update are here (basically: clear data on the Google Service Framework app, this resets the time the phone last checked for an update).
However, I'm facing the same problem and even after re-downloading the 4.1 update on my stock Nexus S, the update still fails. The phone reboots and starts to install the update then shows the dead droid with red exclamation before rebooting to 4.0.4.
I've seen other suggestions to get the device back to stock so I guess that's my next course of action (and likely yours).
Are these instructions appropriate? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785672
I9020A needs two OTA's to get jellybean. The first OTA will make you keep 4.0.4 but will update your bootloader. This first ota, the one I think you got, is about 1MB in size. You will soon get another OTA, this one will bring you to jellybean.

That is what appears to have happened. I was just confused regarding this and assumed my previous update was to 4.1.
I tried several times to "checkin" and eventually I got the update to 4.1.1 which, unlike the update I did a few days ago,
took longer ( about 10minutes ) to update. I now have 4.1.1 JRO03E , very snappy
Thanks !
No problem, man! Us I9020A's gotta stick together!

Lollipop update- where are you ?

About 3 weeks i installed the Kitkat rom stock on my N5.
Today i tried to see something about the OTA update to Lollipop, and surprisingly i saw isn't it arrived to me.
I just tried to Clear Data from the Google Services Framework- still the same.
Somebody know how can i get it ?
Thanks for answering,
Tal.
Are you rooted? If so, you'll need to unroot to take the OTA.
Sideload this via ADB: clickity-click.
Wait. I think you'll need to sideload the 5.0 update first, and then do the one I linked for 5.0.1. Can somebody confirm this?
First of all don't clear Google services framework data that messes up stuff pretty bad. Second d, this should be in q and a section. Third just flash the 5.0.1 factory images or there is a flash able zip out if you're rooted with custom recovery.

I agree wid op...

I flashed manually 5.0 and i got ota for 5.0.1 ... I dont knw whats up wid google ota system...
5.0 ota seems pulled, Got 3 N5 which all have the ota prompt before, but none of them get the ota message now.

So isn't it only on my device. OK.
Thanks !!
It never was your device. The OTA is rolling out in phases (not sure it's true that it got pulled but I could be wrong)... Just flash the factory images or lollipop stock ROM flashable zip. There are plenty of threads about this in the stickies...

Can't update to Marshmallow

Hi there,
So i had an OTA update available, I started downloading it and then I stopped in the middle because I had to leave the house, when I got back I couldn't continue and now whenever I try to check if there is any available update it says I have the most updated version which is 5.1.1 does someone knows how can I install OTA again?!
thank you!
Don't now. It was pulled due to WiFi issues. In the update settings clear out your residule stuff and reboot. Get it when it comes out again.

thank you and I formatted my shield for nothing
If you ran the OTA and it failed you can restart the update by going to \data\data\com.nvidia.ota folder on your Shield and delete the OTA.zip file then run the update check again.
I'm still on 5.1.1 not getting the update to 6.0 on my originals replacement tablet! Did everybody on the original get 6.0? Saw the k1 was to get 6.0.1 soon.
