i've been having this problem with almost all the keylock applications i've installed!
the display keeps on getting activated by itself and refuses to go into sleep mode! and if it goes into sleep mode, i'll have overlap lock screen which consist of the stock lock from X10 and the lock app i've installed..
was wondering whether any of the users here facing the same problem or not and if so, how am i suppose to get rid of the problem?

When you say activated by itself, do u mean u haven't touched any buttons (even accidentally) ?

if its LockBot you are using its a known issue on the X10, if not using LockBot chances are its the same issue as you get with lockbot were you end up with multiple lock screens.
I use goto v1.20 Now and this is the first lock which actually is usable on the x10.
With lock bot I had the problem I couldn't use the notification bar anymore and with others I had double lock screens which is annoying as hell...

Hello everyone, this is the first phone that I am using with data (yup, i've been using smartphones without a data plan). so I was wondering what "power control" widgets or shortcuts out there that could switch between 2G and 4G with just 1 click. The reason I wanna do this is that 2G saves battery while I'm not using the phone.
If I am not wrong, most of the power control widgets only "take" you to the setting page and you have to manually check the "use 2G only" box. But then I've also heard of some power control widgets do APN renaming of some sort.. no idea how that works.
in short: Please suggest a widget program that could switch between 2G/"4G" with just 1 click AND that program doesnt drain battery
thank you
I like Switch Pro. Not only does it have this switch but it has about 12 others all in one widget. You can also customize it color wise.
2G 3G OnOff by CurveFish toggles between 2G and 4G on my phone with the widget (no sending to setup screen). Don't be fooled by the name though, mine goes from 2 - 4 and back.

Whoops! Sorry, it does send you to the setup screen. I was thinking of another app I have that shuts the network off without going to the setup screen.
Sorry for the confusion!

I use SuperPower with Sidekick installed. Works great to switch with one button press, or automatically after a certain amount of idle time and/or battery level, etc ... Great power management app in general.

I use it all the time. Just one click. It also has just one click to turn data completely off. I think switch pro is the best option because you can get 8 widgets in one row.
Hmmm..
I believe that Elixir has that and there widget takes literally no power, and it can display everything including the 3g/2g switch.

4g switch on the app isnt either working or its grayed out. Not sure if its cause im using leaked GB or not but its the same for my Power Control widgets.
Still looking for the 2g/4g toggle widget and have yet to find it?
Switch Network Type 2G/3G from SoftXPerience.
It stays invisibly in the notifications drop-down screen and takes me to the settings page in a single click.
It's a simple, instant shortcut I've found more accessible than a widget.

SuperPower, requires root and a patch but it will automatically swap between 2G/4G (listed as 3G in the app). You set conditions for the switch, or if you want to do it manually you can do it from the notification bar or with a shortcut on your desktop. So far it's the only app I've found that doesn't just take you to the settings screen.
try toggle data. It's a simple one-click widget. Works perfectly on the g2x.

Hi Erislover:
How exactly do you set up the APN's to make sure MMS works. Can you by any change provide step by step instructions?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure on that. You could always just check the box to keep it enabled, hit the toggle so data is off, and then have a friend send you an MMS to see what happens. If it works, try to access a webpage to make sure data truly is off. If you can get the MMS and the web isn't working (and 4g isn't showing), you should be saving juice while still getting MMS's.
I'm super ignorant when it comes to APN's...not messing with the nightlies for just that reason!
The screen timeout modes only let you set various timeouts... but I'd like to have an easy way to make the screen stay always-on for when I'm in the car. It works all right for GPS apps because they force it, but google music still turns off

there are other ways to do it, but I use the app "My Settings Pro" to set the screen timeout to never, works perfectly.
Does it give you a way to do it as a quick toggle? Like I said, I don't want this always... just when I'm in the car.. and even so... something automated would be nice.

I made a dock shortcut to open the app with one click.
The app gives a screen with a bunch of toggles for settings: ringer mode>screen brightness>lock screen on/off>WiFi on/off>GPS on/off>Bluetooth on/off>AutoSync on/off>auto rotate on/off>screen timeout>Airplane Mode on/off>network mode etc.etc.etc.
I have used it in my last 4 phones, it is one of the first apps I always install after a ROM flash.
Another way would be to use widgetsoid and a screen timeout toggle to accomplish this. You can make it toggle pretty much any settings you want.

Never had a problem with this option. If I'm plugged in the the screen stays on.
just curious but isnt that just asking for a burn in?
Has anyone experienced their sleep option disappearing? It is usually available when long pressing the power button, along with the option to choose airplane mode. The only option I now have is "Power Off, would you like to shutdown?" I really do not know how this may have happened. I think it may have something to do with trying to flash Beats through Pimp My ROM, and also the Sony xLoud & ClearAudio+ engine. However, I did create a Nandroid backup prior to those flashes and restored my system (even cleared Cache and Dalvik+3 before each flash), but the problem persists. Does anyone have a solution to this or a proposed fix? At first I thought it had to do with Arrrghhh's Kernel I flashed, but I was mistaken (hence the following references to his Kernel in the following posts and my editing of the origional thread).
Any guidance would be appreciated, Thanks!

Kernel's would not change what userland is showing you...
The setting you're talking about is a userland setting. Are you sure you didn't change something else?
Re: Deep Sleep State disabled...
Well, I did flash the Sony sound codecs from Pimp my ROM. But I went back and undid those settings after flashing a restore made prior to those changes...no change.
Could it be that my min CPU setting is set to 96 MHz? Would this disable my phone from waking in sleep mode, and could the system of automatically changed that setting?
Sent from my XT897 using xda app-developers app
Again, the kernel cannot remove userland options. I have the menu option, works fine on my kernel.
Re: Deep Sleep State disabled...
I guess I may not know what you are referring to by "userland" settings. Any ideas how I can fix this and get back my sleep option? I use it at work between breaks, really saves my batt

You have changed something in the system.
Again, my kernel will not remove this option. There is some other reason the menu item is missing - I see you are making all sorts of changes, including build.prop hacks - so who knows what you have done to remove this menu item.
One last time - my kernel has not removed any menu items. I'm running my kernel and I see the 'sleep' option when I longpress on power.
Re: Deep Sleep State disabled with Arrrghhh's kernel version 0.10 ?
Of course, Im totally aware it was not your kernel...I am just asking if anyone can direct me what I can do to fix it...your kernel runs perfectly on this phone! I even was able to get the CPU slide settings to stick. But I really like the sleep option and am requesting help on what to do...can anyone offer assistance? Thanks.

You can't restore an old backup? Maybe pillage a few tweaks you've done one at a time?
Did you flash any update.zip's that would affect the system UI / frameworks/core / etc? Stuff like the 1% battery, status bar toggles, etc.
Tried a factory reset to see if that does it?
Options get worse from here on... flash ROM back, flash stock using RSD... etc.
Re: Deep Sleep State disabled with Arrrghhh's kernel version 0.10 ?
Yeah, flashed an old recovery from when it did work, no dice. I did flash Sony xLoud and ClearAudio+ from the Pimp My ROM app, and that is when I think it happened. Also tried to install Pimp My Beats before that, but it soft bricked my phone and I reinstalled the system with RSD Lite. So I really dont know what it might have been, but I really dont want to flash with RSD again. I have my system set up beautifully right now except for this one issue. Oh, and is there a way to modify the title of this thread? Don't want it to reflect negatively on your kernel, sorry, I'm a new member...

Re: Sleep option on power button longpress somehow disappeared, need help with fix...
I'm really wondering what I did to create this situation, for now I am using airplane mode to cut all radios off to save battery at work. I did not modify any build_props that would affect the sleep option...really think it was attributed to flashing zips from Pimp My ROM. Any dev knowledge would rock though, I've been sifting through system files and still have not come up with any plausible solutions...

Did you mod the systemUI? I think it has to do with modifying systemUI. In all JB updates for Motorola phones, sleep mode has been disabled. And I think it will be removed soon on Photon Q in the next update.
Would LOG INFO be of help???

Not intentionally, but what would you consider the System UI, and if I was to mod it, where would I start? (Excuse my NoobNess, I know that question is extremely vague, but give me an example). FYI, I am not DeOdexed, so some UI mods might not even be possible, right? I just saved a log and poured through it and found this:

If there is any other info in a log that might point me in the right direction please let me know...Thanx

Well, I have resorted to using a third-party app for controlling the variables of the automatic deepsleep function (your device goes into this state when your screen turns off). I am able to modify most aspects of what system processes wake the device out of this state, how often it auto-wakes to sync background data, and which radios turn off as well in deepsleep. Hopefully it works...

I feel it's more convenient to use a third party app that allows you modify the parameters of a native function of the device's ROM (deep_sleep) since it closely resembles the manual sleep option. I found an app called Deep Sleep Battery Saver Pro. Could benefit from more functions and better language translation though...

I'm 110% stock (Verizon version ?) thoughts?

That I believe is because you have night mode turned on in the messages app, or any other Google app that has a dark mode setting. The night mode setting in developer options I've noticed, doesn't really matter. When I use Android auto, it switches between day and night on its own. Now if I pick up my device and use it while it is still plugged into my car, and I open messages which I have dark mode enabled, it will switch Android auto to dark. And I would have to unplug the USB and plug it back in. Hope that helps
