[Q] Help Flashing, Rooting, Custom ROM

Hello,
I am sorry if this is a repost of something similar, I searched and could not find what I am looking for.
I am a noob at this...
I just purchased an Asus TF300T. Completely stock. 4.2.1 with 10.6.1.27.5 firmware.
I would like to unlock the bootloader, root, flash recovery and install a 4.4.2 KitKat rom.
I have found many threads on here with what to flash, but not many "How-to" for noobs like me. I have no idea where to start.
Anyone have how-to guides or videos?

Outline:
Unlock the bootloader with the unlock tool
Flash TWRP 2.6.3.2 from fastboot (get adb and fastboot working on your computer first)
Flash a KitKat ROM.

Thank you. I have so far successfully unlocked the bootloader using the asus unlock tool apk.
Could you please provide me with a link to TWRP 2.6.3.2. I have only found 2.6.3.0. Also which one do I pick -4.2 or -JB?

Hmmm.....a bit of trouble
So I've installed TWRP 2.6.3.0 -JB successfully
I then tried to install AOKP/AICP 4.4.2 and CMB 4.4.2 ROMs and am getting:
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found.
set_metadata_recursive:some changes failed
E: Error executing updater binary in zip 'rom zip file path'
Error flashing zip 'rom zip file path'
Updating partition details...
and now I am stuck in a recovery loop.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

First of all, don't use the -jb version of TWRP with your bootloader, you risk bricking your tablet! The right version to use is -42 for flashing 4.2 based ROMs.
For flashing the 4.4 based ROMs you need scanno's TWRP 2.6.3.2 that is not available from the official site. You can find a link in the OmniROM thread.

i finally unlocked. used this tutorial, im on cromi-x rom

Working recovery, but can't flash any rom.

Please can u help me with my Acer A210? I cant flash any rom to my device. I have working recovery installed called,
"Kiwi++Recovery v1.3.1 (Based on CWM)". Each rom installation stops due to the error in recovery called "status 7". Than I tried to fix this error by editing the "updater-script" file of the Rom. Than the CM11 rom(which I downloaded from a German website) installed successfully but the screen stuck at the kiwi kernel boot-screen. I've tried other rom, such as the omni rom, now the recovery shows status 6 error when I try to install them. Please help!

Getting Assert Failed OPO trust Zone and Error Updater Binary in Zip

Hi, I'm new here and m in trouble. I Bought OPO last night and Unlocked the device and installed Custom recovery and tried flashing Custom rom But when i flash the zip using TWRP Recovery it gives me error msg saying that Error executing Updater Binary in Zip '/Sdcard/Euphoria OS also Assert Failed: Opo Verify trustzone ("TZ BF 2.0.2.0.0109) == "1".. WHat is this ? I have wiped all the CM11 Stuff but still getting the error. also Tried Mount and Unmout System but not working

You're trying to flash a Lollipop ROM, right? You need updated firmware first. Grab it here:

Flash it with your custom recovery and then any Lollipop ROM will flash just fine.

Is there any official place to download this firmware? I mean this link is from google drive link, where can I get the latest firmware to be downloaded and thus flashed?

That is the latest firmware. There is no official download from CM. That's my Google Drive account.

[Q] TWRP: error executing updater binary in zip

Hi,
I am using the Galaxy A500FU and wanted to use a custom ROM (CM 12.1) by @TheWhisp but TWRP always says: error executing updater binary in zip
I followed the instructions exactly but it just does not want to work.
What can I do?

Same here. I tried to flash CM12.1 Unofficial TEMASEK by @mygalaxya for my A500G, and got the message.

You can try to unzip the rom and change the update binary with another that you know that works

Which ROM are you trying to install? If you are installing any CM roms, flash the latest TWRP recovery and install the ROMs you wanted.
