After carefully taking my phone apart which is linked below I can confirm that this phone is only sporting a single quad core processor running at 1.3ghz and not 2 quad core processors, also this phone has a 720p IPS display with 2gb of ram and 4gb ROM the WiFi as far as I can tell supports b, g and N as the speeds achieved through the active WiFi connection are not possible on a b/g chip.
I would like to point out that "fastcard tech" has been advertising this falsely as a 2 processor phone which would have a much better benchmark anyway, but I had yo know so I opened her up and found out for myself. Hope this helps anyone else who is as curious as me !
Please note that there were some parts of the phone I could not access but there was nothing to suggest 2 processors.

props to you man. thanks for the heads up.
but do you have picture to further strengthen your confirmation?
please post it here . thanks.

Right.. I know this i early to think about it but.... I've noticed the Atrix uses the same connector as our visions have (In roughly the same place too) to connect to the laptop dock, this got me thinking... Wouldn't it be awesome to be able to use the dock with our Visions Although that is of course if the phone fits and we are able to extract what ever software the atrix will use for it or a rom port
Just an idea
I was told at CES by the guy at the Moto booth that it wouldn't work (he also refused to answer my question on overclockability XD). Assuming that that was just a marketing thing so people would buy it, (if the phone can handle it) we should theoretically be able to port over the ROM, but then again we dont have 1gb of ram
Thanks
But yeah.. that is a good point... Although I hope it doesn't require all that Ram... And I'm sure clocked at 1.8Ghz our phones could handle the cpu demand Albiet with a crappy battey

Actually, when I was comparing the quandrant scores of the Atrix and the G2 @ 1.8 GHz, the G2 beat the Atrix by 400 points =p

Damn.. That's a fast phone... And at stock speed
Ah well...
I love the idea of the laptop dock with the Atrix. What I wasn't loving so much is the pricing... I read somewhere that the phone from AT&T (with contract) is $200. You can get the phone and dock for $500... And in order to get the discount on the dock, they are going to require customers to purchase a Tethering data add-on as well.
That's more than what I paid for my Desire Z OFF contract!
cables
if we could port the software, im sure a female-female micro USB cable would allow the phone to be connected to the dock... just an idea

Dual core processors will do that for you.

This is not correct. The USB ports may be in a similar place but the Atrix has a docking port (not on DZ) specifically for docking to its other devices.

Ahh I didn't notice that in the image I saw
Wow just saw the laptop dock for the first time, pretty freaking cool.

Dont really see your logic here
Atrix utilizes a dual core chip by nvidia
CPU Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor, ULP GeForce GPU, Tegra 2 chipset
The guy saw that a G2 overclock to 1.8 beat the Atrix which is a DUAL Core phone ( hand over fist, thats 2 GHZ vs 1.8 GHZ or 1 ghz X2 Vs 1.8) by 400 points ............. Dual core processors SHOULD NOT BE doing this for us
doesnt make sense we need to overclock a DUAL core cpu to beat a SINGLE overclocked cpu............
You're totally missing the point of dual core phones.
how am I not seeing the point of dual core phones?
doesnt matter how many cores a chip has if it cannot perform better than a single core chip
I think if some one would get USB OTG working on the g2 we could get a MIMO monitor and that would be just as good or better than the dock . If we get the rom ported or if some one would work on OTG and drivers for this .

It isn't as though both cores are running at the same time on the same exact process. If that were the case then you'd be right. I'd love to see a dual core OC, since again, both cores aren't being used for the one process, and see those results again.
I believe you need special USB hardware to provide USB host functionality.. and I don't know if the Desire Z / G2 has this?
If that doesn't ring a bell, what I mean is that USB on a portable device like this is pretty limited. Basically you can charge it and use it as mass storage/slave device to a computer.
But a USB Host port allows the phone to be the master and other plugged in hardware to be a slave. Most phones don't have this afaik
The news broke that the samsung galaxy s iii will be arriving to all major us carriers in June. here is the article on the verge.
The official announcement confirms that it will launch with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz dual core CPU and 2GB of internal RAM vs the Exynos 4212(5250 need to verify which version they used) 1.4 GHz Quad-core and 1 GB of internal RAM
Can someone that knows what they are talking about tell me if there's a significant difference between the two specs I presented and which one will be faster vs battery consumption?
I am a T-Mobile customer, and looks like the SGSIII is said to come with HSPA+ with 42Mbps+, while the international version will be HSPA+ with 21Mbps+, on paper it is double the speed, what is the difference, is there sufficient coverage? I looked at the map for T-Mobile Data and they only show the strength of signal and don't differentiate the two.
so far here's the only real answer i've gotten on this topic?? anyone agrees?? disagrees? why?

Let me start by saying I'm not a pro when it comes to electronics but I do have an understanding on the subject.
The thing to realize about these processors, and most other processors available today, is that the s4 is based on the cortex a15 while the tegra 3 along with the new Samsung are based on the a9. The a15, at the same Hz and die size is 40% faster than the a9.
S4 = dual core Cortex A15 @ 1.5GHz - 28NM
Tegra3 = quad core Cortex A9 @ 1.5GHz - 40NM
Exynos 4(Samsung) = quad core Cortex A9 @ 1.5GHz - 32NM
S4 so far, in theory, is 40% faster per core, but having two less. Individual apps will run faster unless they utilize all four cores on the tegra3. Because the s4 has a smaller die size, it will consume less energy per core.
The actual technology behind these chips that the manufacturers come up with will also affect the performance output, but the general idea is there. Hope that helps to understand a little better how the two chips will differ in performance.

sorry if i'm posting in wrong section, I thought of posting it in the GSIII general forum, but only international versions available, I'll get biased answers, my guess is also the SII users at least recent ones won't be upgrading, and I know the HTC One users will just try to make it look like their phone is better. I need an unbiased opinion. lol
Quad core
2 GB RAM
4.7" Screen
1.5 GHZ Qualcomm S4 Processor
These are, IMHO, the most advanced specs in any phone (not considering Samsung cause I just hate it).
But even some of the most advanced phones out there don't have all in one. So what's it going to be like from here on...?
Also, do u think the competition is jealous of it? Namely the iDevices and the Lumias alike...?
Sent from my RaZr HD.
The future will be z
4.9" or 5" 1080p displays
1.5 or 2ghz dual core A15 bases CPU
Or push to 6 core 1.2ghz A9 based CPU (highly unlikely)
Retarted large battery (2500mah-4000)
2GB RAM

I use a phone with single core yet and I managed to buy a new phone recently, do you think it is meaningful to have 2-cores, 4-cores, or 8-cores in the phone?

with the abundance of quad cores nowadays flooding the market, developers and apps would surely catch on optimizing apps to take advantage of
4 cores. As for octa cores, if you're seriously into multi tasking or using your phone/tablet for number crunching, then 8 cores would help.
...
I think today Quad core is must, and even better if it comes with 2GB ram.
The prices keep dropping and if it fits the budget it better.
For the Octa core- I think it's the same stupid race like with the Camera MP - "look!- I have 30MP!"
Strong Quad core with 2GB ram in enough I think.
The Bigger. The Better
I had a dual core phone with half a gig of ram until a few months ago..then i switched to quad core & a gig ram..i really didnt notice much of difference..until last week, when i switched back to my old phone(as it has beautiful AMOLED screen..i just love that)..i realized that my old is quite slow n can't keep up to me speed..
so..there u go..the bigger the better..
Same thing happened in PC industry.
The software, especially video games will use every bit of your cores,no matter how many they are.

totally agree with you! :good:
I think that the Quad-Core cpu is the best, it will works perfectly for years and years (that s my opinion)
But the software optimization is even more important
Sorry for my bad english
I was wondering one day......
" Since there is gaming PC's, I wonder if there is Gaming Smart Phones!"
I googled around and no luck.
Comment down below if you have found a Gaming Phone or you think it would be a good idea?
p.s. By definition of a Gaming Phone i mean like REALLY good processor graphics card and stuff like that. A phone that completely blows away daily phones similar to how gaming computers defeats the competion of regular Desktops.
Be on the lookout for octa-core phones, I believe the Galaxy S4 has one *somewhere* out there, but not sure on graphics.
Now that I searched for GS4, I found out there is an octa-core model (clocked at 1.6ghz vs quad 1.9ghz), but no LTE support outside Asia. So unless you stick to mostly WiFi, that is out.
Edit: Upon further research, there is a Zopo ZP980+ that dons a 1.7 GHz octa-core CPU with a Mali-450 MP4 [email protected] MHz, which seems to be better, with a decent price tag, not sure on LTE or even 4g support though.
