Yeah it's done the same to me.
an root verifier said it was rooted. turnout it wasn't.
still trying to change the language in samsung apps. such a joke.
Chinese manufactures really have an opportunity to take over a large percentage of the market, but not when they release products with problems like this.

Bassoon phablet has no sound
I have this phone from China a bassoon phablet, I was listening to music on it and in the middle of the song the sound just stopped. I thought I was getting a phone call, so I went into settings and checked the volume and everything was set correctly, I can't make a call, I can't call anyone, you can't hear the phone ringing or anything, but the internet works fine, there is no sound on the phone, can you help? Oh I tried pressing that red reset button on the back and that didn't help, I didn't try the factory restore, I wanted to get some advice before I do that. Thanks so much.

Swype from 2.07 rom required

HI can anyone tell me where to get new skype from 2.07 rom ???
thanks in advance.
You won't find anyone with it here. The best solution is to simply flash to a ROM that has it.
I have so much data on phone can't backup all of it so dont wana change rom for time being........
Im not sure where to grab the version of swype that has been extracted from the 2.07 rom... i am trying to find it myself!
The swype cab created from the version ripped from the Samsung Omnia 2 is all over the web though... google should bring up a couple of places to download it from.
Does anyone know of any differences between the two versions?

You will have to search in the underground... Extracting the software and offering it as a cab is clearly not wanted by the creators and owners of the software. Offering links to warez is completely against xda rules.
The difference between the 2 might be some more language support, and that the HD2 version was made for HD2, as simple as that. I think it still might be an option to flash a ROM which carries it on board - or, at least, as long as this is tolerated.
Maybe in the close future, HTC will bring another ROM update which offers this great piece of software. Or, as stated otherwise, Swype might decide to make a retail offer at some time. If they do at a decent price, I believe they could do great business - as seen with other products, at unreasonably high prices, you won´t sell big, but at fair pricing, you can succeed.
I cannot find the new version anywhere!
If anyone has a link or would like to email it to me that would be very much appreciated!!

I had the same thing, only installed yesterday so didn't do much checking of the phone. Quite a few problem were caused by the T-Mobile version . Data connection is screwed and all email passwords needed to be reset and my Wifi password are also gone lol. Did some reading online as well and quite a few other people have experienced the same problems, some have even had to HARD RESET to get their phones working correctly, fortunetly for me just uninstalling the CAB and giving the phone a few minutes resolved my Data connection issues , will put back on the Omnia version and leave it at that for the time being.
So I advice using the newest version of Swype with EXTREME caution!!!!
I tried it after much hesitation... Had to do a new setup for all email accounts, data connection and wifi connection. But it seems to be fine now, I'll see in a few days if it stays like that.
I'm using SWYPE WVGA 3.9.10.10.5032 on my HD2 without any problems.

Had the same, but all I had to do was re-enter the passwords (and mail servers for gmail) and re-run the connection setup wizard. Now I'm fine and dandy and the software is nothing short of awesome... Supports Italian, German, French, English and Spanish; I tested all languages and it works fine
I'd say it is a crucial addition to the HD2, as I use it every day, and it makes my text input much less of a chore. It is particularly useful because of its multi-language support. I've never had any problems like those described, thankfully.
have you guys done any soft resets since the initial reset after installation? I also found the keyboard became slow to start after I played with the setting. the omnia 2 version is working better for me and with the htc skin looks awesome.

I can't believe no one else posted this...
If you overwrite the ModelID with the file provided, you are effectively telling your phone that you are now....a...tmobile hd2.
The swype keyboard has protection in it...only a tmobile hd2 will work with it.
hence why you need the modelid
now here is the kicker...
Say sprint - you run sprint tv. get an error. wanna know why? sprint asks "what phone" and your phone replies "tmobilehd2.
Same thing with prl updates...
I think you get the point...
when you overwrite the modelid, all exchange accounts - gone (sorta). Your 4 digit pin become a lockout - no pin will unlock it.
in short, bad things happen.
And this is why you always provision your phone before you set it up. part of provisioning is setting the modelid...
which is why people on mighty that forgot to provision before seting up exchange need that fix e-mails cab...
any questions?

@leepriestenator, if I don't use any provider software, I can install swype without any problem right ?
leepriestenator is correct. Thanks. As our phones are all unlock where we are, the problem is just resetting the mobile provider. It is working fine on my phone, though the phone identity is now T-mobile_Leo.
Having said that, it is a much improved version over the one in Samsung.

[Q] skype not available in android market

Hi guys,
I just bought a new HTC inspire with froyo 2.2 from ATT in the US unlocked. Now I sent this phone to my bro in Peru, where he had a HTC aria without any problems.
Phone works great but we can not install skype. We can not even find it in the android market. I tried to download it from skype.com/m but I cant. It says (this item is not available in your carrier). However as I told you he has an HTC aria with the same phone carrier and uses skype there without a problem.
How can I fix this ????
Thanks
..Sorry was on my phone and posted to the wrong thread.....lol

Have you tried turning off data and accessing the market through wifi only?
If the phone is rooted use market enabler not sure if works with unrooted ones, also try 4shared app from 4shared.com to find Skype apk, can have issues tho until u download the right apk for ur device
Problem fixed!
I had Skype up and running on my Android, but my phone's hardware died and went to Hades. I received a replacement phone; when I tried to re-load Skype, I found it didn't even show up on the Android Market! I tried other application download engines, as well as the download link from Skype.Com, all with the same result.
After hours of agonizing with Skype and Sprint tech support, and getting nowhere, I spent about 7 hours reviewing, over and over, my Android's settings. I finally resolved it thus:
1. Open the Android Market
2. Choose "Settings."
3. Change the "Content Filtering" maturity rating to "Medium."
And that's it! I don't understand why Skype requires a slightly immoral maturity rating, since the app is positively "G" rated, and I've already complained to them about that.
Good luck!

[Q] 'Anonymous' shown on every sms received

I got a phone from Korea, LG Optimus LTE (LU6200). I think this phone was made only for korea, Although I was able to use it here in the Philippines on every network. My only problem on this phone is, Every SMS I receive will show "Anonymous" as the sender (no number or name) even though the phone number is saved on my contacts.
I tried using other sms app like Go SMS and Handcent, its still the same. No problem when people call me, their name will show or phone number. So all my text messages is pilled up under the name anonymous from different sender.
Has anyone has the same problem? do you have a fix?

Hi,
I have the same phone and also the same problem. I've been trying to find a fix for days now but I haven't found anything that works...
I kept trying different setting under *#*#4636#*#* regarding the network type under phone info but with no luck. can't seem to get the phone to save the smsc(service number) either. I can send text messages with no problem but all my received messages are from anonymous.
It's really annoying cause I love this phone so I'm hoping I'll find a fix sometime soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Oh yeah...forgot to say...I'm using it in Romania. everything else works just fine...

hey danny, If you have the same phone LG LU6200 Optimus LTE, SMS problem has been fixed, Anonymous being displayed to all received messages. All you need to do is to upgrade to Ice cream sandwhich.. The new updated fixes anonymous issue, also character limit when sending sms ( you have to use third party app, i use Go sms).. A lot has been improved from the update. The phone got nice Home screen too. I also like the phone, it's fast and slim.
go to dalelisyoso.blogspot.com just look for the article optimus lte ala ice cream sandwhich, you will find the link there.
the page is in Korean so you may need to use a page translator.. if you use google chrom it should ask you to tranlate it in english.
i hope this help.
just wanted to say thank you!!! I'm very grateful for your help!
you have a virtual beer from me!
I just managed to update it and it works like a charm! I'll try to root it, but for now I'll just leave it as it is cause I'm kinda new to the android world...but that's another story so...Thanks again! you're the best!

X2 / Star X2 MTK6575

This thread is about the "star one X2" or X2 mtk6575 phone.
It's one of the cheapest android 4.0 Chinese phone with mtk6575
As there is no topic about this phone I will start one !
1) The phone
star one X2 mtk6575 review
System
OS Android 4.0.3
CPU MTK6575
ROM 4GB
RAM 512MB
Screen
Display Size 4.0Inch
Type Capacitive touch screen
Resolution 800 x 480 pixels
Screen Color 260K Colors
It's a pretty good phone for the price (around 150 Usd). Battery last quite long, it's fluid.
I bought mine on antelife http://www.antelife.com/free-shipping-newest-x2-mtk6575-4-0-inch-screen-800-480-android-smartphone-with-os-android-4-0.html
Great website, with great customer service !
If you want any info, just ask
2) Usb drivers
I tried some drivers for mtk6575 but didn't work so I installed wandoujia
it is a Chinese program that almost recognize every Chinese phone and install drivers for it !
As I do not have 10 posts on the forum I cannot share the link but google it.
I uninstalled it after because I do not understand chinese, but it seems to be a great program, with which you can install lots of app (chinese app) that are not on the market.
3) Root
The easiest way to do it is with superoneclick !
It didn't work for me (stuck at step 7) so i used another tool that I found on these forum for the zopo 100
i had to restard my computer several time and launch again and again but it finally worked
Hope this thread can help some people
Hope customs ROM will arrive !
4) Stock firmware !
thanks to antelife.com customer service here is a link with stock IMG and some tools !!

Thanks
it's not the same model in fact,
not the same screen and not the same camera
One the X2 i do not have any pb of gps
Is there any topic about Star B79
no, but b79, x310e and X2 are similar phones. So we can group them in the same topic or just create another one, as you wish.
It it is for your gps pb here is what I have :
- geolocalisation and maps work well and fast with data (3g or wifi)
- if I turn off data if have no geolocalisation but I can load the map (even with the gps off so I don't really understand)
Greaves,
Regarding 2) USB Drivers:
There's now an English-language version of Wandoujia. It's called SnapPea and is available for free at SnapPea.com
Would love to hear your feedback--I know that's been a pain point for users with Chinese Android phones!

i've just received this great phone.
I'm satisfied with the performance, screen and the touch pad.
I just wonder is there any official firmware/custom rom available yet?
If i'm not asking too much it will be great if there is a repartition fix also.

I got my Star One X2 last week, have exactly the same problem. I put Route66 (Navigaiton + maps) from andoid market its an offline navigator I just found. I put the same software on a Samsung Galaxy s2. Put both devices on the dashboard on the highway. Turned off WiFi and Data. It seemed equal for a while both were navigating the same way, but as soon as I passed a small village, the X2 would get out of track and show me in the woods or off-roads, while I was driving 130km/h, but the S2 continued just fine. It got back on track after the village was gone. Inside the town, it would jumb to different roads. So there has to be a problem with manucaturing. I just sent an request to the eBay seller asking for repair.....
Did you get any feedback on yours?

The solution is keep the internet connection off (gprs, 3G, wifi) and it works ok. The problem my apear again when you receive o phone call... the solution is turn The gps connection off and on again...
This is my Expirience... any ideas or solutions?

Thank you, my x2 has problems with the GPS, the wrong position 2-500 m.
In addition, each time using the GPS, after work with difficulty, almost blocked for 5 minutes. I'm going to contact the vendor for help, but if you could solve with a cooked rom and instructions for assembly, it would be great! (sorry I'm a little more than a rookie)

NEW Android Phone Siemens Gigaset SL930a

This is a home cordless phone featuring Android 4.0.4 (JB)
Would it be worth a section in this forum?
http://www.gigaset.com/de_DE/lp/sl930.html
worth a section
probably yes
but a lot of the software it comes with is not open source
so I don't know whether you can port the DECT parts of the software to newer Android Version
maybe the same Android Version works though -> Cyanogenmod 10
since I'm not an Android developer (just a more or less experienced user) my opinion may not be right
Hah that's pretty neat.

How did you managed to get root on your device?
Today I found this:
http://www.srsroot.com/supported
SRSRoot claims to support Gigaset's SL930
Haven't tested it though because I want a reliable root method that doesn't brick my device.
I will wait for others to report whether it is reliable.

Black List for incomming calls
Hi all,
I have just got this phone
BUT, unfortunately, I haven't been able to run any 'black list' application in this phone (BlackList Pro, etc...). Any of these applications can detect the Call Log of the phone also...
I suppose that there are some differences in the 'calling' process between a mobile and this home phone, but.... Has been someone able to create/install a black list for unwanted phone numbers????
I'm a bit desperate with it :crying:
Thanks!!
of course they had to rewrite the whole phone application (or at least the whole base), because they needed to use DECT instead of mobile networks and they show missed calls and internal numbers in an additional tab
someone would need to adjust a blacklist application for the app
or you just use a different router like a so called Fritz!Box from AVM for DECT/analog and your calls -> it has a blacklist inbuilt I think and you can access it through it's webinterface
SL930H Gigaset
This SL930H Handheld has 2 seperate parts. 1 for DECT and the other is Android 4.04 JB.
DECT questions I can answer, the Android part is build in under licence.
Through your Google account you can load contactpersons into your DECT Smartphone.
For the rest you most depend on Android like it is a Smartphone.
Rumours are the Kitkat will be available in times.......

worth a section
probably yes
but a lot of the software it comes with is not open source
so I don't know whether you can port the DECT parts of the software to newer Android Version
maybe the same Android Version works though -> Cyanogenmod 10
since I'm not an Android developer (just a more or less experienced user) my opinion may not be right

the last thing I knew off is that they are working on Jellybean (4.3)
I'm running the dev version (you need to change your update channel to receive it, write me a PM if you want to know how to do that), it's running faster and smoother, but probably still has some bugs in it
(bad lag spike everytime I pull the phone out of the charger station which is nerve-racking if you want to answer a call, because the device doesn't react for a second or so
I am debugging an app that does call detection on the Gigaset SL930 and what happens is that the method PhoneStateListener.onCallStateChanged is called first with state = CALL_STATE_RINGING, but number is null; and only the next time the method is called, with state = CALL_STATE_IDLE the number is present.
Is this a bug on Gigaset's implementation?

contact them

or

Yep, just did exactly that. I will post if I get an answer from them!
for black-list, i do this:
I create a contact "SPAM"
I set this contact with ringtone mute
when there is a call that I don't want, I add his number to this contact
So next time there is a call from this phone number, the ringtone is mute for this

That's a valid tip, but I'm developing a phone book application, so, it doesn't really apply in my case.

Hi dJ fex,
could you help me with the dev Version of the gigaset sl 930? Unfortunately my phone has many lags and I would like to test this one... Thanks a Lot. Flo6677

Hi, I'm also interested in the dev version and what it particularly changes. The phone has terrible lags and a very outdated Android version. Does anyone reliably know if they are working on a firmware update?
