Hi, I bought this phone Monday, I upgraded him to 4.2.2 yesterday from Update Center, used the phone normally (and taked some pictures too) and now I'm having this issue when I try to acess the Camera app.
How I could solve this?

Try Factory resetting it.
If that doesn't do it then use the "Repair" feature on PC Companion.

Now my problem is 50% solved. The front camera is now working (checked that in Xperia Diagnostics), but nothing about the rear camera.
Flashed C2105_15.0.A.2.17_CE.ftf.

A (dummy) way to resolve the problem
I have found the answer!
just goto Settings > Apps > All
and disable Xperia camera add-ons
My camera is OK after that!
U have to go to xperia service center

I once had an xperia Miro that did this with the Front camera, i had to take it back to service center , lucky me warranty covered the fix , make sure u relock your boot loader , remove root etc , before u take it to them , or else they will pin the problem on u and charge u.:highfive::highfive:. hpe i helped
I've repaired my phone using PC Companion, but it didn't solve the issue, i still see "camera not available". Any solutions?
Hi
I have set the microphone to "off" in the camera settings for video recording and the problem has been partly resolved. The only problem that remains is that my video recordings are going to be silent.

Its a proximity sensor which might have been activated by any app. Do u have Viper app installed? If so, uninstall it and check (and probably with a reboot).

Its reported that latest version of Viper has this issue. If u have backup of previous version of Viper, u can use that. It will not have this issue.

Ok. You didnt root or unlock bootloader yet, right? So its still covered by waranty. Do a factory reset first, then claim your waranty.
Now using:
Sony Xperia tipo ST21i
stock 4.0.4
11.0.A.4.22
(rooted, locked bootloader)
Current problem:
Cant get past installing flash drivers in xp.
Quality of front camera is really not DAT Gd..but if yo urs is worse then maybe our piece is defective...just send it back..

Try clearing data of camera application. If that fails do a factory reset or repair your phone using pc companion. If all fails, flash a .ftf for your region

Do share more details about your problem, so more guys can help. Screen shots would be great.
Does rebooting solve the problem? And are you sure if no third party app is using the camera?

maybe your best bet would be to go to the service centre...imo, everything indicates this to be a hardware problem
though disheartening, but these kind of error do happen...when i got my phone, the NFC wasn't working bcoz of a mobo issue...go get it replaced

Make repair with SUS or PC companinion, then if not work go to service.

Hello Xperia L'ers. Now I am going to show how to get Superior Auto Mode for our Xperia L.
No root needed
Just grab this apk file and install it.
With this installation you can use your default camera app with superior auto mode.
Pictures are awesome during low & medium light.
Rest of the camera works as it is before.
If any problem just comment & I'll try to build a new apk file for you guyz.
Edit1: Some of you guys having problem of automatic uninstallation of the app, in this case
rename the file to "SemcCameraUI.apk" and copy the file to "system\app" and set permissions to "rw-r-r".
Link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/micnddj1qf96zdq/Camera.XL.apk
I think you are not on latest Firmware. The new firmware 4.2.2 i think can click as good as Superior Auto mode or better!
Anyway thanks for the share. Will surely test it

Nyc job Bro :good: It's just awesome!
I think i found a bug. When you open cam app, there'll be small pics to go to the gallery on the bottom right corner right? It's not in proper shape. The edges of those pics are pixalated. i mean they do not have proper shape and they do not have proper edges. i'm out of station so i cant upload pic nd show you. is that supposed to be like that? or and modification is required? :fingers-crossed:
