[Q] CM11 (4.4.2) problems with mobile network - Samsung Galaxy S II Plus

Hi,
I recently flashed my I9105P with latest CM11 with Android 4.4.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568665). And everything seems to be ok, but there is one thing. Suspicious often I got information that "network is unreachable" , status bar says that I have 4bars of network coverage, but I can't make calls or even receive them. Restarting phone, or cleaning cache doesn't help. Does someone have any idea how to check or fix this problem?
Thanks

I had the same problem this week, but the last CM build was on my phone since 30th december, so i cant blame CM.
Solved it by changing the SIM card at a Orange Shop.
Try the phone with a different SIM, see what happens.

Had the same but later i click "choose automatically" and it solved problem for me

choose what? All I can select is prefered network (2G/3G), network provider is selected automatically. Somewhere I saw settings (I can't remember where) that allows me to choose 2G|3G or 2G|3G|2G+3G. But I don't know does it matters what option is chosen.

4G LTE Problem CM10

Flashed on verizon CM10 and now 4g does not work. wiped and flashed again and still 4g does not work.. so confused
Did 4g not work from the start? The most important thing to make sure is that you don't mess with any settings under the Mobile Networks menu in Settings. I've found that when I even look at that I lose data, don't mess with mobile network toggles either. Also download the Phone Info app from the Play Store and set the network service to LTE/CDMA auto (PRL), that has worked for some people.

Yea thats what i did. I messed with the Mobile networks. I changed everything back, what do you suggest i do?
Seems to be a common problem, reverted back to stock fixed it.

Yeah, did you mess with them the second time? I did the same thing and I just backed up my user downloaded apps with Titanium Backup and then reflashed CM10 and the GApps and stayed away from data, so far so good (although I've only been running this second flash for about 4 hours). If you want to try that I believe it should work for you too
My experience running CM roms 4G is usually one the things that don't work in early stages of the rom

Phone Info from the app store fixed this for me. Switched it over to LTE/CDMA/EVDO (didn't have a LTE/CDMA auto (PRL) option...?)Currently running 4G just fine on Synergy 1.1.

[Q] cannot use data on phone

PLEASE IGNORE , I FIXED THE PROBLEM...ALL I DID WAS LEAVE THE PROXY FIELD BLANK AND JUST USE THE SERVER FIELD INSTEAD!!
Hi, I am new to this site and new to Android over all. I recently got a Samsung Galaxy T959v. When i got it, it was on gingerbread however it was unlocked and to unlock it I took it to a technician. When i got it back it was back to stock Froyo, I hated this and tried to update via kies but it wouldn't work. It said unregistered firmware. I asked around and got help to upgrade to ICS using CM9 (BIG THANK YOU TO Cascabreu!!)
However since then the data on my phone does not work, WiFi is fine but the network data is not.
The message i get when i try to use the browser is :
CONNECTION PROBLEM: Authentication via the proxy was unsuccessful.
I thought maybe its the ROM, so i used a different one, AOKP Milestone 6 and its the same problem. When i go on facebook it says network error.
I contacted the network provider and re-entered the APN settings and it still would not work. Weird thing is, if i use the phone as a hotspot, it sends the data to my tablet and I am able to use it..have no clue why it wont work on its own. Also the "E" comes up on the phone indicating that the data settings is on, but it doesn't really "download" data as it should.
Someone please HELP!!!
That's a strange error that I've never seen before. For starters check your IMEI. Settings>about phone>status. If the imei is good then the problem is most likely in your apn settings. What carrier are you with?
Check your IMEI

Whatever that "technician" did, must have messed up your phone, do what they mentioned above, and if anything seems wrong flash back to stock using Heimdall.
If you want we can still put you back into ICS.
Thanks allot guys!! I thought I replied to this post afterwards..... But I fixed the problem...... I was to leave the proxy field blank.... Called the phone company and they told me to put the same info as the server in the space..,.. But that was incorrect!! I left it blank and it worked perfectly!!!

[Q] Mobile data disconnects frequently, does not reconnect on toggling

I'm surprised no one else has faced this problem. Mine and 2 other Explorers I have seen have it.
The mobile data gets disconnected on its own. The 'E' symbol from the network icon goes away. But mobile data is marked as enabled in the settings.
Sometimes, toggling mobile data a couple of times does the trick. Sometimes I have to toggle airplane mode then toggle data. Sometimes even this doesn't work and I have to reboot the phone to get data to work.
This disconnection happens every couple of hours, so it is a real pain.
I am using cm9, I had the problem on stock too and on every ROM I have tried.
I have tried marking the network type to 'GSM only' in the 'Testing' menu (from 'GSM/WCDMA auto') as I read somewhere that this solves the problem. Still no luck.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I guess my apn is correct, since net does work normally (ie. when I'm able to connect). I have tried two sim cards, and know 2 other people who have the same problem, one of them uses a different operator.

Not necessarily, sometimes it goes off while I'm browsing etc, and then just won't come back on. And keep data always on is enabled in settings, and I don't use any battery saving app.
Any idea what the problem is?
Which rom you are using now?
Check if you have data connection or not.
Did you try to connect internet using the same sim card with another mobile
If another mobile connects to internet then reflash your ROM or try another ROM
hit thanks if helped

/QUOTE]
I am using the unofficial cm9.
I have data connection right now. I have used this same sim with my Nokia phone before I got my Explorer without any issues.
Maybe it IS an operator issue, but then there should be many complaints from India about the same thing right?

APN is correct and same sim card mobile data is working fine in other phone. Also, in the time of connection establishment and disconnection I cant receive or send any call

whenever i flash new rom
data wrks fine
bt persinally i hv seen that wen i install twitter
it behaves like ur prob n dsnt mtter if i uninstall it
it kps on dscnncting randomly until i flash new rom
it's a network problem, I had the same issue once so I called the network service centre & they told me that they were upgrading the system & recommended me to use the data plan after few hours.. so after few hours I called again & they confirmed that the problem was solved..after that till now I have no disconnection issues.
With BSNL sim card, I have helped so many friends connect to internet properly by creating an APN "bsnlnet". By default HTC and all use the old APN (gprssouth.cellone.in). That connects for a while and disconnects.
And Nokia phones automatically receive a configuration setting message from BSNL but Android doesn't.

I've used cm9, cm10, cm10.1, aosp, aokp, jaggy, cm10.2 weekly. It's the same with my TATA DOCOMO sim. I ported to vodafone and with the correctly configured apn settings, its working great. It's definitely a provider problem and has been for the last 2 years.

P6200 WiFi Issue

Hey guys. This is my first thread here. So, I hope you can help me.
When I upgraded my GT+ to ICS then now to JB, I already had problems with the WiFi. I thought I would find the problem in the forums, but mine I think is different. There are two arrows in the WiFi indicator, the orange and the green ones. When these two arrows are both lighted up, it means that it is transferring data to the Tab or whatsoever so that I could connect to the Internet. Well, this is based on my understanding, hope you could still help me about this.
So, the problem is, whenever I open the internet and enter an URL, the green arrow stops blinking leaving the orange ones lighted up until both of them are already not blinking and then the browser says, "Webpage not available" (like the attachment below). It happens all the time and whenever I update my Apps in the Google Play, after, example: 23% of downloading the app, it stops and the same scenario happens again. What I do is, I will turn off the WiFi toggle and turn it on again and after, maybe 30 minutes, it happens again.
What do you think guys is the problem? Is it the router or modem's problem too? Or it is a software issue? Thank You guys! ))

Yes. I have tried it on my sister's S3 Mini. I never experienced that scenario when my GT+ was still Honeycomb. It just happened when I updated it to ICS.
These are also some happenings:
- When I will refresh the Accuweather widget, it will happen again. Both of the arrows will stop blinking.
- When I am updating 15 Apps (for example), again, Both of the arrows will stop blinking then it will stop downloading.
- When I am using Google Now then I said something, it will just show "Recognizing" then it sill show "No connection."
- When I am surfing the web and then I searched something, again the arrows will stop blinking, then the browser says, "Webpage is not available"
- When I am uploading photos to Facebook, same scenario again and then it will show, "No connection"
The WiFi is not disconnecting actually. It stays connected but it stops giving data. I'm suffering from this problem since ICS. I don't know what's really the source of this problem. That's why I'm seeking for help here in XDA. Thank youuuu.

My router actually is Tenda and I think it's already old. So, I'll try other routers. )
Make sure you have the correct wifi frequency band set on your tab for your region/or router. I'm not sure if the stock Samsung roms let you configure it. In aosp builds it's in wifi and advanced menu.

In the Advanced menu, it only shows the IP and MAC Address. How can I know the correct frequency band? I posted an attachment for the picture of the Advanced Settings. )
It seems the problem come from your modem.
I had similar problem like this. My wifi router connect to modem and sometimes this modem does not allocate IP for router.
This problem is most likely related to IP configuration issues. Let try to use some apps to list down all configurations and check
I only experience this every after flashing roms coz my apn settings always gets edited, what I did before if i dont want problems with wifi every after flashing roms using odin was I copied my apn settinngs and edit the wrong apn settings after flashing, or I remove sim card before flashing but I made a copy of apn just to be sure

APN has nothing to do with wifi. APN applies to your cell data connection. 3g, LTE, etc. not to wifi.

How about "Download Booster" in Settings > Connections > More Connection Settings > Download Booster
That uses WiFi & Data simultaneously
Might also be "Smart Network Switch" under advanced wifi settings

You got WiFi calling enabled? Or VoLTE?
Or mobile hotspot?
Apparently caller ID apps will also cause this

I use Adguard and only see WiFi when on WiFi, and only see 4G when out of range of WiFi
It was same for me, but it just happened on both phones (one have never been rooted) and when I uninstall addguard again Wifi OR 4G icons, not both!
Maybe WIFi doesnt have internet access and phone switches mobile data on?
I found the Problem - SIM card I exchanged it and everything is OK for now
My bad, it wasn't SIM card but SD Card 200GB one
I have a similar problem. Very rarely, but it happens. Wifi and mobile data stay connected at the same time. And the bigger problem is that during this, one of the cpu M cores stays stuck on max load and frequency. Restart solves the issue, but i need to figure it out.
Android system usage goes up in the battery stats, but there are lots of processes included there. Is there an app that i can use so i can see in real time, which single process is ramping up one of the big cores? The phone is totally stock S7.
I will appreciate the help.
P.S. I really hate Samsung's garbage software !!
This was my solution
I recently downloaded a GPS spoof app and that's what was causing the Wi-Fi and 4g on it says it does it as app only works over mobile data. Due to some location pinpoint on Wi-Fi. Don't know if it's true but deleted it and gifted problem for me.
