Can someone please tell me why I have an error " E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]" being displayed after selecting _wipe Dalvik cache. The phone then completes wiping Dalvik cache.'
As stated earlier, the program does install and apprears to run as well as egb build 4
Is there something I need to do to get this issue resolved. I have tried a different sd card as well as then formatting it with cwm and or in my computer (scanned it using win7) for errors and bad clusters, and copied files from my computer to the root on the sd card. I did root, flash CWM using nvflash, do a droid bachup prior to first installing EGB build 4. and now am at a loss as to how to remedy or repair this "unknown volume" issue on a new install.
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance.
I received that error before while wiping davlik. But only once after I reboot an tried again I never got it again. Am sure you tried that just giving my experience on it

Its normal for are device we don't have sd ext.... That's why it skips over and continues

So it is not dependent on baseband, kernel, rom, etc. It is just a g2x thing, and nothing to be concerned with while moding/flashing various rom's ? :good:

No you just need to recreate the partition using mini tool partition wizard home edition. And flash the Rom again
Before flashing the Rome do a factory reset wipe every thing from recovery except memory card. Obviously.
Hope this helpful the problem mostly cause by the SD card u use
Use SD card off good class
sent from my HTC explorer having ROM cm10.1 beta 3.

[Q] E: unknown volume for path [/ sd-ext].

help me,, my phone galaxy y GT-S5360 error ..
when I will upgrade to 4.4 kitkat, I headed to wipe Dalvik cache, and the message E: unknown volume for path [/ sd-ext].
how to solve it??
probably due to the error message, my phone is expandable only appear after screenshot SAMSUNG GALAXY Y only.
I put cwm-5.0.2.6
rom cynocream v4 and white 1.3.3 kernel .
As far as I understand it, that's no real error-message. When whiping Dalvik cache CWM is trying to wipe an extended partition on your sd-card. This partition can for example be created when using App2SD. If you don't use App2SD and don't have this partition CWM doesn't find it and complains about it but this should be nothing to worry about.

[Q] Can't mount second Link2SD partition in CM 11

I'm not a programmer - I just did my first root of my Galaxy S4 Blaze last month so please bear with me. I posted this under XDA Assist but that was the wrong place...
Yesterday I flashed a version of CM 11 that I had been using for a month with no problems because of some weird things happening with the newer CM 11 nightly I got a couple of days ago. This is what I'm now using again:
cwm-11-20150119-NIGHTLY-t769.zip
When I reinstalled Link2SD after flashing this ROM, I set it to Ext4 as it was before and I got this error:
"Mount Script Error - mount script cannot be created. Can't create handler inside thread that has not called Looper.prepare(0)."
Link2SD was working fine before I wiped the phone and reflashed the older CM 11. I tried uninstalling Link2SD, rebooting, reinstalling and then trying the other formats (Ext 2, 3) with the same result.
Not knowing what else to do I backed up my card and used Mini Partition Wizard to delete and recreate the partitions (FAT32 and Ext4) . Exact same error in Link2SD.
I tried making both partitions FAT32, same error.
I have no idea what else to try here. Can someone help me, please?

Perform a full wipe, including all storages, clean install rom, clean install Link2SD. Try not using any backups and you should be fine.

This is what I was thinking - so it's some kind of little glitch, not related to the card? By cleaning storages do you mean clearing all the caches?

I mean format system, data, cache, dalvik and the sd card in custom recovery before flashing your new system

Before I saw this answer I did this:
In CWM recovery I wiped to factory settings, cleared the cache, cleared Dalvik cache, installed the zip of CM 11 and Gapps. When I rebooted I installed Link2SD and got the same error.
I missed a few steps in your process so will try it again now...
Did it again with the additional steps of formatting the /system and /data folders - no change, same error in Link2SD.
I got in touch with the developer and he sent me a fresh beta APK version, I installed that, and it worked immediately. So, problem solved. Thanks for your help, at least I know the correct process for flashing a ROM now.
