Audio glitches [RESOLVED] - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm getting audio glitches/ digital distortion when listening to music. This happens about every 20 mins or so. I have observed this when using Winamp playing music from my local storage as well as when streaming via Spotify.
How can I trobuleshoot this?
[RESOLVED. It is the kernel which is being addressed]

Bluetooth Media

I listen to a lot of Audiobooks in the car. i've got nice little set up with Liquid Aux bluetooth transmitter. i've noticed that when i used audiobook apps, like Mort i get a lot of interference and the audio will skip every second or two. i've tried several types of audiobook apps and all have the same problem so far. when use a music player like the stock player or doubletwist to play the same audiobook files i dont get any skipping. the bluetooth radio is about 2 inches from the phone itself, so i know its not a range thing. anyway, just wanted to know if anyone has noticed the same thing.

Music players crash

I haven't modified anything on this phone. I have tried the stock music player, Winamp, Pandora and Iheartradio. They all crash after a few minutes. Also, when I use my blutooth speaker for a few minutes, the whole device crashes. Disappointed.
Edit: both streaming and memory card music crashes. I've tried disabling beats audio. Doesn't help.

Weird music bluetooth issue?

So I just installed CM10.1 RC1. My Spotify works fine, but Apollo will pay music out of only one side of my speakers. And Google Music can't even play my local music as it gives me an error.
Any suggestions for a fix?
I noticed the exact same thing only with the Now Playing app. But some songs played through both earphones and some played in stereo. I tried the youtube app while connected and it was in stereo as well. Hopefully it will be updated soon.

[Q] Stuttering Music

Anyone noticing music playback stuttering through both the speakers and headphones? I've tried different music players and the same occurs.

Yep...seems to be a software glitch...does it whether on external sdcard or internal storage or even streaming...annoying but something we will have to tolerate for the moment.
happens to me on SD card but not after i put it on internal memory.
I've had this issue as well and have found a solution.
You need to increase buffer size and/or audio priority.
I use PowerAmp and both of these settings and changed it to 750+ and +1 priority.
I only have skipping audio when played from locally stored music.
I have used the Roku app to stream my music (stored on my SD card) to my Roku (hooked up to my stereo). There is no stuttering. It plays perfectly.
Same Issue
I'm having the same issue but I just got a update on my device and hope this will fix it.

If the roku app buffers enough you wouldn't notice the hiccup even if it had one...but then again several folks have indicated the problem mainly occurs when playing music through the bluetooth connection.

Amazon Music offline car bluetooth stutter

I've been using Amazon Music on the U11 and noticed that it stutters when playing downloaded offline prime music (drm .m4a, not purchased) when connected to a car audio bluetooth (Jeep & BMW). When connected to car bluetooth, streaming via network (wifi/cellular) is no problem but it will always stutter when playing the offline music. Playing from internal memory or sd card didn't make a difference and I've tried it on the most recent OTA with the same result. Also tried disabling the battery optimizer for Amazon Music.
After starting Amazon Music, the first song always plays without stutter but as soon as you change tracks, it will stutter even when returning to the first non-stuttering song. I don't have this issue while connected to plain bluetooth speakers or playing through the phone's speaker or using headphones. No issues with other phones (M9 or S7) or playing local mp3 files using Subsonic . Can anyone else verify this behavior with Amazon Music and playing offline music in your car?
