I just bought the nexus5 today and i wanted to ask which rom is best for performance and stable too. Needs to be clean and very like stock.
I will be using franco kernel too i think.
Hi,
Wrong section, question in general..., http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477886.
Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477889.
The best is to try by yourself and see which one suits your needs, read also the OP of each rom thread to have an idea about features, looks like stock, etc... You can't choose for you, with the lack of informations you provide the stock rom seems good for you...

How do i choose a suited ROM for my desire S ?
There are so many.
It depends on the IMEI or something else ?
Also , whats a "prerooted" ROM ( different from "normal" ROM ? )
Grts
Answer to your last question: a pre-rooted ROM is a custom ROM which already provide root access. If you're unfamiliar to the term root, you should do a little more reading before flashing a custom rom to your device.
Just ensure that you've read through many of the threads available to anyone on this forum, and you'll have a smooth sailing through the seas of custom ROMs.
Your IMEI number doesn't matter.
Try Endymion, it's probably the best (personal opinion) Sense based ROM in the development section.
Loving my Desire S since rooting and flashing a custom ROM, like a new phone

Flinnys CM 11 alpha 3. Very fast and stable after my opinion. There are just some bugs with the camera(video) and bluetooth but check it out anyways.
Hello guys i didnt want to create a new thread.
My mother has a Desire S and is absolutely casual user, the only thing that is important is long battery life and that all features work (No ROMs with Camera bugs and so on pls)
She does not need Tablet Features and whatsoever.
Currently her phone runs MIUI 2.### which is a battery eater and quiet strange.
Do you have any ROM to suggest? Just a very stable, reliable Android with much battery life?
Thx for your help !

Hey guys!
Just got a second-hand Desire S.
I am looking for am advice about a custom ROM with Sense.
What is the highest version of Android with the highest version of Sense available? The best would be: Sense 5.5 with Kit-kat I think.
Any suggestions? Would like a "stable" version if possible.

Hello, I'm new to kernels and know not much about them except you can flash them like roms but, exactly where can I find a place with the most reliable kernels and if so, which one would be the best in terms of giving me the greatest/fastest performance? & also another different kernel that offers great performance as well as great battery life? (Running CM 10.1 stable on GS3, T-999)

Actually no one can give you an apt answer rather than yourself for which is the best. You may have to try yourself to know which is the best kernel, just like your try ROMs. Go to your device forum, pick up the most active kernel threads, read comments and feedbacks from members in the thread and you can try after getting an initial idea about the same.

kernel- http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=ROM-VS-Kernel#The_kernel
hi guys. Im new here. I got a question. I wanna install a custom rom on my htc one m7. but i dont know which rom is good. I wanna improve battery life, rom should look streamlined and useful. anyone can help me ?
Hi,
Asking which Rom is best is against XDA Rules The reason is that all developers develop their Rom's with difficulties and lot of efforts hence pointing to 1 rom disrespects work of other rom developer Also what rom satisfies me may not satisfy you because all depends and varies from user to user whether what apps they install , their usage of device , their they way of features they want etc Hence best way is to try the Rom's yourself and judge which rom is best for suited for you
Good Luck!
I know this isn't an important question but does anyone have a favourite ROM that they would like to share? I currently run Cyanogenmod 12 but I'm not so keen on the no service problem.

There is nothing called good ROM / best ROM / favourite ROM
One thing I can suggest
Head over to development section. Try yourself Few ROMs so that you will get a feel of the ROMs performance, stability, features.
To know more info about any ROMs here is the tip.
1. Read 1 post of ROMs development thread once, twice or trice
2. Read at least 3 last pages of the same development thread so that u can know about problems, new features etc.
NB : in fact best ROMs / best kernel are threads restricted in xda

Stock rom + gravity box
lollipop Stock rom by lost101 is great in battery backup and performance you can use gravitybox to tweak the rom for your needs :good:
optimized 1.2a is good
I'm planning to tweak my phone with custom ROM and possibly kernel too if there's a noticable difference. Where do you think I should start? I've never installed a custom ROM nor custom kernel on this phone but I've installed a custom/hybrid OS on a blackberry before.
Edit: Just read the sticky that I can't post a question on this forum. And I don't know how to move this topic to Q&A forum. Sorry about that.
I tried all custom roms
Best rom for me is NNE 3.1 N5 port by alexisXda with Noxxx kernel V7
After all my personal test its the best custom rom with AOD and great battery and performance.
Good luck man.
