Hi All,
I have my Note 10.1, and i had to install an exchange email for which i had to encrypt the device and the SD. now that i removed this email account, i want to decrypt the device "i noticed that it gets slow after encryption especially with the S-Pen".
the problem is that i don't see a Decrypt option, it is grayed..
when i go to settings>security>Decrypt Device
it says charge your device to at least 80% and connect the charger, and set an unlock passoward of at least 6 characters, contining at least 1 number.
after charging and connecting the charger, it still ask to set this password and the "Decrypt Device" at the bottom is grayed!
so my question, is how to decrypt this device??

i unfortunately broke my screen the other night and was wondering if it was possible to still get my files and messages off of it:
-verizon if it matters
-maybe 2% of the screen flashes
-i have a fingerprint unlock
-it has never been off since this happened
here is what ive tried:
-installed samsung smart switch but it will not recognize phone since it is not in file transfer mode (cannot do this because of broken screen)
-hooked up an old monoprice micro hdmi adapter to try a second screen but it does not seem to work (perhaps user error)
-got on android device manager and thought i could unlock it but it only seems to lock...changed password but it said something about already having a lock on there so not sure
any other options or info on what i am doing wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated...tia!
Should be able to get your files from it just by connecting it to USB on the PC
By default it should open as a storage drive as long as the phone is unlocked
For messages, if you didn't disable Samsung cloud backup/sync, they should be in your samsung cloud account
I found myself in a very strange situation It was asking me to “type password to decrypt storage” and was not letting skip this step. I was both baffled and surprised at seeing this as I had never set any sort of password on that smart phone. I tried entering some of the usual passwords. I even wantform the service center for the mobile phone manufacturer but ended up wasting time.
Please inform us about the device name you're having problems

My mobile's LCD was broken and after 4 months I've got it repaired but I've forgotten my pin code. I know the email and account is mine which is linked with it but not showing any recovery option on lock screen, even after entering wrong password for 10 to 15 times. Is there any way that I can use my phone without losing data?
Hello. My mother has recently found her old Samsung Galaxy S7 and doesn't remember the pin. She has some very important photos (Baby Pictures, ETC) on the phone and needs to get them somehow. She has never turned on any development options or USB Debugging. I don't really know what else to post here because this is my first post. I was told by a friend that this forum could help

The only way to unlock without wiping data is to use Android Device Manager but you have to know the Google account and password the phone was using.
You can use Google DM on a pc to do this. Your phone must be charged and turned on with an active SIM.
If this does not work, a Samsung repair centre can unlock the device if you have proof of purchase. There is no way to unlock AND save your data if both the methods are not available to you.
You can as a last resort reset the device to use again but all data will be lost.
Also things to check first.
1. Often pictures are stored on the SD card in the phone, remove the card put it into an sd adapter or another phone and see if the pictures are stored there in the DCIM folder
2. Pin numbers are often dates of birthdays or bank card pin numbers etc ask your mum if this is the case it might jog her memory.
