i would say, if you are rooted and have a custom recovery that supports 4.4.x (Philz Touch recovery), make a nandroid backup with it and try Dokdo project 4.4.2 KitKat for me everything works better then 4.1.2/4.2.2 or 4.3 custom roms/stock and use PA-Gapps Full.
Try it, you can always restore your nandroid backup later if you really don't like it
4.4.2 is actually better for me. I recommend giving it a try.

It's so worth it, trust me.
From the moment i tried 4.4 i knew that i could never get a phone with a lower version.
All the phones i tried it on gets better battery time, runs smoother and overall better than any android version before it.
I have no problems at all on my Nexus S running CM11.
Don't listen to much to everyone complaining about things, try it and make up your own mind!
GL mate!
ok i flash the 4.4.2 ..the rom is super fast..but on browser and some plugin not work and sometimes slow ...so if u dont use browser u can go to 4.4.2 for speed

You can load the JB TW ROM and then install the launcher of your choice to change the look. I still prefer that to one of the custom ROMs due to stability and the ability to use Link, IR remote, etc.

I'd like to know what everyone's thoughts are one 4.3 on their S3 so far. I know the 4.3 roms are still in beta, but who anyone consider them daily drivers or are they still just something to tinker with? Thanks for all replies.

Im running PA 4.3 right now and its fine for a DD. The camera can be a bit weird but it works fine 95% of the time. Battery life is amazing running LK. I thought I would have to flash back to TW, but I think im staying with PA for a while.

I figured that would be the one problem if there was any, but that's just how it goes I guess. Thanks for the input. Would you say besides the camera issue, 4.3 is have a noticeable difference that's better than 4.1 and 4.2?

4.3
Any increase in performance?
Sorry guys, this is the first time i've ever run an ASOP rom so I can't tell you about 4.2. I was TW since day one. I was fed up being so far behind in updates that I had to try something. Did my research and decided on PA. The differences I have found are mainly app side. More integration and fluidity between apps and tasks. No reboots or any major bugs have come up. I like the stock android feel. I miss the TW camera but I have a feeling a mod will come around for 4.3.
I'm on PAC man 4.3 and it is so sweet

I'm still waiting for the release of JB for my GT-P6211.
Am a bit hesitant to install JB for GT-P6210.
Is is really worth the risk to install JB, is it really a significant improvement compared to ICS ??
THANKS,
V.
Well, at least you have a hope for upgrade. My t869 will not get one( thank you tmob). None the CM roms are fully functional - so far.
I guess there is no problem. I did upgrade my Gt-p6201 with the gt-p6200 rom and no major issue so far.

By the way Every Android 4.2.2 ROM is Better then Google Stock ROM Android 4.1.2
Benchmark of Stock ROM Android 4.1.2 is Just 1500+ .. So, i am Very disappointed..
I agree that there is no best ROM, I just wish I had the problem of picking a best 4.3 ROM for the NS4G... there are like 3 choices, maybe, and they don't handle data well, if at all.

Benchmark doesn't mean anything. I mean even if the do, there more than a benchmark number to the every day use.
It's also about stability, smoothness, memory management, multi app use.
I truly think 4.2.1 stock is the most stable of all of them. Add a good kernel to it, and it's like google on steroid. Again, we are talking 512ram here, so don't expect too much. People expect different things from their phone. I don't play games at all, but I stream music via bluetooth constanly while I use navigation. Imagine these 2 memory hogs running at the same time and someone is calling you.
4.2 for me personally was a bit buggy. 4.3 is much better, still not as good as 4.1.
Does BlackBean-9 to Nexus S?
Sorry folks, best rom threads get closed, why? because history shows that almost all of them become arguments over what rom is "better" and essentially, that is something that can only be determined by individual users.
Members are expected to read the thread in development to determine what is "best" for them.

no it cant be done (or rather, it wont be done because of all the time and effort needed to backport everything on the nexus 5).
and im suprised flash still even works in dolphin. though id bet money that flash will stop working with no workarounds in the next major android update.
SO i say get used to it now, because it wont be here forever
