Hello,
Id like to request some support.
I have successfully rooted my galaxy tab (7 inch model, gingerbread) and that seems to be working correctly: I have that super user app install, and every time I launch a root like app (such as shoot me etc..) there's the pop up asking for permission.
Problem comes at the next step: busybox. I have downloaded the busybox installer from the market. Followed the steps... latest message I saw from the app is that everything went smooth, but when I launch apps that require busybox (such as Shark), application says it cant find busybox...
After rebooting, I go again to the busybox installer (I got the two of them now available on the market). Once says I don't have root, which BS, and invites me to go to the super user app and forget the settings about that application. That I do, and doesnt do anything. App request root priveleges, which I grant, but it will still tell me that it doesnt have them.
The second busybox app goes a little further: It gets the root powers (which once again proves my phone is definitely rooted) and it says something like phone is rooted and many copies of busybox were encountered.
Apparently I got more than a single copy. But when I try to "re-install" it, this is what I get: can not install because system is not in read write mode.
And i did remount the system folder with root tools pro but I still get the same message...
So, how could I resolve this situation?
Ive got a Galaxy Ace GT S5830 and want to Root it.
Got advice from this Utube - (not allowed to show it)
Got BusyBox - installed and GalacyAce Unlock Beta installed as well.
Busybox tells me "Problem opening the shell with root access. This is caused by Superuse /Supersu or an improperly installed device.
Try removing Superuse /Supersu permissions, unistall /reinstall this ap n then regrant permissions for Superuse /Supersu.
Download RootChecker to verifiy correct root."
Rootchecker says the device does not have proper root access.
Another utube tute tells me to uninstall SuperUser with SuperOneClick. Did that - or thought I had but Rootchecker tells me otherwise See above)
Two days later I am a wreck...and a naive one at that.
Can you help pls.
dont watch youtube videos, there usually outdated and made by some sketchy ten year old that doesnt know what hes doing

OK guys, so I finally found a working root for my Verizon Note 3 that had MJE pre-installed. On top of that, it didn't trip Knox either! There's a Chinese rooting program called "VROOT" that you need which the most simple routing method I've seen even with a portion of the program in Chinese. Just install the program on a Windows computer, correct your device, wait for the root button to enable then click on"Root". There is an English version here: mgyun.com/en/getvroot*. The English version still has some Chinese though but I was able to navigate and successfully root the 1st try. One other caveat, the program installs a Chinese version of SuperSU so you'll need to manually download the English version from the play store and during the first boot of the English version of supersu it gives you the option to uninstall the Chinese version. Hit yes to uninstall the Chinese version then full reboot and the English version will run. I verified through rootchecker, titanium backup and obviously all the root restricted programs I've installed since. Also, make sure you have developer options turned on (enable it by tapping on the build number in Settings>About Phone 7 times) then USB debugging enabled, install from unknown sources enabled in Settings>Security and unchecked verify apps in the same directory. Vroot also installs a Chinese version of an app store...not sure if it's goo manager or some other app because it's in Chinese. I haven't uninstalled it yet as I'm not sure if I need it for the root.
I hope this helps any of the frustrated Verizon users that just bought the note 3 with MJE pre-installed.

Is vroot safe? Are there alternatives to vroot for MJE? Is there a timetable documenting firmware version by date? For instance, is MJE more recent than MJ3? If so, can an MJE build be downgraded?
At the time, VRoot was for obtaining information about your phone and sending Chinese servers.
Not too sure what the is now but it's advised that should it caution or just don't use it at all even even though it does provide a way to root.
Just ROOTed an MTK6582 device with Chinese iRoot PC application (not vRoot but the successor of vRoot) and everything went well. I now find two (Chinese) apps "iRoot.APK" & "SuperUser.APK" in "/root/system/app" path with same icon (white horse head in Blue shield). My current knowledge tends me to think a single super user manager app is suppose to manage the app SU permission requests. So now I am confused about the purpose of these two apps and am not sure if both of them are needed for real. In my launcher app drawer I can see the Chinese super user app icon (single app icon) and tapping that icon brings up the Chinese super user manager app, but am not sure which app this icon is launching!
So, my question is, are both the apps necessary for keeping the ROOT state and managing the app SU requests. If not, which one is safe to remove (delete)?
Thanks is advance.

iroot (formerly vroot) installs two apps, a superuser app and a app that no one really knows what it does.
you can safely delete the apk called iroot.apk, you ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT delete the superuser.apk.
in any case, i highly advise getting rid of vroot and going to supersu completely with this handy tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532818
Actually, the file name is "iRootSU.apk", and what I discovered is, deleting this app makes the "SuperUser.apk" (Chinese) visible in app drawer (before deleting the "iRootSU.apk" none were visible).
Trying removing Chinese vRoot apps with the advised method was bitter It revoked ROOT privilege and SuperSU was not installed. Mine is KitKat 4.4.2 on MTK6582. The only ROOTing method worked on this device is iRoot.
iRootSU.apk & SuperUser.apk are the same, iRootSU.apk is the successor.
Is there any special reason we should not be using the Chinese iRoot apps?

I've used the iroot app also on my ulefone u7. Kingroot isn't an alternative as the supersu app conflicts with titan backup. With the iroot superuser app TB works.
Is there anyone who could provide a translation of the menu of the chinese superuser app. (app with crowned lion head) Perhaps it is the same menu as supersu as it resembles supersu.
edit :
I replaced the superuserapp with supersu pro. I was able to make it compatible with titanium backup.
app with crowned lion head
How can I remove the. chinese superuser app. (app with crowned lion head) from my tablet. I do also factory reset but I can not remove it.
I used iroot on my Lenovo B6000 tablet because no other tool would do the job. I'd rather get rid if it now and replace it with supersu, but it seems to protect itself against removal: Even when I remount /system rw, and have root in the adb shell, trying to remove the binaries gives me "operation not permitted". That's kind of nasty. I wonder how it protects itself.

Yes, did that. It's well worth the 1 € and does the job just fine. I just wonder /what/ it does that I couldn't accomplish on the command line. I suppose it has to do with killing some services installed by iroot, which prevent removal.
i rooted my phone by iroot.but it says that not properly rooted when chcked by root checker.sombody help
Hello, I'm having a problem with opening up an google pay wallet because my phone is read as rooted. The thing is it is not rooted. I rooted in a previous version of MIUI but after updating the root fell apart and I didn't have root permission's nor is my phone found rooted by root checker. Yet I st ll have problems.
how do I unroot an unrooted phone
Edit: root checker finds that root is not properly installed
Xiaomi mi 9 Lite
Android (And most Linux distros) will have a binary file namer "superuser" to give root access to a user (Or simply just switch to the root user)
The problem is simple: You updated while having root permissions, and this caused you to be the superuser (also known as root) while not having properly functioning root access. You can't do much, try flashing a new ROM maybe.
I want to remove root Access altogether not try and reroot it. Unless fully rooting again would help me unroot
Disable all permissions from Google play service and set up Google pay.
Then re enable them after your Google pay is set up.
Im adding google pay to an existing bank account, i still tried but it doesnt work. would factory resetting maybe help? i know it doesnt delete system files so it wouldnt unroot a rooted phone but maybe it might just work?
