Hello, guys, nice to be part of this forum.
Got my Moto G today and I was wondering if this phone has the latest version of KitKat and how I can flash it?
Sorry for posting like this it's just I don't have an idea how this phone works with updates, flashing and that stuff, I just got it today! D:
Thanks in advance and happy new year! (kinda late)

You have 2 options:
1. Wait for the official update OTA for your device to come
2. Flash the US rom and the KK OTA from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578997 and follow the guide to the letter if you want it asap.

1. Is it really that important that you have to start a new thread about it?
2. It is obvious that nobody can know this at this time, so again, why start a new thread about it?
3. Is there any important fix for Moto G in 4.4.3? I´ll answer myself - no, there isn´t. So why start a new thread about it?

Yes. There are. Read changelog:
1.) data connection fix
2.) led after lost call fix
3.) others
So...

Isn´t that all for Nexus only? AFAIK yes - I´ve never seen those problems on a Moto G.
You are right that the forum is not mine, but I still can´t see a reason to start another useless thread. And yes, it is useless, because even if there was a single fix for Moto G, it is clearly obvious that noone can know if and when the update is coming.
I think in news mentioned to G but GPE

If the 4.4.3 update was Nexus only, how come the Moto X showed up as one of the first to get it after the Nexus 5 and so on? It's obviously not only a fix for the N5. Pull that head of yours out of.. you know, and be a fine person for once, the guy picking on the OP.
So anyways there isn't news about the G is getting it, not even when. Although I read yesterday the update might hit us in April yet, could be horse****.

I was talking about the fixes that Denzel mentioned. Those are Nexus specific.
Sorry for being so blunt, but I remember XDA from days when smart people came here to share useful information and to ask smart questions. The question in the OP is neither. Today this forum is full of noobs that either ask questions that have already been answered 100x or questions about deadlines. Like the one in the OP. Neither is useful for anyone and OP´s question even can´t be answered..

None of the reasons you gave are enough to pick on him and be rude, it's a question made out of curiousity in the proper section of the sub-forum. There is nothing wrong with it, perhaps someone else would know something the OP doesn't else I doubt he would even bother coming in here and asking on the first place. If you don't wanna answer it, leave it be that someone else might just do it, there's no need to show off the high horse you're riding at right now. And last I checked, the more old grumpy users complain about this kind of posts, the more the forum loses activity - seen it happen with dozens of others. Nobody wants a dead community, but a active and sharing one, at least from my part.
Anyhow, it's answered, if any news come up of the update it will be posted.

I don't remember, but think not, maybe you will make the update manually, in this case you make a conversion from international version to gpe so this can be a problem about automatic updates. Hope someone will can reply with more help.

The rollout is starting this week. It may take another few weeks before it is rolled out to all users. The rollout doesn't even seem to have began yet for the G anyways.

As a matter of a fact some people started recieving it today on Brazil, a couple hours ago. Some people as in 1 to 5% of users, it will sure take a while for everyone to get it.

nice just got a notification on my phone that an update is available.
I wonder if a rooted and custom kernel (experience) would interfere with a smooth upgrade?
- would I lose root?
- custom kernel problematic?
thanks merlin

Hi guys.I had an Xperia Z since yesterday, when i bought an AT&T LG G3.I'm from Romania and the man from whom I bought it got it from the USA.When I want to make the software update,it tells me that the latest version is installed. But the version i have is 4.4.2,and the latest is Lollipop...
So,is there a way to do the software update?I wouldn't like to install CM 12.1 because, from what i've read,it's full of bugs...
Thanks!

This has been asked a good amount of times in just a few days. No you cannot. You'd have to root , flash twrp, and then flash a rom that you'd want to use.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I searched the internet but i didn't found the answer.
Why?Only because i don't use an AT&T SIM?

Since you don't have att service in your country you have no option but root, flash tarp and flash the rom of your preference.
I have rooted the phone and i've installed twrp, but i didn't find a good, stable ROM.Can you reccomend me one good ROM?
Suggestions

If you read the "Index" thread, you could find this, which is what I think you want: Stock Lollipop 5.0.1
Of course, official (nightly) for cm12.1 just came out. Find that yourself.

I currently have a shield tablet Y01 ,its on stock Nougat (5.1 ota update). not rooted or bootloader unlocked
Previous owner did the recall and new tablet will be here in 3-4 weeks , so tablet is currently working
What can I do to make sure this isnt killed ?
Need a n00b guide really as havent flashed anything since a htc desire
no one ??
Root, then use a root explorer to delete TegraOTA.apk.
Root guide is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399737
TegraOTA guide is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/general/kill-kill-switch-shield-tablet-xx-t3179489
Alternatively, you can flash any custom ROM. They will prevent the tablet from updating as well.
So... The old killswitch-killer still works on Nougat? I could flash the nvidia stock, delete the TegraOTA.apk and go on with the newest official nvidia version?

Yup, did it successfully yesterday also. After stumbling onto this thread, i was encouraged enough... Went pretty smooth.
BTW, newest FullOTA (WiFi) is available directly from nvidia servers, as An Droid mentions here: http://ota-downloads.nvidia.com/ota...-full_ota-1928188_850.6612.20170219210839.zip
Hello,
Sorry for up this last thread, but I'm in the same position that the OP.
I have a pyro tablet on stock Nougat (the original owner did the recall) and it is still working (for 3 weeks). Is the kill switch disallowed for Nougat?
Should I unlock the bootloader and root it for remove the TegraOTA?
Thank you!
