Hi!
I already bought my Sony Ericsson X10 mini and I like to hear some advices about apps and games, and also some tipos:
- What GPS should I install (do you advise to install maps in SD to not use the 3G when using the GPS)?
- What applications do you use to synchronize contacts and calendar from Outlook?
- Which application do you advise to "kill" memory from time to time?
- We can install applications or games in SD? (If yes, what are the differences in installing in memory or in SD?)
- What are the best games to play in X10 mini?
Thanks for the help

Anyone can help?
- If you can have a constant data connection to your phone, just use Google Maps. It's simple, powerful, and easy to use (I use it since I can't find any GPS with more accurate maps for my country Egypt)
- Sorry, I only use Google Contact Sync and Calendar.
- Generally, it's not a good idea to use Task Killers on Android. You can confirm this from the more experienced and informed guys here, as I don't know the nitty gritty on this one
- Currently, not yet (atleast without a hack). The next Android update, Froyo (2.2), should provide this functionality.
Hope this helps!
Just wondered how I can add some of my games not showing into my Play Launcher? I bought NFS: Shift and works but doesn't show in the launcher which is annoying as the demo did!?
I'd also like to add my emu's and a few other games to it if I can?
I think that we need to modify the PlayLauncher for custom apps :>
As atm you cant add anything on your own
Hey FK,
I was surfing for a similar answer as to why my Launcher isn't showing the latest games & stumbled across your answer in the SE forums from an admin:
-------------
Maybe you could try to clear data in the Xperia PLAY app.
Menu > Settings > Applications > Xperia PLAY > Clear data.
Check if that might help.
If not, try to download the update for the Xperia PLAY app. Search Market for "Xperia PLAY games launcher" and install the update.
-------------
As for your other answer, I don't know how to add additional items into that menu. I manually installed the NFL demo before & I had to copy a ".so" file into one of the system folders for it to show up on the launcher but sounds like hard work to figure out whats in the .so file. Search for the NFL demo if u are feeling brave.

if this works, sounds like a great app could be made to add user chosen programs to that launcher

.so files are lib files, sounds like we have to add some libs for each game to /system/lib/

Have you tested this? working?
That doesn't appear to be the case. Android seems to tell the app whenever a new package is installed or removed, at which point it decides whether it should be added to the list of games. I'm looking deeper into how this all works.
Games for sale are essentially pulled down from an RSS feed. If your provider has its own store, it can have its own feed as well (which is what Rogers does).
There's a database called content.db that the app uses to populate the user's personal library of games. Game names, package names, install time, last run time, whether there's a manual with it, whether there's an icon or badge, etc.. Now to find out how it decides to put data into that database.
It has its own internal whitelist and blacklist. Whitelist consists of all packages starting with "com.gameloft." and "com.ea." and the blacklist contains "com.ea.tetris" since it doesn't have Xperia Play support.
Found in its testing database for the Xperia Play app: "Super Street Fighter 2 Alpha Turbo Ultra Remix Deluxe Extra Very Long Title Edition" lol
There's a set of different data sources that the app uses to populate its list of games. It looks like PSN will be one of them. There's a class for PSN data sources, however it basically has no real code in it and always returns void. It also has two empty methods, get price and get currency. Don't be surprised if linking to your PSN account is one of the big announcements Sony's been hinting we'll get at E3 (but not without an updated launcher first).
Not all gameloft games appear in the launcher, only xperia play enabled games, maybe if you decompile an experia play enabled .apk, you might find somthing.

I uninstalled Fifa & the other bundled game to reinstall again under setinstalllocation2 but neither have ever shown up in the Play menu since.
Someone managed to solve this problem.
The games also have installed do not appear in the menu of play
Sorry for the poor english
thank you
I don't know, most games optimized for the Xperia Play show up in the Pocket app, Even Minecraft.
Sorry to bump this but is this possible?
To add a game to the Xperia Play Games Launcher?

Good job necro-ing this thread...
The basic answer is that the APK for whatever game has to have a string in it that marks it as Xperia Play optimized. Look for the thread with the Xperia Play touchpad tester. His later version shows up in the Play launcher when it is installed. I think he managed to get all of this from the SDK. So basically, it is up to the developer to include the string (and most just don't know about it).
Can we force add things in? Not really, unless you want to decompile the apk's and add stuff in and then recompile them. Not worth it really. Easier to get a custom secondary launcher instead.
Like wich???

I know right...! Stupid $ony.... screw over all your LiveView users
No it's a successful marketing plan... forcing Liveveiw users to buy a modern xperia phone with ICS OS
It wouldn't work for me with my SmartWatch anyway, didn't even show the SmartWatch app as installed. I reverted to Liveware Manager 3.3.10.
No for me too!
I installed SmartConnect and now I can't see my LiveView in the devices! Also when I try to create an event and when I try to 'add a bluetooth device' I see my LiveView as a paired device, but cannot add it!
Even though the LiveView works through 'LiveView' app, I can't install any plugins!
When I did my check over the internet, the Sony people are saying that it works for LiveView!
Cheers!

I have uninstalled "smart connect" for mistake. My phone is sony ericsson xperia pro mk16a ROOTED. I need help. When I download the app from play store an error, occur which say; "app can not be install in the default location".
Are there any way to recover this app.
With kind regards,
Hello
I´m confused about the following thing:
When opening Google App in Play Store on my z3 device OR with browser on desktop, i got a message that the app is not compatible with my devices!
So what happend?
Can anyone open the play store and search for Google App?
This is the app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
On my tablet z4, the newest version is installed but also nothing to see in play store list or after a search for google app...
Is this a normal thing?
Greetings,
SirRobin
It works fine for me.
You may need to let people know if you are rooted and what ROM you are on. This may be a build.prop issue
I´m currently on stock Sony ROM without root or anything else - both for z4 tablet and z3 Smartphone.

Try logging out of google, clear cache on play store, and log back into google.
Google app in play store
I got the same thing today on both phone and tablet. Hope Google fix it
Google app in play store
Signed out of google. Cleared cache and data. Signed back in to google. Seems OK now.
I have a problem with the Google App and the Google Now Launcher.
Both the notification and navigation bars are solid colours (light blue and black respectively). This happened overnight when I switched ROMs and I haven't found a fix yet.
I am having the same problem. My Sony xperia Z3 doesn't have a default search engine and play store or apps store
