imei wrong???? - General Questions and Answers

I have a Droid RAZR I checked the IMEI and it comes up that the phone is a Bionic. Why does it do that? I am trying to get this phone to work with any carrier too but I am having troubles on how to do that...If some could help me out with this I would appreciate it! I am now confused if I am suppose to follow the Bionic way of "unlocking" the device or Droid RAZR way....and don't understand the point in IMEI # if it doesnt match your kind of phone...second time I have had this happen?!?!

[Q] Droid Incredible 2 (root?)

Does anyone know if the Droid Incredible 2 will have a locked bootloader? Im thinking of getting one, but definitely would want to be able to root it eventually. I would hate to get a phone and be stuck with the same ROM. Thanks.
Eh...

[Q] Downgrade bootloader?

is there a way to flash an earlier version of the droid 2 global bootloader to my phone? and if so out if I wanted to where would I find the file? all help and advice is appreciated, I am still kind of learning and wish to learn more. I hope to become a developer of sorts one day.
If there was a way you wouldn't see as many people asking about sbf files and how to root 629. I wish there was a way but i'm pretty much looking at just coasting for now with my phone until sbf/root is discovered or i get a newer non-motorola phone. Which is a shame because i love their build quality and the sexy battery for the maxx.

Ahh. I understand. You're right though it's a shame because I love their build as well. Going to have to get a new phone or something. I'm sure their will be an sbf or way to get around bootloader stoner or later. Thank you for the input
I was thinking of switching to Droid 4 from Sprint OG Epic - my wife has a D2G. I never rooted her phone, partly because it was not necessary for her but partly because of the headache involved. This locked bootloader crap has put an end to thoughts of D4 for me though... will stay with the Epic and wait for a Sprint or VZW decent non-Moto slider.

[Q] Razr Maxx HD Flash to Pageplus help

I hope that this is the right forum to post this. I have looked around to find info on this but I have to admit that I am lost and way in over my head.
What I would like to do is to use the Droid Razr Maxx HD that I have with Pageplus. I just got done with a long session with Remoteflash trying to get my Droid Razr Maxx HD Flashed to pageplus. He tried several different things. NO GO. Said it was an issue of not having the right driver....Bummer. He said that he could do the Razr Maxx but not the HD models. I am seriously bummed...
Is there anyone out there that can do this for me?? Or a tutorial on how I could do it myself? It seems that there is a lot of info here on this phone but after reading a lot of it I realize that I am way out of my element. Can someone point me in the right direction?
thanks,
Alfred

So no one here has been able to flash the Razr hd to pageplus? I see that someone has had some success with the razr m, would these be similar? I know that the razr maxx can be done, but aparently it is different than the HD.
I have been reading a lot of forums and I might be willing to try to do it myself and I am considering purchasing CDMA workshop in order to do it but I want to make sure that I will acctually be able to accomplish it if I spend the money.
I am also concerned about bricking the phone and would like to learn more on how to avoid it.
Thanks,
Alfred

No one? Nothing?
i think the others were possible because they had ICS on them and not Jelly Bean which opens up another can of issues.... but someone is determined and it should be done soon....
subscribed. I really am waiting on this too. It is possible now to flash the razr, razr maxx NON HD versions if you are on Jelly bean by changing the LTE value from 1 to 0. would this help here? Or is it still about the NV only not sticking?

I have successfully performed a full flash of the Razr Maxx HD to pageplus.
I used this guide for the Razr M.

[Q] Droid Razr XT912 BAD GLITCH

Hello,
I am having severe problems after upgrading to JB.
WHAT I HAVE TRIED:
Newest Drivers installed
Droid Razr JB Utility XT912, Fully Extracted, ran the batch. Again from a different download site. Again after wiping cache & data through Rec.
Tried Droid Razr HD Utility 1.2, fail fail fail..., (probably from trying to downgrade)
Battery FULLY charged.
No way to tell if debugging is on...
Yes, I have went through Fastboot on phone.
Tried with W7 Home Prem & W7 Ultimate 32 & 64 bit.
JB installs with NO fails whatsoever from Utility.
Droid startup starts flawlessly, than BAM.
After startup though, no touch & this big software corruption chunk.
Hope you guys can help :crying:

This is the XT925/926 Forum, i think you are wrong here.
Maybe the DroidRazrHD Utility doesnt work because you dont have a Razr HD....
What may be wrong with the Droid Razr JB Utility, may not be answered here, i think...
But you could try to flash some .zip via recovery or an .sbf via RSDLite...

Hello, I searched for Droid Razr & it brought me here. On the back of my phone it says XT912, XT925 is the same except it's GSM not CDMA, which is what mine is. Camera also says 1080p HD, Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, this phone is in the Motorola Droid Razr section already. Says so on the top left. I couldn't find a forum for CDMA XT912 specifically so I suppose they are tied in with Droid Razr HD section. Yes, I know GSM & CDMA is different, all I'm trying to do is flash my phone (Motorola Droid Razr HD XT912) to an operable OS for CDMA. Tried the JB XT912 Utility & it had a bad software corruption glitch. Much help would be appreciated. Again this is a Droid Razr HD XT912 in the Motorola Droid Razr HD forum. Thanks

We are at the razr HD, and there are more differences then the gsm.
hope i helped you a little bit...
Maybe you should just listen to people who are a little bite more experienced then you

exactly. there is nothing hd in the xt912's name, it's just the droid rzr. it's a completely different chipset (omap vs qualcom) thus nothing is compatible. Here is a link to the differences just in case.
FINAL
Find it amusing no one could give me a straight answer & yet they call me inexperienced. Just saying. I read up on it myself. It becomes a Droid HD when it's GSM, Droid Razr XT912 when Verizon, & Razr for Rogers. My phone has both SIM Card Slot & CDMA Technologies, yes I know you must install CDMA OS only, which is what I did. My phone is Verizon. I am guessing no one know's how to fix this so I must set out to fix it myself. Which I was going to do but I thought people on this forum's Q & A would be faster.
People that argue simply do not know the answer.
I can't tell if you're trolling or if you just don't know how to read.
As the others pointed out, it's a completely different phone. Go the correct forum and you may get an answer... if you drop the attitude.

Instead of being combative why not look into what we've been saying.your phone is not a rzr hd and can never be a rzr hd.I already told you the main difference ie chipsets.it has nothing to do with cdma vs gsm.the gsm version of the hd is the xt925 vs the cdma version the xt926. You own a xt912. There is a difference in model numbers there, it's not just our made up idea. I've already provided a link showing you all the hardware differences between your phone and ours and someone else has provided the xda link to the actual rzr forum. I don't think English is your first language so I'll give you a pass but please respect the judgement of others here and stop acting like a prick especially when asking for help.if you truly didn't understand then you could have worded your posts alot differently.xda is a family and we try to help everyone but your attitude has put a sour taste in my mouth.

First Thing:
We know what we are doing here, and i think we also know this Forum very well, so y not believe us.
Second Thing:
If you read it up to yourself, sou shouldn't have any trouble reading stuff up to yourself again, just dont stop learning and read again.
Third thing:
I never actually heard of a phone called
Droid HD

.
But after googling a little bit, it seems that the normal Motorola Razr(XT912) was called Motorola Droid HD in some articles. For example here. Maybe this is the reason for this confusion...
fourth thing:
r u trolling?
fifth thing:
Your glitch could also be a hardware problem, cause it seems to affect only the lower part of the screen... Maybe you should post a better description on the razr forum. Sounds like there may be a problem with the digitizer...
sixth thing:
Please format your text a little, its so hard to read.
seventh thing:
try flashing newest sbf for your provider via rsdlite. That could also help.

Looking for a way to root LG Rebel 4 (L212VL)

I've searched but I can't really find anything. In the developer options there is an oem unlock but other than that I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Root is always worth it. The bright side the phone does function pretty adequately for what it is. Decent battery life. Good Luck.
Out of curiosity, did you ever come up with a method? I'm trying to recover data from a system crash reset and have been told it's a lost cause because this phone is unrootable. Did you find a way? Would you care to share?
I did not. Sorry. It's unfortunate it's not a bad phone, sorry to hear about your issues.

If it is a Verizon phone or a StraightTalk phone, you won't be able to root the device.

I found a TracPhone model of this device, functional, with no SIM card in it, laying in the grass at a local park. Does anyone know anything about rooting or flashing it?

Not worth messing with unless it's unlocked. You'd have to pay monthly for service for a year just to switch carriers.
TracFone is good as a secondary line. I still use them for that on that exact model phone. Right now my G7 is out of power. If it breaks or the service goes down, I still have this Tracfone. TF does honor the unlock policy but they are very strict about it.
I do not know about rooting it. I expected it would never be rootable when I bought it. After digging into some cheap tablets over the last week, I decided I will never run an unrootable device. Those have hidden SIM cards and any attempt to access or disable that SIM causes the user data to be wiped. It's anyone's guess what info they are collecting, how, or who they are sending it to. I suspect this Tracfone does the same thing.
But... if it can be rooted, I'll do it.
Anyone able to get me the Bluetooth app for LG rebel 4? I want to try install it on LG Classic flip.
