Hi just got my nexus 5 like a week ago.
First i was very exited and thrilled the device is amazing.
But ever since i got the device i cant go through a day of 8-10 hours with this 2300 mah battery.
I tried flashing franco kernel also bricked kernel, turned nfc of auto wifi detection google hotword and such, but no use.
Still cant go through 6 hours with screen on for like 30 minutes.
Please help me if you found a good way to save battery on our beloved nexus 5...
Currently not running stock, running dirty unicorn rom which drain like 2% per minute or two of screen on....

Don't know what's up but if you can't do 6 hrs with 30 min sot then you have a real problem somewhere. The only thing I turn off is NFC and hotword. Running Chaos kernel, stock rom. I had 16 hrs with 4hr 30 min sot the other day.
Dl better battery stats and figure out what's using your battery.
Could be a borked phone too. It happens.
Go back to the factory image and run that for a few days to see if your have a similar problem. You should be getting much better battery life. Also, use bbs to see where the battery is being used.

Switch to 2G, turn off auto wifi scanning, low your brightness (not auto), turn off sound and vibration, log out google+ and turn off all notifications of every app, use franco kernel with stock rom, turn off google now, turn off bluetooth and nfc, download greenify and greenify all unneccesary apps. Maybe this helps. Good luck bro

All of that will help but he shouldn't have to ANY of this to get better results than he's getting. Severely crippling your phone is not the answer. There's something else going on to get the results he's been getting.
Weird i get atleast 13 Hours with atleast 2 hours screen time
mostly on cellular and streaming pandora (LTE)
Im 100% stock btw location settings set to battery saver
Try Purity ROM and Franco Kernel. Also Better Battery Stats to see what's eating it. I get 1-2% loss in 8 hrs at night (wifi off, airplane mode), and up to 5 days if not using it much (always on). At least 24 hours under my normal use (even playing CandyCrush for an hour or two, checking mail, and tweaking apps). I get zero bars at home so I switch to airplane mode anytime I'm home. Turn off all syncing (I do have Calendar sync on), I manually sync contacts every week or two. I receive 30-40 emails per day (I use K9). Don't listen to music (since I'm at a PC most of the time and use it). I typically have wifi on at work and home, otherwise off not scanning. I have my Nexus 7 set up the same way, the Nexus 5 gets better life. I also don't use phone data much, I only make calls, and use it on wifi (I do have a Paygo plan at 10 cents/mb in case I need it)... PTEL $100/yr plan; been on it 2 months and still have $90 left (and was discounted to $78 to start with!) Very happy with battery on N5!

Tried stock with chaos kernel and with franco definitely better on franco but still terrible battery life.
Download battery doctor and got about extra 3 hours per day.
So far, awesome here. 67%, playing games like Asphalt, Hungry Shark, and listening to music all day. Only 2pm now. Unplugged at 7:15am.

Ain't showing anything unusual just screen processor and os.
To the OP: I'm getting great battery life from my Nex 5 on stock 4.4.2 and stock kernel - better, in fact, than my Galaxy S4. I would recommend always returning to a completely clean stock build and adjusting in small increments from there; this at least might help you to isolate the problem (or problems).
I'm on 3G most of the time, wifi at home; NFC, GPS and location turned off.
For Facebook I use the Lifehacker tip of deleting the appalling Facebook app and just running a bookmark to the mobile FB website in Chrome. So much better.
One thing that has massively improved my battery life is Lux Auto Brightness - paid version. This thing, when set up correctly, has improved by battery life by at least a third.
Good hunting. I sincerely hope your phone isn't borked.

So i got the charge a couple of weeks ago. I had the thunderbolt before it but then i switched it out for the charge just because the thunderbolt was kinda heavy. Now i have terrible battery life. I am on stock rooted EE4 and have tried everything short of throwing the phone at the wall. I have 2-3 bars of 4g signal usually (metro detroit). I have tried AC Altered beast, tried gummycharged, tested my own rom, used kangfucius, PB&J Time, and VOODOO, all to no avail. I leave at 7 am and come back home at 3 pm and the battery will be down to its last 5 percent, running on fumes. I even turn off mobile data or i put it on airplane mode and that doesnt even seem to help. MY THUNDERBOLT GOT A WHOLE DAY EASILY WITH IMOSEYONS KERNEL ON 4G but the charge with supposedly better battery life is worse?!?!?! Any advice?
Let it go through a few Charge cycles (heh heh). I went about 12+ hours or so with fairly heavy usage yesterday. Always on: 4G, Bluetooth, GPS. Running: EE4 debloated, PBJT kernel, Voodoo enabled, automatic brightness, 2min screen timeout, 2 GMails, facebook, 2 emails, NoLED, etc. I even tested the mobile hotspot to dl a few big things (free PSN goodies FTW).
That should give you a good idea what's using up my battery. YMMV.
Mine is new and I think it also needs a few charge cycles, getting better but my thunderbolt was terrible for a month before I pushed 10hrs consecutively

That was my impression as well.
I think the "great" battery life is only on Samsung's slow stock ROM. I feel totally duped that I bought this phone for great battery life when its no better than the TB.

He's had the phone for several weeks! My guess is that he's been through many a charge cycle!
I have had my stock ee4 RUNNING with wifi, gps, and interminentant 4g for twelve or thirteen hrs now and just got my battery warning. I have been reading forums all morning, and made several phone calls. The battery seems very good. I think you should check your bat. use its probably mostly screen use. I think that is everyones highest usage

You assume he's let the phone die, turned off the phone, let it power all the way to full and then repeated this 2 - 3 times.
which is an asinine assumption seeing as most people don't let their phone die before charging and don't turn it off while charging - my guess the number of full cycles its been through is 0.
Given that he's tried 3 ROMs and 3 kernels, that gives 9 different possibilities. Using each for 2 days, which isn't really enough time to fully judge battery life, that gets us to 18 days, nearly 3 weeks. I'd say you have to have your phone with a ROM/Kernel combo for 3 days before you can get a sense of normal usage/battery life as the first two days, you'll still be setting stuff up the way you want and tinkering with it. The 3rd/4th/5th days is when you get a true sense of battery usage as by then, you should have most stuff setup the way you want it and your normal usage should be more consistent.
I haven't run out of battery yet but the longest I have kept it off the charger is 15 hours. I leave the radio on and get 4g mostly, stock EE4. I use my charge to listen to music and make a few calls/texts during the day. Screen seems to be the biggest drainer, nothing else comes close.
Not seeing bad battery life on my charge.... Running gummy 1.5 + pbj time kernel + voodoo lag fix + voodoo system fix... heavy use im getting about 18 hours on one charge

Battery sucks on both the Thunderbolt and the Charge. I'd forgotten how bad the Thunderbolt was until I switched back from the extended battery to the stock.
Any comparison of battery life must include a thorough discussion of how you use the phone. What apps and services are running in the background and ideally some screen cap of the battery use screen. Without that kind of reference your definition of light, moderate, or heavy use is meaningless.
I think both phones have similar performance, it's the price we pay for that 4G lightning bolt.

yep every day iv'e charged it so it's gone through at least 20 cycles.

oh and i have a few apps running in the background like google voice and fb but thats about it. I dont have skype or any of that just fb and google voice. the rest of my apps are mainly games and stuff like pulse that doesnt run in the background. my display is on about 20-25 percent. some days i put it on airplane mode sometimes on mobile data off but even then, the battery is either close to dead or has about 30% left. Keep in mind thats only 7 hours no use at all and that only leaves me with about 2 or 3 hours of actually usage. and the only thing that i do then is browse the web. maybe a 1 minute voice call but that is it.
try going into your settings..accounts and sync....and turning off the auto sync option and then turn off all the accounts you have syncing..I see no reason why google has to constantly sync my contacts when there not changed and use my battery up..you can always do a manual sync and turning the auto sync off hasnt affected my FB updating.
Also on any kind of social updating widget or new ticker you can adjust how often it updates itself too. Again unless your just dying to have it updated all the time then expect the battery to drain faster when it updates. Also when I am not using my phone I turn the data, GPS, and wifi all off. I have been happy with my battery performance and Im running just like urs with rooted PB & J kernel but EE4 stock..I have lagfix enabled though

Yeah, I never get the turn off your data and everything that makes a smart phone smart approach, but to each his own. Just depends on your priorities.
As a 100% exclusive google voice user (for calls, texts, voicemail) I have to leave data on, or I don't get my SMS and voicemails. I don't want to have to manually check for emails either.
Things like twitter, facebook, etc are all optional for me, so I make them either manual or long intervals on the checks for new posts.
Words With Friends is an absolute battery whore. It defaults (at least it used to) looking for updates to your games EVERY FIVE MINUTES...that's insane, and all you have to do is watch the darn thing try to update games to see how much radio it's wasting, takes forever. Turn it off. LOL
I get all my texts and what not with the data turned off....and when I go to use the phone for anything I turn it back on and use it for whatever...I dont need the instant gratification of getting the email the second it is sent. I guess some people need that feature. Once the syncing is not running all the time from your various apps, then leaving the data on shouldnt drain much battery at all. I am still quite a newbie at this stuff so if I say something stupid please excuse me

Oh, no, nothing stupid at all, that's why I said "to each his own" and "just depends on your priorities." We all use our phones differently. Do what works best for you.
IF your texts are via Verizon SMS, that stuff comes in over the voice channel, not data, so it's not impacted by turning off data. Google voice comes in over the data connection, so no data means no texts! If you're in a wifi area, you could turn off mobile data and you'd still get GV stuff, but no need to since wifi will take precedence over the mobile (cellular) data anyways.

No, voodoo doesn't save battery in itself, but some of the other changes in that kernel increase battery life.
i still think you need to swap that phone out. You're working too hard to get decent battery life, and shouldn't have to.

Yes, setcpu and some UC, phone goes to min processor on screen off
Juice defender set to standard
data set to auto
auto sync gmail, gps only on demand
note today was a very, very light day of use. Yesterday I used it moderately, checking emails, maybe a call or two and several hours of music and was at 50% after about 14 hours.

I have tried virtually every ROM and kernel combination for the G2X and for my phone and usage pattern I have had the best luck when I returned back to CM7, currently RC1 without OC/UV kernels, without SetCPU/PimpMyCPU, and without Juice Defender, or any similar such programs. My gains appear to be achieved by better efficiency with the screen off. The only modification that can be responsible other than CM7 itself is that I have the phone 2G only unless I need 4g at which times I turn it on manually. I think this is the actual cause of most of my better battery life.
Recently I went 32 hours of light usage (maybe an estimated 3 hours of phone calls and 2 hours of actually performing some task in Android) and was at about 35% battery life (although I believe battery percent is totally meaningless on this or any GB Rom for the G2X). I can easily make it sun-up to sundown with moderate to heavy usage unless it involves lengthy playing 3d video games or similar cpu/video intensive tasks.
When I first had the phone (completely stock) the battery would run out before 8 hours even if I didn't use it at all. I think I was getting great battery life with the AOSP ROM (Faux) and Eaglesblood ROM without modification. I am came back to CM7 rather than those others for purely aesthetic reasons.
My conclusions are merely based upon extensive trial and error and subjective impressions. I am not an expert at anything, except perhaps backgammon, lol
2g only is not a fix in my opinion. I purchased a 4g phone for a reason. The software and drivers are still an issue. I get a solid day (12 - 16 hours) out of a single full charge with 3 email acounts checking every 30 min. Surfing the web and a little game play for fun. The screen is the biggest draw on the battery. My battery monitor shows a direct corolation to battery draw and the screen on.

I understand your point, but how often are you actually using 4g. It is not necessary for syncing email or other background tasks, in fact on my phone Pandora runs the same on 2g as 4g. And when you do need the performance of 4g it is 2 clicks away, one swipe to pull down the notifications and another to toggle from 2g to 4g. It connects in about 10 seconds, for me anyway a shorter period of time than it takes me to figure out what I'm doing. 4g appears to be the biggest battery draw with screen off. If you use JuiceDefender you can program it to turn on 4g whenever particular programs are launched.
You are right about the screen it is certainly the biggest draw with screen on. I run a bike computer with gps program. I run it with screen at full bright constantly on, gps running, plus using whatever small amount of use the program uses to operate. At this rate the battery runs out before 4 hours are up.
Oddly making phone calls appears not to drain the phone at all compared to other activities. I've taken my phone of the charger and made a 1.5 hour phone call and hang up and the phone is still at 99%.
23 hours and counting on this charge...

I have no doubt, there is nothing inherently wrong with the stock rom as long as you root it and get rid of the bloatware. Getting bad battery life is more a matter of something being wrong, instead of a particular rom being right.
I don't really understand the battery info built into Android, my uptime right now is just over 16 hours and I am at 25%. Which is good as anyone can expect with normal usage. But what is confusing is the usage breakdown, it lists most items at exactly 19%, Cell Standby, Wi-Fi, Dialer, Android System, and Phone idle. Voice calls is the only other item at 6%.
What the heck is Dialer doing with 19% of my battery!?!?
16 hours so far with 20% left.
8 hours of that was while I was sleeping.
While there was some screen-off time for the other 8 hours, the tasks I was doing included redownloading ALL of my apps manually, applying themes, configuring widgets, browsing xda, email, light texting, and a couple short calls.
I am running CM7 with stock kernal. I have like 40 widgets running (probably an exaggeration). I'm running Juice Defender set to disable data/wifi when screen turns off, and enable it for 2min every 15 min. I also have setcpu running. I increased the min to 456 instead of the default 216 because it seems to keep me from experiencing the black screen of death when I leave it higher. My screen-off profile is 456/456, and my in-call profile is 608/608.
Overall, considering that I keep all syncs set to auto so I get instant notifications of gmail and sms, and it takes all of about 3 seconds to turn the data/wifi back on when I turn the screen on, and I don't have to constantly go back and forth messing with 2g/3g. I am extremely pleased with this phone now.
Been unplugged since I woke up this morning...13H 57M and have 40% left.
That's sending many texts, tweets, and using the GPS app for my round of golf today.
currently at 2 days (actually 1d, 23h, 44m) and I still have 30% left. I would say light to moderate use.
Currently running cm7 on nightly 65 with the stock kernal. No setcpu/pimpmycpu or any juice defenders.
I recently got a new lg g2x. Seems like an alright device (it's not the best out there, but it was free so it'll do). The only thing I can't stand it even with pretty low usage i'm getting around 12 hours of battery life max. With the same type of usage from the sensation I had before I would be getting around 24 hours or more.
Any one got any ideas of what to do? I'm currently on eaglesblood, I was on CM7 latest nightly before, and before that was stock. All battery life sucked though.
Any help would be appreciated. I did order a spare battery on ebay, that i'm hoping might do some good.

What happened to your Sensation?
Have you tried calibrating after flashing a new ROM? Personally, fitsnugly's CM7 Kang plus Faux's or Morfic's Trinity kernel has always given me really good battery life. Around 24 hours with average useage.
I'm returning it via American Express premium returns. By calibrate you mean?

Use the battery calibration app in the market after flashing new roms. If you can't figure out how to make your battery last longer, just buy an extended battery for like 12 dollars off ebay. Everybody has had good luck with them. There's a thread over it in the accessories portion of the g2x forum.

Alright, I already ordered a spare battery, but I'm not sure what else it could be. I'll post back after I get the battery and try calibrating it.
Just in case you may have overlooked this....turn your wifi off when not using it. Wifi burns goood.
My wifi is always off, although a few times when trying to turn it on when just flashing CM7 it resulted with not being able to turn it on due to some "error." A recent example of my battery drain is: Cell Standby 43%, Phone Idle 32%, Display 16%, Android System 11%.
Calibrating would be my advice. I get a good 24 hours of usage with CM7 with normal usage. I get 30+ with light usage, and this is with wifi set to never sleep.
Everyone that gets 16+ hours, do you have Data running all the time?
Data + Light Use = 8hr MAX
Juice Defender "Data Off" + Light Use = 14hrs MAX
Juice Defender "Data Off" + Medium USE = 8hrs
Only did a couple texting and my battery is at 35% already, and its only been 6 hours...
Battery Calibrate = Flash new rom > 100% > Calibrate > use and recharge for 3 days...

Did you check what is using battery? And if your phone is actually "sleeping" in battery info?
I'm running [ROM] [PORT] G2X SINGH UI v1.12.30 (MIUI + MODS)
Cell Standby 26%
Phone Idle 23%
Andriod System 17%
Telephony System 15%
FOTA Kill 7% << Don't know what that is
Launcher 6%
Voice Calls 5%
10017 4% << Don't know what that is
Everything else is 1%
How can I find out if my Phone "Actually Sleeping"?
If it's actually sleeping, then your phone would not have any activity under "awake" while the screen is off. Also currently I'm on 30 hours battery with 33% left.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
It show that it's was awake the whole time... the past 7 hours...
When I scroll down it show these that is on the whole time:
Launcher
Telephony Service on and off
Messaging
Facebook
Gmail
Email
Weird though, I have Juice Defender on Extreme.. so there isn't any data running until I enable it.
Well to find out if it's been awake the whole time you have to go in one more menu deeper. You can do that by pressing the graph in the battery stats.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
i recently installed stock froyo (just rooted) and i actually get amazing battery life...not even running juice defender or anything and ive been using my phone quite frequently. data on and off throughout the day, near constant texting, approx 1hr worth of talk time and other miscellaneous activities and i still have 60% left of my battery...its been on for about 16hrs now

I'm looking in the graph, Awake is on the whole time. Then when I scroll down, these are the program is always on:
Launcher, Telephony Service, Messaging, Facebook, Gmail, Email, Maps
Well I just installed Advance Task Killer again.. even though alot of people said it doesn't work. I'm going to test that for the rest of the day.

I'm currently exploring which programs are preventing the phone to stay "asleep."
I freeze lots of programs I don't use, the only ones I see constantly active now are Google maps, Facebook, and the launcher (which I hope isn't one of the issues).
I froze the first 2 and I'll be doing tests today to see exactly what it is.
Do you guys use the default MIUI launcher?
Yeah I'm using the default MIUI launcher..
I also freezed MAP and FACEBOOK... see how that goes for the rest of the day.
Phone was off for about an hour straight, think I'm getting better "sleep" periods. Launcher activity is constantly blue.
I use the modified launcher with the extended settings. Only widget on it is fancy widget pro.
Going to see how well the phone fairs for the rest of the day.
EDIT:
Been doing research, apparently telocation causes a lot of battery drain, and alarm manager (although mine is almost always asleep).
I recently uninstalled fancy widget in hopes that launcher won't keep itself awake, and froze the telocation and no freeze or force close on anything.
I had a major battery issue with my last install of CM7 on a new G2X, what fixed it for me was enabling "use wireless networks" in location and security settings. I noticed something was odd when I ran speedtest and every time it would try to connect to servers in NY or NJ(I live in NC).....I'm not exactly sure what was going on, but enabling it fixed my battery life.
I recently bought a nexus 5. I was really happy till i noticed that the battery drains super fast. It only lasts 8 to 9 hours i even flashed francos kernel whit cataclyst rom still no improvement. I boughted new battery and replaced it. I had like 12 hours first time i charged now its 8/9 hours again. What can i do ?
first, you need to provide screenshots of your battery AND a better battery stats before we can help you

battery life is not dependent on what you flash. there is no such thing as a magic pill to flash to automatically give you good battery life. battery life is dependent on how you personally use your phone, how you personally set up your phone, what apps you chose to install, and very much depending on the quality of your phone/data connection.
...you bought and manually installed a new battery on your recently bought N5 before finding out what apps were causing the drain? Yikes. But yeah try better battery stats or wakelock detector to see what apps are draining it.
Mine's been off the charger for 29 hours so far and I still have 37% left. Depends how you use it. A good signal helps.

your battery life seems pretty average, not bad and not great. youll get about 3.5 hours screen on time total. sure, you can play with your settings/set up some to try to get it a little better. but, depending on your data/phone connection(quality of), you might not get much better(or you can get it much better).
You can also try going into your location settings and ticking the "Battery saving" mode.
I can confirm that data/phone connection quality has a huge impact.
At work my office is on the second of five floors with its windows faced to a very narrow court. So there is almost no connection and often the phone is switching between 2G, 3G and 4G all the time. If additionally the screen is on very often (due to messages, mails, etc.) the battery usually doesn't last longer than 5 to 6 hours.
A dutch guy . So am I.

K...just for one day do the following. ....start at 100 percent too.
Turn off location services. Turn off Google now. In the Google settings app, go into android device manager and uncheck both items. Turn off sync. Uninstall or freeze Facebook app and fitness app your screen shot listed. Freeze Google plus as well, if you're rooted. If not....sign out of it, or turn its sync off at least. Use browser for Facebook and google plus for the day.
Don't play ANY games.
Also, see how your signal strength is. If you are losing signal completely ....that will destroy your battery.
Do these things and see how your battery is. If its much better, then you can try turning things back on....one thing per day. And when your battery gets bad again....you know its the last thing you turned on.
See how it goes.

some of you guys complain way to much, be glad you have a nexus 5.
Also try what the above user said, turn all social networking and weather/fitness/gps apps off as well as un-used radios ie: bluethooth, wifi, ect :good:
oh & it helps to have a nice kernel -- flash ElementalX / lower screen brightness as well. I dont get the BEST battery life but it last through most of the day for me. cheers :highfive:

Greetings xdadevelopers,
I own my OnePlus 6 for about 3 weeks now,and I feel like I'm getting bad battery life. I got a friend who has the exact same model (Silk White, 128 GB) and he gets far better SOT (battery life). I will attach two screenshots showing my battery life down to 75%.
So far I had a SOT of 1 hour and lost ~25% battery which would result in a total of just 4 hours of SOT. I hear a lot of people talking about their great battery life with their OnePlus 6 and some even saying that they get 5 hours of SOT at minimum even with heavy use.
Here's what I tried doing so far...
- Deactivate stuff when not needed, e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS etc.
- Clear cache partition in storage settings
- Clear cache partition in recovery mode
- Use dark theme and dark wallpaper
I am currently running OxygenOS 5.1.11 and I really hope that I don't need to return my OnePlus 6 anytime soon because I don't have a spare phone to use. Anyone have some suggestions?
Thanks for any help!

You're aware that when people post crazy SOT, ie 5-6 hours, they're getting it while using WiFi? If you are using 4g/lte, the battery life will not be as good.
if you dont get the same SoT then its a user related so unless you have the same apps installed and the same settings etc then its impossbile to get the same amount of SoT.
Also when you check your phone every minute then it will drain like crazy then when you just turn it on and use it for a half hour straight. Also things like face unlock etc can use that battery and also disable the sync options.
You have a weak cell signal. That is the most likely culprit.

I never use WiFi, I'm on T-Mobile and have unlimited data and have never been throttled so no point in using WiFi and I get 9-11 hours of SOT and average about .7% idle drain and 2% overnight (7 hours). So you can get very good SOT and idle drain if you don't use crappy apps and don't have EVERYTHING turned on and maxed out all the time.
I can do 2 hours of YouTube, hour or 2 of calls, 30+ emails whatsapp and text all day and still go home with 60% battery life or better. Also about an hour maybe 2 of web surfing as well.
Try using greenify to kill any apps running in the background. But yeah, a crappy cell signal will drain battery pretty bad. Connect to WiFi when applicable.

9-11 hours of screen on time? I'm going to have to call BS on that.
I get most off the time 7-8 hours with wifi. And 4-5Hours with mobile data. Thats a huge difference

You can call it BS all you want but I've posted screen shots a couple months ago and I will have 3 or 4 hours of SOT using it for work all day for various things plus YouTube and web surfing and go home with 60-70% battery. The screenshot below if from last night actually after 24hours off charge. I usually get about 30 emails a day (work hours) 50+ texts and whatsapp with voice and pics, web surfing YouTube, Connected Gear S3 smartwatch, and about an hour or so of phone calls.

I personally don't take a charger with me to work. Plus with Accubattery every time you plug it ion it resets the stats unlike the built in battery monitor in the phones settings.
Some people are just bitter about people knowing how to set up phone for good battery. Or they just use some flaky apps that go rogue on them. There is no reason to lie about what you get battery stats. People ask about battery and people show how their phones are good or bad. Unless you have the same apps and same set up and use the phone the same, you'll never get the same battery performance.

Mostly on wifi thus far, i should have about the same with 4g tho from what I noticed, I live near city center and have the antenna about 50 meters from my house, at work I have really ****ty connection so there it will drop massively, about 15% Drop in 9 hours with 30-40 minutes screen. If I use it in background it will obviously use more (like spotify/podcast)

Nice. I'm getting around 7hours but it seems I use my phone alot heavier than you. The app you use the most is a web browser. I play abit of pubg which drains the battery alot while in game.

Not bitter, just very skeptical. Anyone i've seen stating they get 9-11 hours of screen on time never posts a chart screenshot. I can usually get 5-7 on wifi. if you can get 9-11 then more power to you, but to say that its normal, is unrealistic. even if you go to the screen on time thread in the review section of the oneplus6 forum here on xda, you'll notice that an overwhelming majority of users are getting anywhere from 5-7.

Never once did I say it was normal. I'm just saying that you can get really good battery life. No one will ever get the same usage as another based on apps installed, how they have their phone sync and what they have running (WiFi, Bluetooth on or off, poor cell signal and location on high accuracy or battery saving) it all depends but I don't cripple my phone. I just turn off location permissions in all apps but Browser, Google, Maps, Weather and turn off Background data for apps that have no need to do that and leave my email and messaging apps, among a few others, alone. But to tell me BS (basically calling me a liar) when I can get that with pretty heavy use and my phone isn't crippled isn't cool.
And those people getting 5-7 hours of SOT are likely leaving their WiFi and Bluetooth on all the time no matter if they are connected or now, have everything syncing all the time and have Location on High Accuracy. Now granted I just bought a Gear S3 Frontier a week ago and I'm seeing about 5-10% more drain then before I bought the watch which is expected.
