[Q] Celkon A119Q - MT6589 CWM:E: Error Cant open Cache/Recovery Log - Possible Brick? - General Questions and Answers

Hello Developers
Yesterday, i tried to do a CWM back up of my ROM and it stopped in the middle with below errors
E:Can't open/cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
[Read Only File System
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I Know there are many threads with this question, however mine is litte different; How?
1. I am able to mount my SD CARDs to PC
2. ADB works fine
3. Format Cache - Works fine
4. Wipe / Factory Data Reset - Works fine
5. Format System Works Fine
6. Wipe Dalvik Cache - Exits without any error
When the system reboots, I get a message "ENCRYPTION UNSUCCESSFUL" Reset phone, when clicked on Reset, phone reboots into Recovery.
ADB works fine, but i am not able to use Flash_image - Error Message file not found [it was placed in root of the memory card]
Tried to flash recovery through SP flash tools, i get an error Message - SDA SDMMC write failed
MTK Root tool does not recognize phone.
Please let me know if this is a permanent brick or is there any work around to resolve this.
My phone is only 6 months old, but cannot claim warranty because of CWM and Boot logo changed

CWM crashed and phone wont start up correctly! please help!

I've looked all over the internet for a solution but they are either only part of my problem or do something that I don't understand with the SDK kit.
So I started up my rooted Droid incredible phone today and it just freezes at the HTC incredible flash screen. I have to pull out the battery to restart it. I can get into CWM recovery but it says
E:can't mount /cache/recover/command
E:can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:can't mount /cache/recover/log
E:can't mount /cache/recover/last_log
E:can't open /cache/recover/last_log
It wont even read anything from the SD card. So I am unable to mount the SD card or access it by usb through the phone.
I tried a factory reset and nothing happened. CWM wont even run a recovery or factory reset.
I am at a total lose.
Please help me fix this!

[Q] HTC Incredible S bricked? (or almost bricked)

so I turned s-off using the revolutionary tool and everything worked fine, installed clockwork mod and booted back into my phone. Installed rom manager and made a backup which updated clockworkmod to 5.0.2.0. after that everything worked fine I installed CM7 but when i was installing some apps the phone crashed and got stuck in a reboot loop.
I booted back to recovery but when I enter it is giving the following errors:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
trying to format or flash an image gives me error formatting cache/data
tried to re-flash CWM through adb just hangs up writing recovery
tried RUU with the exe from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033922 also hangs
tried installing CWM with AndroidFlasher doesn't work (also hangs)
i have read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039504 which seems the same issue as mine. someone mentioned using the following shell command:
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p27
reboot recovery
the thread is on G2 and DZ, would that work with the incredible s?
is there anything else i can try?

[Q] E:Cant mount cache

I am Using PhilZ CWM 6.49.2. I cant even Flash A Custom ROM Because of this problem it would just show me these error messages
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
and say "Installation Aborted" and restart phone.
When i wipe data/factory reset, format cache it would just show me these errors.
I have also tried Flashing back to the Stock ROM via odin and repeated all of the procedures: 1.Framaroot(To ROOT) 2:CWM(Flash via odin)
Still no success it just keeps giving me these stupid errors when i try flashing a custom ROM,SO BASICALLY I CANT FLASH A CUSTOM ROM
Please Find a FIX.
THANKS.:good:

just exactly the same problem here brother...
solution
all you need to do apparently is to go to samMobile, find your device, your country, download the rom, extract it,and flash it with odin.i think it need it to be the same rom as the one installed but not sure about it.it worked perfectly for me,it fixed my recovery back to its stock one without the errors.message me if you still have a problem.
Use TWRP Recovery,And as previously someone said,Try to download Stock Rom file again from Sammobile,After that may h it'll work!

[Completed] How to protect a portion of internal memory during OS install?

So, I have a Sprint HTC One (M7) that I tried to root following this guide:
http://www.xda-developers.com/how-to...-developer-tv/
Custom Recovery was flashed successfully (I tried both TWRP 2.5 and CWM 6.0.4.6), and I immediately got the following errors:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last _log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
I can't access /cache, in short. So, I tried to find my SD card, but my phone doesn't have a slot for one, and I couldn't figure out how to write to the virtual one inside the phone, so I selected "Install zip" option in CWM and passed SuperSU-v2.46.zip through sideload, and it failed when it couldn't access cache. I was then rather foolish, and tried to just flash a ROM from Android Revolution HD, found on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2265618 (I used this particular ROM:Android_Revolution_HD-One_92.0_4a9d05.zip).
Again, I passed it using sideload because I don't have an SD card. The install formatted my partitions, then at 30% (when it began to copy files), it failed. Thus, I was left with an empty phone, but an unlocked bootloader. I tried a few more things, to no avail.
I think if I could figure out how to put something in the virtual SD inside, or somehow protect the install files from being overwritten during the install, that might get me there, since I'm guessing that it's formatting over the location of the installer/image. Also, I found that if I use the "Wipe /cache" from CWM, I don't get those access cache errors, but then I can't reboot into the recovery without flashing it again, so I'm guessing that it's saving it in the /cache partition. I use the command "fastboot flash recovery CWM_image.img" to put my recovery in there, which may be a part of the problem.
Anyway, any ideas or help would be nice. I know enough to be dangerous, but clearly not enough to get myself out of this mess. Any help would be appreciated, and at this point, it would just be nice to have any OS on my phone. All HTC recovery software fails because they require a locked bootloader, but my computer won't detect a phone with no OS and a locked bootloader...
Duplicate.

Nexus 5 cache and system flashing problem

Hello people of XDA developers,
One fine day, my nexus 5 started hanging up while booting. After the google Logo, the Marshmallow animation would show up and then it would hang and power off. I have no problem in doing a factory reset/wipe of my phone. But the only thing i want to save is my contacts. I have tried erasing and re-flashing system, cache, boot and boot-loader. Using ADB, flashing the cache always fails........ However, i have not touched userdata as i think it would affect the contacts too. I have even tried using different custom recoveries such as CWM, TWRP and even Philz Touch to use adb to pull my SD card files to my PC. Even flashing the system is not working now.... (atleast that's what my results were) .
Philz touch error messages....
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
Driven to the point of desperation now........ Thanx a lot in advance... BTW, i'm a complete noob, so plz bear with me and my questions
