did you notice the screenshot on the rear of the smartwatch 2 casing showing a widget on the home menu of the whatch? Interesting... but its not implemented in the firmware.
Today i looked through the developer pages of sony. And i found this:

There is already a paid app that brings widgets to the SW2 which is pretty useable from what I've read. It would be awesome if Sony made that option available by default though!

yeah remote widget works. But thats no widget on the homescreen. What i mean are widgets on the homescreen of the sw2. So you dont have to start them, u use the directly on the homescreen.

I guess this feature will follow in a firmware update. Just like the clockfaces with date did.
Widget was when this watch was first time show to public.
Later when watch finally relased Sony decided to get rid of that and few more functions.
Some clock faces missing, shake to backlight and few more.

hmm it seems like the software is beyond the hardware development... the ambient light sensor is another example... the hardware is there but the software functionality was just added.
Are there any official press releases with these announced but not shipped features?
For me it almost seems like sony pushed the hardware to be released as early as possible cause of competitors like galaxy gear. So the software we got is a really early "pushed to work" product. Essential features like the auto backlight or the mark all read function were not in on release. For me the shake to backlight feature is also such an essential one...

two days ago google rolled out their play books store in Germany. That's nice since I waited for since it was released.
Problem is I have checked if the app is installed (it is) but I have no icon in the app drawer. I can make shortcuts to specific books an the home screen but not to the app itself. The only way to open the app is via play store, select a book I bought, tap read and hit back to see the startscreen of the app. When I close the app via home I can select it from recent apps.
Have I done something wrong? I'm using Fallout 2.0 and the app is not deactivated.

The problem is that for your country, the app is hidden (and Google Videos or whatever is the name).
When people reported this, I fixed the xml files responsible for that. The problem is that they are only used once when on a clean install. So people just upgrading Fallout over and over will never see those icons.
So bottom line: the only way you will have those icons on your Rosie app drawer, is a Fallout clean install.
Alternatively, any other launcher shows you the app. The hidding is only done at Rosie level.

That's interesting. Since I don't use an alternative launcher I haven't seen that. And right now Fallout works so perfect that there was no need to make a clean install. I never though it could be related to that.
This will be an easy job and I will report if it works when I'm ready.

Solves the problem... Did a clean install few days ago, icons are there.
I just finished another app for my "Simple ... Widget" family: A simple but customizable dialer widget which lets you direct dial, view the call log and your contacts from your homescreen.
The app requires at least Android 3.0 as it uses scrollable lists for the call log & the contacts tab.
As usual, the app is free & without ads and available in the Play Store now.
Enjoy and please report any issue you have

The app crashs if I want to do interactions like viewing call log or contacts... But it seems to be a great widget and I hope for further development and updates!

I like the idea of the widget. Its not the first of its kind though !
I would like you to make the option to change the size of dialer numbers digit.
Also option to change the background colour/ image. sometimes, it can conflict with some bright colored wallpapers.

i know. i saw a very similiar one in the market, but it hadnt scrollable lists and the free version was incompatible with my devices - so i made my own

test size is now adjustable in new version, background color is also changable in the widget configuration activity

i think it should be fixed in version 1.2 (also attached to first post) which should be available very soon in the play store but if it still crashes then, please send me the log

Issue with Voicemail and Unknown numbers

your widget is fantastic, I actually use it with Fallout Evolution V5.0.0 ROM on a HTC Desire S. However, I have problems with the display of Voicemail ("Messagerie Vocale" in french) and Unknown ("Inconnu" in french) numbers, instead I have the following message "Chargement en cours..." which corresponds at "Loading..." I think.
Would be a problem with other language than English because of Unknown and Voicemail are hardcoded?

neither the string "voicemail" nor "unknown" appears in the app. if the number is not in your phone contacts, it should just display the number

Thanks for your answer, please find an attached screenshot to see what I described before : in the middle of the history you can see "Chargement en cours..." ; it's always the same message when the number is unknown
After 2 weeks of usage: top app! Keep on the good work!

Small bug is that if you press the option (three vertical dots) button from the lockscreen you can't change the settings. You have to remove the widget and then put it back on.

Hi, i'd like to introduce my launcher, which is also my first app on Google Play.
The Idea behind it is very simple: You have quick access to self defined start page apps and if you want to open an other app you can simply scroll to the right. Personally I don't need any widgets (and it's much work for me to implement them ) so I didn't implement them.
Currently you can choose between some uniform color schemes, which include all Holo colors, and app-icon-dependant colors. Also, you can select one out of 7 simple transitions. Finally there's the clock and the current date on the top left under the page indicators.
It is in very early beta phase so there can be some issues here and there. If so, please report them.
In addition to that, there are no tranlations besides english at the moment, but I hope there's some time to change that.
Download on Play Store: search for "ReHoloEd Launcher" (sorry but I'm not able to give a link right now due to XDA rules [<10 posts])

What do you mean by that? something like different card background tones? sorry, I don't really know much about iphone style.

So, finally I added these app drawer icon styles:
- Default (with card as background)
- No background
- Icon only
and I think I got rid of this button very quick, next version 1.0.4 is up in some... minutes... hours... depending on how fast Google Play works

I decided to start to try implementing some sort of folders as well as a hiding-apps-function tomorrow... I hope that I can fix these laggyness-problems soon.

I've swapped my keyboard over to SwiftKey and noticed that even if I select black for my navigation bar it turns to white when I have the keyboard open. The bar turns black in all other areas, just not in the keyboard. Does it have something to do with the extra icon for keyboard selection? Anyone have any idea on how to turn it black when the keyboard is open?

How do I set it up to work like that. I set it to black but then it is black on the home screen too. Please help, thanks.
First I set TouchWiz on the disabled list, but then the navbar stayed black. After I deleted TouchWiz from this list, it works well. TouchWiz is transparent and the rest has a black navbar.

I want to automate the retract camera activity via tasker what activity do I call?
One limited way would be using camera API and swapping camera. Other than that I don't know whether there's a public API to directly control flip camera. I've never seen any kind of proof-of-concept in that regard.
