Hey
Been considering update to kitkat. Looked at some videos, it looks quite different to 4.4.2 on the Nexus 5.??
Moto G, appears to have a launcher no different from 4.3, It still shows apps & widgets in the App drawer not just all together,
Can anyone shed any light on this, the main differences (on the surface) of kitkat seem to have been omitted?

well this sucks. Guess I'll be rooting afterall. Had 4.4.2 a la Nexus 5 running on my Galaxy S2. It's a far better interface than the current launcher...
You can d/load the GEL launcher from the apps section on the moto g forum, had it running on mine for a while. I decided to wait until KK was out before committing. No root needed.

I get the 'problem parsing' error message. Tried resetting phone as suggested but it makes no difference :/ any advice? I did flash the retail version of the ROM too. but I don't think this is part of the problem

That problem is fixed in the kitkat update afaik, but if you dont want to wait, try uploading the apk to google drive and install it from there

It works great on Huawei P6, but i have the same problem as with original versions. I have no option to set the resolution, so i can only use 8MP in 4:3 on my Backcamera. For Frontcamera i can set the picture size.
could you think to do a flashable zip? we can install apk without problem, but if a user change rom often, it's a bit annoying copying and setting permission every time for all those lib files XD

the reason for manual copy-paste is to avoid unforeseen FCs or bootloops which might arise device to device and rom to rom. i will develop CWM version along with Manual Copy-Paste version in the coming Release, ofcourse with a warning note

Hi! Just want to ask, is there a possibility o work this on locked bootloader? Like on the Xperia SP and others. If someone can hijack the ramdis to make it load a costum rom... Is it possible or not?

Do you know what might have happened to my XL? I was able to update Slimkat from 4.4.2 to 4.4.3, but suddenly it doesn't want to connect to fastboot mode

I installed this yesterday and seems to be working quite good and mostly smooth... For me even the GPS worked when I tried GPS test, without any mods...
Just a couple things I observed...1) It is quite resource hogging...the available RAM sometimes comes down to 150-200 MB, so, ROM becomes laggy...2) messaging application's thread/conversation seems to be especially slow...
But, in all "VERY GOOD JOB" please keep this up and make it even better...

Miui is high on resources i am trying to make rom smooth as possible but you need to use 3rd party apps to make it use less ram

This is the real miui suite, the launcher is just a normal launcher
Guys a request to you if you like the rom please rate it aswell on the miui forum if you want me to continue being in the porting team and enable ota updates

Okay. Music playing, internet&documents browsing, a lot of Skype and other communicators, some calls&SMS, sometimes Asphalt 8, rarely take a camera shot... And above all I hate when my phone is lagging. BTW. How's your battery?

Sorry for late reply...
I have done all the above except asphalt 8 and Skype on this ROM yet. Battery is not bad, not as good as CM11 though. But, CM11 for me was exceptional. Hope this explains what you were askin for.
I have heard that gaming is not good on this ROM and I believe the reason is that there is not enough free RAM available.
Just to add numbers: Around 8 hours of usage seems to drain 10-15% of battery. Overnight 1-2% down.

*this is a script that removes any multitasking restrictions set by oems, such as samsung, sony, htc & lg.
*on my friends galaxy grand 2 running touchwiz it showed noticeable improvements in touch latency, eg touch home button and you go home faster.
*this also saves some battery as well as improving performance
*some users report that even installing this on custom ROMs shows noticeable performance improvements, so you should try it!
installation:
~ download script from attachments (right click > save link as)
~ rename to flag_tuner and copy to internal storage of device
~ from device copy to /system/xbin and set all permissions to yes
~ open terminal emulator and type: su -c flag_tuner
~ follow scripts instructions
~ reboot and then enjoy!

Thank you, yes theoretically it won't work on aosp or cm since they don't limit multitasking capabilities for reasons, but theres no harm in trying, besides maybe only 5-6 flags are disabled on cm, there might be some enabled ones, so install and give it a try

I havnt seen a decrease in battery life, maybe cause your playing around with your device more , so that's why the battery is experiencing more drain.

This script should have more flags and all are set to false. I havnt seen nitro lag nullifier recently so I wouldn't know the flags it tweaks and what values are set. but your welcome to try both...

Are you on Android 10 by chance ?
If yes, search for "android auto for phone" and install it side by side to the latest Android Auto . Not sure if this is the solution..

Hi.
I installed the apk.
After I can't open the app.
"Open" button is not clickable.
After searching app is not there...
Settings » Apps there is the app but there is no delete or open button.
I cannot remove it. What a shame is this "hacking situation"... Why do we have to do this...
