That's sure to happen on that particular rom on your model of phone.
You just need to.

Download a PROPER CM10, remove-insert battery, flash kernel again.
Which phone? Which CM10? What exactly did you do? Is your bootloader unlocked? (Last one's just a joke )
As MatsPunt said, try flashing a stock FTF, then try flashing CM10 again.

As long as you repartition.
all the roms i have when i go to the directory do not show up, i guess because they are zip files, can i unzip a rom and rezip it to tar or is there a rom that is in tar file?

No, you can't zip then tar. Most ROM's aren't tar, I don't know which would be.

What OS is your computer?
Download a stock ROM, as they will repartition your phone for you....
windows 7 is my OS
I had the same problem when I switched from CM7 Nightly to CM7. 1 stable. The issue was the Glitch kernel. Try flashing the HL-DEV kernel after factory reset and wiping cache and dalvik cache. Then reflash CM7.

Try downgrading/upgrading your radio or try another custom ROM, but seems to me it's a ROM issue.

Can you recommend me a kernel to use with this ROM please?
I solved the problem, thanks for the help guys. The problem was not with ROM or kernel, it was me.
I was installing the rom using S-ON method so I pushed the wrong boot.img at the last part. Pushed the MIUI rom boot.img instead of the kernel's.

You should use the kernel that has been given to you by the developer, you can find it in the download section. This is it http://d-h.st/jm8
If your phone is s-on you cant flash kernels in recovery, but you can flash it with adb.

I see that you caused the problem, but the problem was the kernel. Next time be more careful at what are you doing.
The Kernel is completely working. But he had S-ON, so had to flash via recovery.
-adb flash boot boot.img

When you are s-on you can not flash via recovery, you must flash via fastboot but NEXT recovery supports smart flash for some devices, and if you activate it you can flash kernels even with s-on.
Do you know what kind of recovery is that can flash kernel directly?

If you are S-OFF you can flash kernels with all of them. If you are S-ON, you have 4EXT recovery for some phones with smart flash but I think Desire S is not supported. The easiest way to flash kernels with S-ON is with adb. Just extract the boot.img file from the kernel to the ADB folder and with the command : fastboot flash boot boot.img you flash it to the phone. If you don`t know how to use adb read the forum.
Hello guys,
Need help!
Flashed my Xperia J with CM10, FXP212.
Problem: I don't get network service.
Bluetooth and WiFi seem to work fine.
Thanks for any help
Edit: (If this helps in anyway) I dont see the FreeXP logo on startup, instead I get a green colored battery logo with the LED glowing red and then the CyanogenMod logo.
Edit 2:
I tried restoring the stock ROM from my backup.
The CWM recovery screen says restore complete. So I say" reboot now". It vibrates and then there is nothing on the screen except for the LED glowing red.
So I remove & re-insert the battery. Switch it on, but I can only enter recovery on purple LED glow. It always enters recovery.
So all I am able to do now is enter recovery and nowhere from there
What am I doing wrong?? Help guys!
Try to fastboot the kernel from the previous release.

Hi saitri,
Thanks for the reply.
There was no network lock on the stock ROM.
Maybe I miss something here. What exactly is network lock?

Maybe I have the solution! Try this:
1) Flash stock rom ICS
2) Flash CM10's kernel with Flashtool
3) Various wipe
4) Flash CM10 with CWM
Fixed?

I tried doing that earlier but landed into a bigger problem.
I can't boot in. It always enters recovery. Tried restoring the stock ROM from my backup but didnt work, It doesnt boot. So I press the 'Vol Up' key and it enters recovery.
What might have gone wrong here??

Hi saitri,
U can flash a stock ROM, either ICS or JB using flashtool. Your phone will be unrooted. Bootloader remains unlocked.
You can then root it and install any other custom ROM. Though I havent installed a custom ROM yet after flashing the stock ROM.
Will let you know when I do it. Meanwhile you can flash a stock ROM. Let me knw if u need any assistance.
All those who replied: Thanks for your support and time.
I tried to unlock the bootloader with the latest firmware 15.1.A.3.12. I got a bootloop problem. The phone is not even switching off. On removing the battery and putting it, the phone boots directly. I can't flash ftfs with flashtool also. Please suggest the best i can do.

Ok, I figured the problem but I have a new problem. When I try to send any files, movies, music, roms, etc to my phone, the files are all broken. When i put cm11, i got errors saying device not responding. I have to restart my phone to send new files and i cannot send large files.

Thank you, i now switched to MSC and testing. I think it works but i also think the files i copy get broken on the way to the phone.
try to re-install driver in your pc. and for me, i always full-wipe my device first before i flash to custom rom.. maybe you should try it too..
by the way, why dont you try to download again these rom? just to make sure.
