And... what does this image do for Kainy, exactly? EDIT: Ok, I got it, it's helpful, but we need touchpads. Do you know anything about making touchpads work? I don't think we can do it without gamekeyboard/GKM touch/other similar apps.

I wanted to help by showing what buttons match in Kainy app. About touchpadas: I do not know how to make them work Perhaps there will be a update that will make it work

That image sure saves some time, thanks but for all I know we need GKM touch + the onscreen analog sticks of kainy to make that work. Did you try some heavy game? I tried oblivion some time ago, when kainy was first released. It didn't go that well sadly... also there aren't enough buttons, it seems

Will this controller work?
Works great for me on Prime 1.7. A side note for the Goldeneye Fans out there who are like me and have problems playing this game after the invention of dual analog controls I have a slightly long winded walkthrough to bring back that nostalgia without having to reprogram your brain.
Start by changing the mapping for the RIGHT stick in the Sixaxis Controller app to A, B, C, D (default is mapped to mirror the left stick). Next boot up N64oid and change the following keys in the input settings to those below.
Analog Left - A
Analog Right - B
Analog Up - C
Analog Down - D
C-Left - DPAD Left
C-Right - DPAD Right
C-Up - DPAD Up
C-Down - DPAD Down
If you haven't done so already you will need to configure the rest of your keys to your liking
Once done with that boot up the game and get into a level. Open up your Start Menu in game and go to the third page and choose controller style. For my setup I chose 1.2 Solitaire. I have noticed that using the controller to try to select in this menu scrolls too fast and you jump from 1.1 to 1.4 and can't stop in between. I found the best way around this is to use the onscreen keys of the N64oid app to choose the option, then you can turn them off when you're done.
Once you're finished back out of the start menu and you can finally enjoy Goldeneye with those Halo controls we're all so bloody used to after all these years.
Thanks for reading my rambling, I hope someone finds this useful.

Do third party controllers work? What about USB controllers?
Hey Guys..
I need a little help,
I followed the instruction exactly but still can't get it to connect
so I first downloaded the Utility to the computer
hooked my PS3 controller to my computer,
and then I entered my Bluetooth address in the change master column..
went back to my eeepad, clicked start in the app,
it says connection established, I then unplug the controller from my PC
and click on the PS bottom, but it just keep flashing and not connecting...
please tell me what I am doing wrong,
tks in advance

It's only going to be an Xperia play exclusive for the launch. It will be opened up to other devices, down the road.
It's already in the store for Xperia Play: http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/16/minecraft-pocket-edition-hits-android-market-only-xperia-play-u/
I wonder if someone could try to port it to the TF. We have keyboard, and we have touchpad. And we also could have USB mouse. Doubt it will be possible without access to the source, but anyway...
We can always just wait for Mojang to release it for the tablets, ofc.

I was able to "enter" one of the menu options by accident, but don't remember what I clicked. It was in the bottom left side and I think I clicked on combination of buttons like alt- shift- something. I believe the keycode that needs to be pressed is 23 or 109
http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/wp/2011/02/13/xperia-play-game-keys/
and pc keycodes
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa243025(v=vs.60).aspx
Has anyone grabbed the apk and tried it on a TF, just to see if it works?
I cant find that key
Ok it was 23 KEYCODE_DPAD_CENTER
I didn't find the right combination to enter it from keyboard, but it can be sent using adb tool.
tada.
short guide:
1. install android SDK
2. connect via usb
3. adb shell input keyevent 23 in windows/unix console
It works pretty good, but most keys are missing.

Cool. I was looking for that. Thnx. I'll write if I am successful with this.
It doesn't need to be ported actually. It's java (cross-platform,cross-architecture) but screen size needs to be patched.(hopefully it's not hardcoded everywhere to only run in one resolution) I looked into decompiled code and saw couple of functions that return screen size, but haven't found where they are called from yet.

This works partially. I got it working using the sixaxis controller. I can jump, place blocks and all that fun stuff, except I can't really turn..
This is because of how the "Sixaxis Controller" app emulates the analog sticks.
I also tried hooking up the controller with a usb-cable, but that didn't work ant better.
Hey, at least i can explore forward
Edit 1: Oh btw just to be clear, i used the Demo-version. (guess thats ok?)
Edit 2: You can turn by using the touchpad

Yea, Experia Play has a touchpad on it.
Btw, having mouselook on TF would be great, from touchpad (dock) or sixaxis thumbstick =) Then it would be even possible to play FPS games via Splashtop remote!

That method doesn't work at all. :/ Removing kecode line makes button nonfunctional, editing it executes old code as if it wasn't changed at all. Maybe it's because of prime. I'll try this on pure rooted firmware.

Sure ill make one soon. Its not really hard though just keep switching between the customization screen on MC3 and sixaxis to align to the controls. Once you have them exactly over one another save the profile, go back to the main menu on sixaxis and click on active touch profile. Then choose the one you created and your good to go. Im so happy with the controller now it makes turning and aiming much smoother.
Here is a screen shot of the touch profile i created for MC3 along with the customization screen. If you superimpose them over one another you can see how it works out. Check out the attached images

Could you possibly post the .map file for your touch profile? If you have one that is working well, that would probably be the easiest way.
When I use the controller in game it stops my movement every few seconds...any idea why?
did you change the build.prop in order to get this game to work?? is so doing this affects/effects (?) any other non-gameloft apks?
build.prop? explain.

We should probably keep this thread about sixaxis settings. Threads discussing getting MC3 to work have been closed due to some of the methods being discussed. I would hate to see this one get closed for it, too.
...but, no. I don't think any build.prop edits are involved.

Its not just changing the touch profile in sixaxis but also the button layout in MC3. Its doesnt really matter where you put the buttons just that they match up on screen to the sixaxis touch profile layout. Also i did not edit any build.prop what ever profile. Simply lay the controls over one another. How ever i do have some tips that make the controls easier to use...
-Make sure that you the set right analog to relative so that you get a full range of motion on aim. If you dont change this you will literally only be able to move your gun the distance allowed on the joystick. (this will solve some of the movement issues some of you have posted about)
-Make sure to choose classic control scheme on MC3. This will give you a static movement while allowing right stick to roam (look around). (this will also solve some of the movement issues some of you have posted about)
-Dont forget to set crouch and melee (stab) with the R3 and L3.
-VERY IMPORTANT: make sure to adjust the sensitivity on both the game AND sixaxis profile for right analog. This took me forever to figure out. The controls felt so jumpy when i first got it working. Could not a single kill online because the controls were too sensitive and no matter how low i set them, I could never get them just right. Once i figured out i needed to also adjust the sixaxis sensitivity...dead bodies everywhere!
If you run into any more problems just post your question here on the thread. Sorry for taking so long to respond ive been traveling for the holidays.
[EDIT] Button layout does somewhat matter. Make sure they arent too close to each other or else you will get input interference from other button. Dont wanna crouch when your trying to melee some noob online .
EDIT: How do you make this work? It appears in the Sixaxis Controller and I can move around in the app using the analog sticks but can't click anything. I first tried it in GTA which supposedly supports gamepads natively.
And how do you change the size of the buttons. I made your posted map the background, but my buttons are no where near as big as the ones in the picture.

You cannot resize the buttons in the sixaxis app but you can resize mc3 buttons by pinching and zooming. The only thing you can resize in sixaxis are the outer rings of the left and right analog (when you click on them the rings appears). I would not recommmend resizing this UNLESS they are interfering with other buttons in your layout. Just resize and move the mc3 buttons to match the sixaxis. They dont have to be perfect, they just have to be on top of each other and not interfering with other buttons.

Meh, I fixed it now, got it to work with MC3. Just need to tweak the controls and sensitivity a little more. Moving the right analog stick selects things and walking forward is really slow.
Wasn't successful with GTA3.

Spell Sword - Xperia Play Optimized

Haven't made a post in a while so I figures I'd let y'all know that Spell Sword is a free game and is Xperia Optimized although it doesn't appear in the dedicated launcher (note that the initial selections have to be made by touchscreen but in game the d-pad, buttons including start button all work).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5taW5pY2xpcC5zcGVsbHN3b3JkIl0.
It stands to reason that some of the other games by the creator are probably optimized too...
Ahh! Thank you for telling me this. I had this on an old iTouch 2g and was secretly hoping for this to be ported!
Edit: Tried it on my r800x, the only button that works is the right arrow on the dpad for me. It's probably because I have a r800x. I guess I'll just have to call up on gamekeyboard to fix my troubles

You know what's strange? This happened to me too, but only on the first time I tried to play it. Now it's utilizing the entire d-pad, square and triangle buttons.
Pretty sure it's another case like PicoPicoQuest, where the ads interfere with hardware controls. I'd gladly spend a dollar to ditch these ads if there was a direct and easy-to-find method of doing so.
Sent from my R800a using xda app-developers app
Another nice platformer.
@TLRtheory - Yes the ad is the one interfering. I can confirm it. The game says that ads will be gone if any IAP is purchased but i have not tried it.
